#ChineUE50ans #CgtnFDigital

00:00We're in a very complex global environment right now and concerns from our members about the
00:08geopolitical economic environment have continued to increase over the last, I'd say, five to ten
00:15years actually. There's more protectionism happening, there's negative sentiment in the
00:21market and, you know, people are resorting to, you know, tariffs and other things that, quite
00:31frankly, undermine the global trading and investment. So my message is one of reflection
00:41and opportunity. Let's look carefully at what we really have achieved in an objective way
00:48in the last 50 years, for example, not just EU-China, but globally. Let's look at that. And then let's
00:56look at what sort of opportunities we have to ensure that we can continue to ensure that sort of growth
01:01in a sustainable, prosperous, you know, equitable way in the future. European companies here in China
01:12really do want to contribute to all of these global issues. And so it's very important that
01:19EU and China work together with the business sector to make this happen.
