Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets in IPL 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on April 22. Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Lucknow Super Giants got off to a good start through openers Aiden Markram (52) and Mitchell Marsh (45) with the former scoring a half-century. But in the tenth over they started to slow down and Dushmantha Chameera (1/25) dismissed Aiden Markram. The Super Giants innings faltered from there on as they kept losing wickets with Mitchell Starc (1/25) scalping the crucial wicket of Nicholas Pooran and Mukesh Kumar (4/33) dismissing Abdul Samad, Mitchell Marsh, Ayush Badoni and Rishabh Pant. Badoni (36) was the one who kept fighting with David Miller and his late flourish powered Super Giants to a competitive 159/6. Chasing it, Delhi Capitals got off to a good start provided by Karun Nair and Abishek Porel (51), After Markram dismissed Karun, Porel carried on with KL Rahul (57*). In the end with the support from Axar Patel (34*), Rahul carried Capitals over the finishing line. This is the sixth victory for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025 and fourth loss for Lucknow Super Giants.
