00:00Hey everybody, if you're seeing a cat in my arms here, you know that I'm at Karma Cat Zen Dog Rescue Society in Milltown.
00:10How you doing? I'm Debbie Mazzella, and we are filming our latest Kitty Corner video.
00:14This boy in my arms is Gandalf, and he is up for adoption here at Karma Cat Zen Dog Rescue Society.
00:21And since he's like a little baby and he can't meow, I'm going to tell you about some upcoming fundraisers,
00:26including Saturday, August 19th, at Cream Ridge Winery.
00:30It is going to be the annual wine tasting.
00:32There's going to be a silent auction, prizes, lots of fun, wine tasting included.
00:37And you can buy your tickets by clicking on the Kitty Corner page right here at magic983.com.
00:42We'll hook you up, and we hope to see you out there on Saturday, August 19th.
00:46Also, the whole month of August, clear the shelters month.
00:49And the last weekend of August is going to be extended adoption hours here at Karma Cat Zen Dog Rescue Society.
00:57So that is going to be the last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the month.
01:01And on the Saturday, magic98.3 will be hanging out here at the MAC Center as well.
01:06So you can come by, meet your new furry best friend.
01:09I don't think Gandalf's going to be here very much longer.
01:12I think he wants to sneak into my purse to come home.
01:15But there's plenty of kitties here that you can check out.
01:18And we've got some really, really exciting special news that we are going to share with you right now.
01:23It's all about cycling for kitties.
01:25You probably saw the interview with Nick Grissy with Joel and Marianne at magic983.com.
01:30You probably took a listen to that.
01:32So here to tell you all about the exciting news is Crystal Hazard.
01:37Hi, I'm Crystal Hazard.
01:38I'm the executive director here at Karma Cat Zen Dog Rescue.
01:42We are so excited today to have Nick in the house.
01:45Nick did something amazing for us that I'm sure you all followed along with on social media and with magic.
01:52Nick cycled across the country and raised funds for us and for our kitties.
01:57It was an amazing thing to do.
01:59He did this a few years ago as well.
02:01And he beat his record of donation by quite a bit.
02:06You'll see in just a moment.
02:07So I'm going to let Nick here have a few words.
02:11Hello.
02:12I was able to raise $11,000 for a Karma Cat and Zen Dog.
02:17And I was very happy to do so by riding my bicycle across the country with the help from everyone that donated.
02:24So thank you all very much.
02:26So thank you so much to everybody who contributed to Nick's ride.
02:30And thank you again to Nick.
02:34Well, it's really hard to top that news.
02:37$11,000.
02:39And it was such a joy to watch the adventures of Nick riding through the country, finding out where he was going to be sleeping that night,
02:46seeing the tent set up, seeing the bike, seeing the action shots.
02:50It was just fantastic.
02:51And I guarantee you he'll be doing it again next year because the girls and the guys here are not going to let him off the hook.
02:56He's sucked in for life.
02:58And who wouldn't want to be?
02:59I mean, you get to hang out with kitties.
03:01You get to raise money for the cats.
03:03You get to give back to the community here at Karma Cat Zen Dog Rescue Society.
03:06So it's a win-win all around.
03:08I am going to turn it over to Janine here at Karma Cat.
03:12She's going to tell you about all the fantastic volunteer opportunities that are available to you here.
03:17Yes.
03:17Oh, thanks, Debbie.
03:18So we would love to bring in more new volunteers.
03:22They're always welcome to come and volunteer on-site at our Milltown Adoption Center on the main street in Milltown,
03:30or volunteer from home, depending on what's best for you.
03:33So you're welcome to come in and help clean and socialize and play with the cats.
03:39Or you can help with our social media.
03:42You can help us do fundraising.
03:44Like, we have so many wonderful events, like the wine tasting and clear the shelters and – or make merch and craft for us.
03:53Who doesn't love to craft?
03:54You have those skills.
03:56If you don't, I mean, the team would love to teach.
03:58And then – so you can help with events and crafting or the most important job – the most important job is to foster, to help us save more lives.
04:08So if you are interested in fostering, look for the application either in the kitty corner as well.
04:15So we would love to have you help us volunteer, and I know Gina is going to tell us about some of our wonderful adoptables.
04:24So currently our featured adoptables include Mama Sarah.
04:28She's an absolutely stunning one-year-old black-and-white female.
04:33She had some kittens who have all been adopted, and now she is looking for a home of her own.
04:39She's super sweet and super gorgeous.
04:41We also have Sam Adams, who is our resident cow kitty.
04:45He's seven years old, black-and-white, and obviously he's a boy.
04:50Sam would prefer to be the only kitty in your house.
04:53So if you are looking for a single kitty, Sam might be your man.
04:58We also have Woody.
05:00He's a three-year-old brown tabby, and he is super cute and super friendly.
05:06We have Kamala, who is a gorgeous four-year-old calico.
05:11She would pretty much prefer to be the only cat in your household as well, but you would fill up your entire camera roll on your phone taking pictures of her because you cannot take a bad photo of Kamala.
05:24She is absolutely gorgeous.
05:26And we also have Sarabi, who's two years old.
05:30She's a brown tabby, also stunning, super friendly, and she was one of our mama cats as well.
05:38And now that her kittens have all gone home, she would very much love a home of her own where she can be adored and cherished.
05:46And she is super sweet and super friendly and waiting to meet you.
05:52So while Janine was talking, you heard the doorbell ring.
05:55That was actually someone that's got an interview to be volunteering here today.
05:59So I saw the door open, saw the person come in.
06:02They're in the waiting room kind of waiting to talk to Crystal and get their little interview.
06:07But really, if you want to volunteer here, ring the doorbell or just look for the application.
06:12You can click the kitty corner and you can volunteer here as well.
06:15We've been involved with Karma Cats and Dog Rescue Society for a couple of years now.
06:19And former volunteer Heidi, who has moved on to actual motherhood but still has cats, was the one who sought us out and said,
06:26Hey, would you want to partner with us?
06:28And we are forever grateful, forever happy.
06:31And I'm telling you, spending a couple of hours here a week and when we film our videos is just absolutely a lot of fun.
06:37So please, volunteer, buy some tickets for the wine tasting, participate in Clear the Shelters,
06:42support the community, and support Karma Cats and Dog Rescue Society.
06:46I'm going to go play with some more kitties.
06:48So I will catch you next month with our new Kitty Corner video here at magic983.com.
06:54I'll be right back.
07:12Yay!
07:13Yay!
07:14Good job!
07:14How's it?
07:15It's a baby!
07:15Hi!
07:16Oh my God.
07:17I think he wants to go.
07:19Can you fit in my purse?
07:20Because I think I'm going to take you home.
07:22I'm going to say, hi, Cornell.
07:23Look, I brought you home a brother.
07:25And some Temptations treats.
07:27He's so chill.
07:29He's very relaxed.
07:30I can't believe he doesn't have a home yet.
07:32How is this possible?
