RFK Jr. Promises HHS FOIA Offices Will Be Restored, Details Steps To 'Total Transparency'

At a press briefing on Tuesday, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. discussed FOIA protocols.

00:20when is our foia oh we are going to we're restoring all the foia offices

00:29and we're going to make it much easier for people to to get the information we're

00:35going to try to post as much as we can we're going to start a website with all

00:40former FOIA requests and the documents that were produced so people don't have

00:45to do it again and again and we're going to try to get as close as we can to

00:50total transparency in this agency you know I spent a lot of years litigating

00:55under FOIA and I experienced the frustration of going year after year

01:00and being stonewalled by the agencies a lot of the people who are in HHS right

01:05now are come from that background so we all understand how important it is to

01:12have you know clear communications what we the papers that we produce in this

01:16agency do not belong to us they belong to the American people and we need to be

01:21honest with them as the question before you about the drugs and the pharmaceutical

01:33products and the additives to the pharmaceutical products right now Jay

01:37Bhattacharya is working as this is assembling teams all over the country of

01:43sciences and universities and research centers don't look at all of those

01:47products so that we can have I mean one of the problems is we don't have good

01:51science on everything and we need to have science before we take policy action

01:56and that science has been suppressed systematically for decades because of the

02:02conflicts in this agency we're going to remove those conflicts we're doing the

02:06science already doing it and I will be announcing a series of grant

02:13opportunities this summer on all of these different ingredients and we're gonna

02:18have good information for the American public and then we will take appropriate

02:21action
