00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name's Theo Hewson-Betz and this video is all about some
00:04of the awesome things that we have coming up in Greater Manchester over the course of the next
00:07week. Now as always there's lots and lots to get our teeth into so we're going to dive straight in
00:12and we're going to start with the Museum of Illusions. It opened last year right in the
00:16middle of the city on Market Street and this Tuesday the 29th of April they're going to be
00:20making an attempt to make it accessible to everyone, specifically by having a sensory
00:24friendly day. The idea is they're going to be welcoming neurodivergent visitors who may otherwise
00:28be a bit overwhelmed by some of the lights and sounds going on. They're going to do this by
00:32dimming the lights, lowering the sound and they'll be giving out sensory kits too free of charge for
00:37anyone who comes along and it's a great opportunity for those who haven't gone yet for fear of being
00:41overwhelmed. It really is a lot of fun and well worth a visit. For those who are a fan of loud
00:45noises and bright lights however Manchester Forever is on at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre this weekend.
00:50It's a 10-hour rave that harts back to the Madchester of the 1990s. It's going to be a full fairground and
00:55a food court, tons of different music options and predictably it's going to be a lot of fun.
01:00Now for more family friendly music tastes, sounds from the Other City festival is on this week. It's
01:06the 20th year of its operation and the gigs will be going on across Salford. It's one of the longest
01:11running independent music festivals in the UK and it really is a brilliant opportunity for tons of
01:16homegrown grassroots acts to get their names out there. There's hundreds of different acts appearing
01:20over the course of the weekend and tickets are available online for anyone who is keen to avoid missing out.
01:25In some of the more traditional concert venues there are some great options too with Chasing
01:29Status and Chase Atlantic on at the co-op live over the course of this week and over at the AO
01:34Arena Torville and Dean the famous ice skating partnership will be performing over the course
01:39of two nights. That's all for now thank you very much for watching and follow Manchester World for
01:43more. We'll see you again soon.
