00:00Tyler Shuck off the board is QB3? Somehow, someway, not that surprising.
00:07But is it the right decision that the Saints made, picking the Louisville quarterback in front of Shador Sanders, Jalen Milrow, or any other quarterback that comes to mind?
00:17I personally don't think so, and I followed Tyler Shuck throughout his career in terms of Oregon, then Texas Tech, and last year with Louisville.
00:24You know, he's more, in my opinion, of a compiler. Big games, he does struggle. At times, he does force balls into coverage, and I think that's a main concern in terms of the next level.
00:35He was utilized at Texas Tech in terms of the RPO game, more of an RPO power. They like to run him right behind the center and guard in terms of those type of plays.
00:45Can that translate in terms of Kellen Moore's offense? We'll see.
00:49But, you know, for years, Kev, you know, it was always brought up, Brandon Whedon and some of the other quarterbacks last year that were older, that, oh, you don't want the age, the 26-year-old quarterback, the journeyman.
01:00It's not good. To see Kellen Moore in New Orleans sort of reach up and grab Tyler Shuck, it's a little bit shocking because he didn't have a great combine like some of the other quarterbacks.
01:10And if you're asking me, just pure quarterbacks, I would have taken Shador Sanders over Tyler Shuck in a heartbeat.
01:16What I think is fascinating is due to the current Derek Carr uncertainty, the idea is whomever the Saints drafted a quarterback as a legitimate chance to be their week one starter, probably in a battle against Spencer Rattler, all depending on how the news breaks around Derek Carr.
01:33So if you want to sell me that the Saints' best chance at winning games is with the most veteran quarterback prospect, sure.
01:40But is this an answer for the future?
01:43I don't think so.
01:44I don't think even the New Orleans Saints believe that to be the case.
01:48And if that's the point, well, maybe address the edge position.
01:51Donovan Ezraku, Mike Green, both come to mind.
01:55Two names, by the way, that many thought would go in round number one.
01:58Still on the board.
