00:00This is the final season of You.
00:03How would you describe your character of Bronte and how she fits into this season?
00:08Bronte's an enigma, as she's supposed to be.
00:12So that's one thing.
00:15Bronte is intelligent, she's savvy, she's cunning.
00:19Or she can be cunning, I should say.
00:22And she's...
00:24She, like anybody who runs into Joe Goldberg, she just wants to be loved.
00:30I love that.
00:32And I know that you're coming off of The Handmaid's Tale and from this.
00:35So what was it like jumping from that set straight to this one?
00:38Two very heavy shows.
00:40It's funny as it was the opposite.
00:41I went from this set straight to that set.
00:44Well, because Handmaid's, we had a very long gap.
00:47And in the gap between season five and season six, I shot You.
00:51It just so happens that Handmaid's came out before this one, before You.
00:57So it was definitely a change.
01:01I felt really excited to just dive into a completely different character.
01:05And into a character for a long time, like a couple of months.
01:10You know, films, movies, you can only do about like a month or some change.
01:16And this, I really got to dive deep.
01:18I love this show.
01:19I've been a fan of this show since it was on Lifetime.
01:21I'm just a huge fan.
01:25I've seen every season, like the day it comes out.
01:27And I did a full rewatch when I found out I was cast, which is so exciting.
01:32And I'm just honored.
01:36I'm so honored to be a part of it.
01:38I'm honored to be a part of its ending, its conclusion.
01:41And I've always felt like the show is so much more important than it's given credit for.
01:47And I'm truly honored and excited to be a part of that final bit.
01:53What was your reaction when you first read those final scripts?
01:56And do you think fans will be satisfied with Joe's ending?
02:00I think by the finale, there's not a lot left for fans to feel like he's been redeemable every season.
02:12We see him and we're like, but, but he's this, but he did this, but, but, but it's, it's a very classic antihero thing.
02:21But I, I think, and I hope by the end, he's become a little bit irredeemable as if the murder wasn't enough, but, but I like to think that by the end, they might be on the side of the survivor.
02:35I hope.
02:37And, um, and if not, that's a whole other conversation, but I'm, I'm very excited about where we end up.
02:45And, um, I think that, I think that Joe's ending is a fitting, fitting ending.
02:51Well, I know there's a lot of talk about who Joe's most iconic love interest is.
02:56So I wanted to know for you though, who would have been his best match had he not become this obsessive serial killer?
03:04I'm the, I can't even say one person and I know I should, because that's the question.
03:09Um, but Joe, I don't think Joe, Joe is, is Joe's most fitting companion.
03:18There's no one for him.
03:19There's nobody for him until he decides to acknowledge who he is and what he's done.
03:25I don't think there's any hope for Joe Goldberg.
03:28And maybe he finds that, um, maybe he finds that in himself to, uh, acknowledge and maybe he doesn't.
03:35He doesn't, and I'm not, there's no one that's irredeemable, I don't think, with obvious exceptions, as I also work on The Handmaid's Tale.
03:46But, um, but, but Joe to the very end is, I don't know, I think, oh my God, I'm like talking in circles.
03:56I mean, it's so, he's so complicated and I also feel as like playing Bronte for a while, like I feel a lot of tenderness towards him and his past and his vulnerabilities and his trauma.
04:07And so it's hard to look at it fully objectively.
04:10But I, yeah, I do think his ending is fitting.
04:15Like leaving us on a teasel.
04:17We're so excited to watch.
04:18You know, I want to, it's a lot, it's everything happens in a way that you will not suspect it.
04:24I will say that.
04:26You know, I want to, it's a lot.
