Srinagar (J&K), April 28 (ANI): In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Congress leader Saifuddin Soz said war is not an option and urged for a response inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy. He emphasized dialogue and non-violence as the way forward. On #PahalgamTerroristAttack, former Union Minister and Congress leader Saifuddin Soz says "...Every Indian should adopt the line that the Prime Minister has adopted...If Pakistan says that it is not involved. Let us accept that argument for a time and we shall ultimately go by our investigating agencies, and they will know better… India and Pakistan are two neighbours. Neighbourhood cannot be changed whatever you do. Ultimately, what will prevail between India and Pakistan is the dialogue. Dialogue and discussion. No military solution, no arms, no sword. Nothing will work. Dialougue and Discussion are the best thing. War no option"

00:00What happened at the Pahal Gham, no civilised, you see, nation, no civilised person can accept that.
00:09I remain steadfast on what Mahatma Gandhi had believed, perhaps till his last breath,
00:18that India and Pakistan are two neighbours. Neighbourhood cannot be changed.
00:24Ultimately, Mahatma Gandhi's advice should work. If it doesn't work today, it must work tomorrow or the day after.
00:32That India and Pakistan are two neighbours. Neighbourhood cannot be changed. They have to live together.
00:40Dialogue and discussion is the best thing. War is no option.
00:44Sir, first of all, your stand on this Pahal Gham.
00:47Yes, it is a tragic situation. What happened at the Pahal Gham, no civilised, you see, nation, no civilised person can accept that.
00:59It's an atrocity and killings. Totally unacceptable.
01:06So, by and large, every citizen in India should adopt the line that the Prime Minister has adopted.
01:13After all, he is the leader of the nation.
01:17Having said that, I would also say that if Pakistan says that it is not involved,
01:27let us accept that argument for a time and we shall ultimately go by our investigating agencies
01:36and they will know better after they go into it minutely and then look at what is what.
01:44We shall hear that situation very soon and in the meantime, I have a feeling that Prime Minister has adopted
01:53a line of action or he has made a statement.
01:59I have no reason to contradict Prime Minister.
02:02So, Indian nation should accept what Prime Minister Modi says on Pahal Gham.
02:09Having said it, I remain steadfast on what Mahatma Gandhi had believed, perhaps till his last breath,
02:22that India and Pakistan are two neighbours.
02:26Neighbourhood cannot be changed.
02:27Whatever you do, ultimately, what will prevail between India and Pakistan is the dialogue, dialogue and discussion.
02:39No military solution, no arms, no sword.
02:45Nothing will work except the word of mouth.
02:48That is dialogue and discussion.
02:50I am very sorry.
02:53It is very unfortunate that tension is brimming up between India and Pakistan on the Pahal Gham carnage.
03:03And I have a feeling that Prime Minister has better represented the nation by expressing his shock over Pahal Gham.
03:15And whatever government of India decides how to react to it is for the nation to follow suit.
03:25But ultimately, Mahatma Gandhi's advice should work.
03:30If it doesn't work today, it must work tomorrow or the day after.
03:34That India and Pakistan are two neighbours.
03:37Neighbourhood cannot be changed.
03:40They have to live together.
03:41India and we wish and pray that they live together as very good neighbours.
03:49India said we stopped the India's treaty water to Pakistan.
03:52How do you see this?
03:54I don't think that India should go that far.
04:01Because it is a treaty.
04:04It has worked well.
04:06Even during the wars.
04:10And it offers advantage both to India and Pakistan.
04:16What will we do with water that is available?
04:19It will submerge Punjab and Jom and Kashmir altogether.
04:24And water should flow down to the sea through its own course.
04:33That is what is happening this time.
04:36I have a feeling we mustn't go that far.
04:40We must have a feeling that we must agree with what Prime Minister Modi says on this proposition.
04:51So, his statement is a direction for all of us to understand the matter like that.
05:01So, the Prime Minister is the guide.
05:06This time he is the leader of the nation.
05:08He has spoken very strongly about Pahalgam.
05:14Pahalgam is a tragic situation and killings and in a partisan manner is not acceptable to India.
05:25India is a democracy.
05:26We have democratic values and we cherish those values.
05:30So, there is no conflict in anybody's mind as Prime Minister Modi has represented the whole nation properly.
05:39You think this time we have to take action against the Pakistan if they are involved in this?
05:45No, as it suits India, they say it will be decided, Prime Minister will decide action with cabinet.
05:55We are a democratic country, there is a cabinet system.
05:58So, he will go to the cabinet.
06:01Whatever India's cabinet decides is the action that Prime Minister will take later.
06:11Or, the cabinet will agree with Prime Minister so far, whatever statement Prime Minister has made in this connection.
06:20He has better knowledge on this subject.
06:23So, I have no doubt that Indians should look to the Prime Minister.
06:28So, he says, whatever he says will be a modus operandi.
06:33He says, students, politicians, and other people we see in cities by protesting this.
06:41How do you see this?
06:42The protests, we are a democratic country and protest is part of democratic reaction to the situation.
06:49So, these protests will go on and for me, the stand taken by the Prime Minister is a guiding factor.
06:59So, Prime Minister has said something about Pahal Gaum.
07:05It's not acceptable, the massacre that took place there.
07:11And Government of India has adopted a policy.
07:15I can't, you see, for Indians like me, that is the final word.
07:20So, I condemn this barbaric action in Pahal Gaum and future course of action will be taken by, you say, Prime Minister.
07:34And Prime Minister is guided by the cabinet.
07:38So, the situation has come up for discussion and dialogue there in the cabinet.
07:43And any time, whatever Prime Minister, Prime Minister is the leader of the nation.
07:48Nobody can go against that.
07:51So, as an Indian, whatever Prime Minister says is the right course.
07:59So, that is democratic action.
08:02And to my mind, it was very bad what happened at Pahal Gaum.
08:06So, as an individual, I condemn that.
08:13But I told a channel that dialogue and discussion is the best thing.
08:23War is no option.
08:25So, therefore, if Pakistan has taken the position, they are not involved.
08:29India must listen and then act according to its own needs, own need.
08:37We are not going to go by any country's statements.
08:42We have to go by what the Prime Minister decides.
08:45He is the leader of the nation.
