Surah Al-Kahf (1–10) - Translation with Tafsir

1. All praise is due to Allah, Who has sent down the Book to His servant and has not placed in it any crookedness.
Tafsir: This verse establishes the perfection and clarity of the Qur'an. It is free from contradictions or distortion.

2. [He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good news to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward.
Tafsir: The Qur'an is a guide for both warning and good news, calling people to faith and good deeds.

3. In which they will remain forever.
Tafsir: Refers to eternal reward (Paradise) for the believers.

4. And to warn those who say, “Allah has taken a son.”
Tafsir: This addresses false beliefs, especially of those who associate partners or offspring with Allah.

5. They have no knowledge of it, nor did their forefathers. Grave is the word that comes out of their mouths; they speak nothing but a lie.
Tafsir: Emphasizes the severity of false claims about Allah.

6. Then perhaps you would kill yourself through grief over them, [O Muhammad], if they do not believe in this message.
Tafsir: Shows the Prophet's deep concern for his people’s guidance.

7. Indeed, We have made that which is on the earth adornment for it that We may test them [as to] which of them is best in deed.
Tafsir: The world is a test; its beauty is temporary and a trial for mankind.

8. And indeed, We will make that which is upon it into a barren ground.
Tafsir: A reminder that all worldly beauty will vanish on the Day of Judgment.

9. Or have you thought that the companions of the cave and the inscription were among Our signs a wonder?
Tafsir: Refers to the miraculous story of the People of the Cave (Ashab al-Kahf), preserved by Allah.

10. When the youths retreated to the cave and said, “Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.”
Tafsir: The young men sought divine mercy and protection from persecution due to their faith.
