00:00Jamie, it's cold.
00:05Don't touch it.
00:06Welcome to WatchMojo,
00:08and today we're looking at every Pedro Pascal death from film and TV,
00:11and ranking them from tame to terrifying.
00:14Obviously, there is a major spoiler warning in effect.
00:18Manners maketh man.
00:22Let me translate that for you.
00:24Liam, Nikita.
00:26Take me hostage.
00:27What?
00:27They have a sniper on you.
00:28Take me hostage.
00:30Before his big break in Game of Thrones,
00:32Pedro Pascal was doing bit roles on TV,
00:34like playing Liam in an episode of The CW's Nikita.
00:38Liam is a rogue division cleaner who is dispatched to assist drug lord Guillermo Garza.
00:43However, he ultimately kills Garza to obtain a crucial laptop containing sensitive information.
00:48Well, because of your old friends, I have a brand new mess in my hands.
00:53My laptop is going to the DEA.
00:55Where?
00:56What do you mean where?
00:57Where would they store it?
01:01Liam infiltrates a DEA facility to retrieve said laptop,
01:05but is cornered by Nikita and Owen.
01:07During a tense standoff, Nikita distracts Liam by revealing personal information,
01:12allowing Owen to fatally shoot him through a door.
01:15Yeah, pretty tame stuff.
01:17This is The CW, after all.
01:19We'll be getting to HBO later.
01:26Juan Badillo, Graceland.
01:28Why do you think Briggs has been so reluctant to move on Bello?
01:32His excuse is he wants to use Bello as bait to get to the other monsters.
01:37What he really wants is to sell Bello out.
01:39FBI agent Juan Badillo was one of Pascal's first major roles,
01:45appearing in 11 episodes of the USA Network's Graceland.
01:49Badillo works closely with rookie agent Mike Warren in rooting out corruption within the FBI,
01:53and their investigation takes them to agent Paul Briggs.
01:56I am your control officer, and you're going to help me get Briggs.
02:00You're going to help me prove all of it.
02:01In an attempt to root out the truth,
02:04Badillo goes undercover as a killer named Jangles,
02:07complete with his trademark set of jangling keys.
02:09Badillo Jangles confronts a drunken Briggs,
02:12who shoots and kills him before taking him to a secluded spot for burial.
02:16Not the most dignified sendoff for an FBI agent,
02:19but a pretty tame death in the overall Pascal deathography.
02:22Special Agent Greer, Law & Order Special Victims Unit
02:35Like most budding actors,
02:42Pedro Pascal appeared in an episode of Law & Order,
02:45playing ATF Special Agent Greer.
02:47Greer supplies a gun to Eddie Skinner,
02:49who uses it to kill federal witness Annette Fox,
02:52who was posed to testify against sexual offender Luke Ronson.
02:56Skinner confesses to killing Annette,
02:58and Greer is arrested as an accessory to murder.
03:02Put your hands behind your back.
03:05You're going to let them arrest me?
03:06Oh yes.
03:08And shake their hands when they're finished.
03:10He is then detained and held in the same squad room as Skinner and Ronson.
03:15Now that's just asking for trouble.
03:17In a tense, climactic scene,
03:18Annette's daughter Jenna storms the squad room
03:21and opens fire with a handgun,
03:22killing both Greer and Ronson.
03:25And with that,
03:26a girl gets her vengeance.
03:27How long till those idiots go to Central Booking?
03:30Not soon enough.
03:33Get out!
03:36Get out!
03:37Eddie, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
03:40Did you, uh, lose your way?
03:43Me?
03:44Oh, no, no, no.
03:45I'm just going to Fisher Hall,
03:46which I know is on the Earth planet.
03:51Recently voted most pathetic, uh-huh.
03:53Hmm, well, I'm lost, and I have a map, so...
03:56We're going way back for this one,
03:58when Pascal was just a clean-shaven 24-year-old
04:01going by the name Pedro Balmaceta.
04:02He was a freshman both in the show and in real life,
04:06this being just his fourth credited TV appearance.
04:08He plays Sunnydale newcomer Eddie,
04:10whom Buffy befriends during her first days on campus.
04:14I've read it like ten times.
04:16I always keep it by my bed.
04:19Security blanket.
04:21We have a security blanket.
04:24Unless, of course, you count Mr. Pointy.
04:26Mr. Pointy?
04:27They bond over shared feelings of anxiety and uncertainty,
04:30but Eddie is later ambushed by a gang of vampires and turned.
04:34So much for that budding friendship.
04:36When Buffy encounters Eddie again,
04:37she discovers his transformation and is forced to stake him,
04:41turning him to dust and ending his brief undead existence.
04:45I'm sorry.
04:46I'm not.
04:54General Acacius.
04:56Gladiator 2.
04:57For the glory of Rome.
04:59Look at our boy going from bit SVU roles to headlining a new gladiator movie.
05:12He plays General Acacius, Lucilla's new husband and a general of the Roman army.
05:17He is later arrested for conspiring to overthrow the empire and is forced to fight as a gladiator.
05:23Macronus conspires to have Lucius fight him and the two do battle inside the Colosseum.
05:35But Acacius soon surrenders out of respect for Lucius' family and Lucius in turn refuses to execute Acacius.
05:42So, Caracalla takes matters into his own hands and has Acacius executed by the Praetorian guard,
05:48who riddle him with arrows.
05:50It's a pretty grisly and emotional death,
05:52but at least Acacius went out like a badass.
05:54Kill him!
05:55Tell him!
05:56Acacius!
05:57Acacius!
05:58Acacius!
05:59Acacius!
06:00Acacius!
06:01Acacius!
06:11No!
06:13Acacius!
06:15Dave York, The Equalizer 2.
06:18A date on Calvert's heart drug just came in.
06:21No, we'll talk about it on the plane.
06:22I want to get out of here as soon as we can.
06:24Run some tears.
06:24Now we're getting to the really heavy stuff.
06:28Dave York is the film's primary antagonist,
06:30a mercenary who was once a DIA officer and a close friend of Robert McCall.
06:35York ultimately betrays McCall by orchestrating the murder of their mutual colleague, Susan Plummer.
06:39Yeah.
06:44Got it.
06:50Mr. McCall, you good?
06:51McCall then lures York and his team to a storm-ravaged hometown,
06:55where he eliminates York's associates with his tactical expertise
06:58before doing battle with York atop a watchtower.
07:01It's very dramatic.
07:02Not surprisingly, McCall wins the fight,
07:05stabbing York in the chest,
07:07slitting the back of his neck open,
07:08and throwing him off the watchtower onto the hard rocks below.
07:12Now that's a way to go.
07:19Santos, Drive-Away Dolls
07:38It doesn't take long for Pedro Pascal to die in Drive-Away Dolls.
07:42This was Ethan Coen's first solo film following the creative split from his brother,
07:47about two best friends who find themselves embroiled in a grisly criminal scheme.
07:51Pascal's brief appearance sets these events in motion.
07:54In the opening scene, Pascal's Santos anxiously waits in a Philadelphia bar,
08:07nervously clutching a briefcase.
08:09When his contact fails to arrive,
08:11Santos attempts to leave,
08:12but is pursued by the bartender who is actually an assassin.
08:16Yes, this is very Coen-esque.
08:18Santos is then brutally attacked in an alley,
08:20the bartender using a corkscrew to do his dirty work.
08:24A part of Santos' body is later found by the film's heroines in the trunk of their car.
08:29I don't want to look. Why do I have to look?
08:30Jamie, listen.
08:31Whoever sliced that head off knows who we are.
08:34This might tell us who they are,
08:35so we won't be at a disadvantage.
08:37Agent Whiskey
08:38Kingsman
08:39The Golden Circle
08:40The Kingsman franchise is known for being,
08:52shall we say,
08:53a little over the top.
08:54So it's no surprise that Pascal technically has two deaths in the Golden Circle.
08:59In the first,
09:00Agent Whiskey is shot in the head by Harry,
09:02who rightfully believes that Whiskey is a traitor.
09:05But Eggsy doesn't believe him,
09:06so he revives Whiskey with nanotechnology.
09:09We need to go dark.
09:11We don't know who else a statesman could be working against us.
09:15This is all my fault.
09:16You weren't ready for the field and I'd push for it.
09:18He showed his hand.
09:20You think he'd have let us live?
09:21But Whiskey ends up being a bad guy after all,
09:23and he confronts the Kingsman agents to prevent them from distributing a key antidote.
09:27The three engage in a highly stylized fight
09:30before Whiskey is suplexed headfirst into a meat grinder where he is,
09:35well, ground.
09:35Yeah, it's pretty nasty.
09:38You might want to order the chicken.
09:40You're the last vegan.
09:43This one's for you, Merlin.
09:46Max Phillips, Bloodsucking Bastards
09:48Question.
09:51What do we sell here?
09:52Shake weights.
09:53Our mustaches.
09:54The abanatrix.
09:55No, Michael.
09:57We sell dreams.
09:58He knows my name.
09:58Pascal isn't above doing some B-movies.
10:01Enter Bloodsucking Bastards,
10:03a goofy horror comedy about vampires in a corporate office.
10:07Pascal is Max Phillips,
10:08a charismatic yet sinister sales manager who covertly transforms his co-workers into vampires.
10:14What have you done with Amanda?
10:15I just devoured her.
10:18Fabulous.
10:18His reign of terror culminates in a climactic showdown,
10:23not to mention a very graphic death.
10:26Max first has an office paper cutter sent through his head,
10:29and then he's impaled through the heart,
10:30just for good measure.
10:32But unlike Buffy,
10:34he doesn't poetically disappear into a nice cloud of dust.
10:37No.
10:37He explodes in a massive geyser of blood,
10:41drenching his attackers head to toe
10:42and dyeing their clothes red.
10:44Evan, you can go home for the day.
10:46Frank, you can die.
10:48Joel, The Last of Us.
10:51Do you know how many you killed that day?
10:54Did you count as you went, or...
10:57I guess maybe it just didn't matter.
10:59Game players were in a fun position when it came to the infamous death of Joel.
11:03Not only were they wondering how the show would adapt the scene,
11:06but they were also gleefully watching their non-gamer friends,
11:09gauging their reactions like Game of Thrones readers at the Red Wedding.
11:13It was a very good adaptation,
11:16accurately capturing most of the grisly details from the game.
11:19You.
11:22Stupid.
11:24Old man.
11:30You don't get to rush this.
11:33Joel is shot in the knee.
11:34Then he's beaten and whacked with a golf club.
11:37Then, his face is viciously punched into pulp.
11:40And then, just for good measure,
11:42the sharpened end of the broken golf club is driven through his neck.
11:46Yeah, this one was absolutely brutal,
11:48both physically and emotionally.
11:50Joel, get up.
11:53End it.
11:54Joel, get up.
11:56Please.
11:58Please, get up.

12:15Oberyn Martell.
12:16Game of Thrones.
12:18You shouldn't drink before a fight.
12:20You learn this during your years in the fighting pits.
12:23I always drink before a fight.
12:24It could get you killed.
12:26It could get me killed.
12:28Today is not the day I die.
12:30Oberyn's death is a fun example
12:33of what makes George R.R. Martin's writing
12:35so powerfully subversive.
12:37Oberyn is built up as an expert fighter
12:39seeking vengeance against the mountain
12:41for his dead sister, Elia.
12:42To make matters even more interesting,
12:44he offers to fight the mountain for Tyrion
12:46in a trial by combat.
12:47I will be your champion.
13:01With him winning this battle,
13:02the story will conclude a satisfying revenge arc
13:05and free Tyrion from execution.
13:07But in one of the show's most shocking twists,
13:10Oberyn loses and is killed by the mountain.
13:13And this is Game of Thrones we're talking about,
13:15so his face is pummeled,
13:17his eyes are gouged out,
13:18and then his entire head is burst like a watermelon.
13:21We see every horrifying detail.
13:26How did these deaths affect you?
