00:00It feels like Trump is closer to throwing the towel in than a deal to end this war.
00:06Is this something that the media is speculating?
00:10But also, what conversations are happening in the White House at the moment, Ellie?
00:15Well, the president and secretary of state, Marco Rubio, have both said that they are only willing to engage in this process
00:25if it seems like a good faith effort, again, on the side of Russia and Ukraine to try to bring an end to this war.
00:33And so the president has President Trump has so many priorities that he's dealing with right now.
00:40As your audience is aware, we've got the Israel Gaza war ongoing.
00:44We've got U.S. negotiations with Iran, as we all speak.
00:47And so the president has shared, again, that he is happy to bring American resources to the table.
00:56And the United States has invested a tremendous amount of resources.
01:00If you think about even just the special envoy, Steve Witkoff, who has gone to Moscow and sat with President Putin a number of times for numbers of hours.
01:10Again, a contrast to President Biden and the Biden administration, who refused to speak with Putin at all.
01:16All of this is an investment on the part of the Trump administration to help bring this war to an end.
