00:00You want to hear one of my drafts?
00:01Wait, there's someone on my phone.
00:02Oh, I have this TikTok that I made backstage at Marc Jacobs.
00:05And you need to tell me you don't want to get this.
00:08You don't want to get this.
00:10Hey, Harper's Bazaar, it's Alex Consani,
00:12and today I'm answering your burning questions.
00:16Oh, these are fancy.
00:17Look at that, printed, glued, and perfectly centered.
00:20OK.
00:21OK, let's get into it.
00:22What's the wildest beauty look you've
00:24agreed to for a runway?
00:25I dyed my hair three times for a Marc Jacobs show once.
00:28It was like a blue color.
00:29That was pretty crazy.
00:30I don't know if I'd do that one again.
00:31Is there anything I wouldn't do for a look?
00:33No.
00:33I'll do anything for the look.
00:35Art needs to come back in fashion,
00:36so I'm always here for the art.
00:38What's been your biggest serve on the runway?
00:40All of them, period.
00:43What's one fashion trend you hope never comes back in style?
00:46I don't know.
00:46I feel like all fashion trends are cool,
00:49as long as you're taking charge of it and you like it.
00:52But I don't know.
00:55Skinny capris, those hurt my soul a little bit for some reason.
00:57I don't know why.
00:58What's one trend that you hope comes back in style?
01:01Probably groups of models, like friends that are also models,
01:04like in the 90s.
01:05Naomi and Kate, I'm looking at you.
01:06That was fab.
01:07Which model has given you the best advice?
01:10Amber Valletta taught me how to walk once at a Mugler show,
01:13and that was iconic.
01:14And also she told me about representation,
01:16which is very important to have people represent you,
01:18and you don't represent them, if that makes sense.
01:20Because as a model, I feel like you're always kind of given the idea
01:23that your agents are the ones that give you the jobs,
01:26but you're the ones that get the jobs.
01:28So that was really amazing advice that I got.
01:30What is the worst advice you've been given as a model?
01:32To quiet down, to not be myself.
01:34I mean, obviously, a lot of people love a mysterious model,
01:37but that's just not me.
01:38What's your best kept beauty secret?
01:40Honestly, not washing my hair with shampoo every day
01:44is probably the best thing.
01:45My hair has gotten so much healthier
01:46since I've stopped doing that.
01:47Obviously, when you're at a show or whatever
01:49and your hair looks crazy, you kind of have to wash it out.
01:51But when you aren't working, it's really good to just let
01:53your natural hair oils work for themselves,
01:55because it makes your hair healthy.
01:57What's your biggest fashion regret?
01:59I was very crazy on to the fast fashion, trendy type of clothing.
02:04I don't think it was practical, because I only wore the clothes
02:06a couple of times, and also just, I don't think I look too good.
02:09I don't think it was good.
02:10It wasn't chic.
02:11How would you describe your runway walk in three words?
02:14Confident, powerful, and transsexual.
02:19Do you rehearse your TikToks before you film them?
02:20No, I don't, actually.
02:22Usually, it's kind of just a spur of the moment thing.
02:24Most of the time, I just give one of my friends my phone,
02:26and I'm like, just record.
02:27And they always know that means put their head down,
02:29because they're going to be embarrassed.
02:31My TikToks usually take literally one take.
02:33It's just a one and done thing.
02:34And I feel like it's better, because it's authentic.
02:36Like, all of the flaws in the TikTok
02:38are what make them funny, I think, personally.
02:41But maybe that's just me.
02:42Do you ever get embarrassed when filming in public?
02:44No, never.
02:45What am I ashamed of, babe?
02:46Everybody's seen it, especially in New York.
02:48Usually, I'm filming in New York.
02:49So they're like, it's just another day.
02:51Honestly, like, I'm really just not ashamed.
02:53I filmed in, like, Italy.
02:54I'm crazy in France, actually with Paloma.
02:57I made her record me at the Ritz.
02:58I made this video, I was singing, when you're blue
03:01and you don't know what's, you know?
03:02Put it on the Ritz.
03:03Yeah, that was embarrassing, but I didn't really care,
03:05because it was at the Ritz, and that's fab.
03:07How many unreleased TikToks are sitting
03:08in your drafts right now?
03:10Like, about 75, maybe 80.
03:11If you want to hear one of my drafts.
03:13Wait, there's someone on my phone.
03:14Oh, I have this TikTok that I made backstage at Marc Jacobs.
03:17Marc loves that stuff.
03:26Like, he's always encouraging me when I'm at the shows,
03:28which is great, because I need some encouragement sometimes
03:30when I'm humiliating myself, so there you go.
03:32Which TikTok of yours do fans quote the most?
03:35Okay, I made this TikTok of me saying, did you pray today?
03:37Did you pray today?
03:39Did you pray today?
03:40I see that a lot.
03:41Actually, Trixie Mattel, one of my favorite drag queens,
03:43has a podcast, and they were quoting it.
03:45And I screamed internally, because I love them so much,
03:48and it's crazy that it's reached Trixie.
03:51I love it.
03:52Fans, oh my God, actually, I was in a bathroom recently,
03:54and this girl came up to me, and she was like,
03:56oh my God, Mona Lisa.
03:57So yeah, honestly, they just be quoting the randomest things,
04:00but the Mona Lisa one is funny,
04:01especially because I did not expect that,
04:03and I was like, you talking to me?
04:04Like, okay.
04:05Who is shadier, Miss Mama or Captain Crook?
04:08I feel like Miss Mama is more shady,
04:09because that's my, like, spam account.
04:11I don't think people are gonna watch it,
04:13and then they do watch it, and I'm embarrassed,
04:15but whatever.
04:16What side of TikTok are you on?
04:18Just, like, random videos, like Hopecore.
04:20I love that stuff, where it's, like, motivational, happy,
04:24and then it's crazy.
04:25It's, like, minions or something.
04:27How did you and Charli XCX first meet?
04:29I've been a fan of her forever,
04:30and she followed me, and I was gagged.
04:32But we also have mutual friends.
04:33I'm friends with Gabriette,
04:35and her and Gabriette were in a band together, I believe.
04:38So we have mutual friends, and then she followed me online,
04:40and that was his story.
04:41Her story.
04:43How did Charli XCX approach you to appear in the 360 video?
04:47She messaged me asking me to be a part of it,
04:49and then reached out to my agents about it,
04:51and I was so excited.
04:52The concept was so cool.
04:53It was that kind of 90s girls power duo thing that I love.
04:58That kind of started a movement of women being cool
05:01just by being themselves,
05:02which is something that I think we should do more of.
05:04Is Alex Quintani brat?
05:05Yes, of course, babe.
05:07Brat is just being a little bit messy and real,
05:10and I feel like I'm pretty messy and pretty real.
05:13I hope.
05:14Are you more of a Gabriette or a Julia?
05:16I love them both, and I'm both of them at the same time.
05:18I think that they both embody that powerful, real woman
05:21where it's not too polished,
05:23but at the end, it's giving,
05:24and I hope I'm giving that, so.
05:26What makes the ultimate NYC it girl?
05:29I mean, obviously, living in the Lower East Side once,
05:31you kind of have to to write a passage,
05:33but if not that, I would definitely just say being confident.
05:37Oh, and also having a fast walk.
05:38All of the girls that I know
05:39who are it girls in New York walk so fast,
05:41it's actually diabolical.
05:42Like, try and walk with Charlie
05:43through the streets of New York, babe.
05:45She gone.
05:46Which celebrity were you most starstruck to meet?
05:49I mean, I did an interview with Nicole Kidman
05:51on a red carpet, and that was really crazy.
05:52I feel like I looked shy, which I never feel,
05:55but I watched it back and I was definitely gagged.
05:56Like, she is one of my heroes.
05:58A lot nicer than I guess I would have expected
06:00because she had no reason to be nice to me,
06:02but she was super sweet, so.
06:03What's a common misconception about you?
06:05That I'm not real.
06:08Like, people think that I'm, like, just a personality,
06:11and I feel like my online presence
06:12is very contrived from reality.
06:15I definitely am the same person online
06:16that I am in person,
06:18but also I don't think people think
06:20that I like to have philosophical conversations,
06:22which I hate because people come up to me
06:24and they talk brain rot to me, which is fab.
06:26I love to talk brain rot,
06:27but I think it's important to, like,
06:29know that people can have real conversations, you know?
06:31Like, ask me about what you think about, like, politics.
06:34Like, let's talk, babe. I love it.
06:36What is one question you hope to never be asked again?
06:38Once someone asks me if they think fashion is too woke,
06:41I don't know why you would ask me that question, girl,
06:43because obviously I'm here, so I'm happy that it's woke.
06:47But, yeah, I don't know.
06:48Don't ever try that one again, girl.
06:50Okay, and the last question,
06:51when was the last time you cried this morning?
06:53I came in and cried because I'm so excited
06:55to be doing the shoot and with these women.
06:57We haven't always been given an opportunity
06:59to be on a Harper's Bazaar cover,
07:01a cover that's this big and major in the fashion industry,
07:04and I think that it's so special that we're all here
07:07and we're all able to speak
07:08and we're all feeling so comfortable.
07:10It's really amazing, so I shed a little tear of happiness.
07:13Thank you so much for watching
07:14and make sure to check out the April issue of Harper's Bazaar.
07:18I'm excited, you guys.
07:19Keep this in, I'm happy.
07:21That was fabulous.
07:22I'm so happy to be here.
07:49I'm happy.
