00:00Pakistan's Defense Minister Khwaja Asif admitting and confessing Pakistan's
00:06history of supporting training and funding terrorist organizations. The
00:11Pahlgaam terrorist attack represents the largest number of civilian casualties
00:15since the horrific 2611 Mumbai attacks in 2008. We reiterate that terrorism in
00:22all its forms must be condemned unequivocally. Thank you chair. I would
00:29like to begin by thanking the UN Office of Counterterrorism for convening this
00:34important meeting and to express India's appreciation to Spain and Iraq the
00:40co-chairs of the group of friends of victims of terrorism for their
00:44leadership in organizing this event. A special thanks to ASG to DSG and USG
00:50involved in this process. Mr. Mourankov a special thanks to you. India deeply
00:55appreciates and values the strong unequivocal support and solidarity
00:59extended by leaders and governments across the world in wake of the recent
01:04terrorist attack at Pahlgaam, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This is a
01:09testimony to the international community's zero tolerance for terrorism. The Pahlgaam
01:15terrorist attack represents the largest number of civilian casualties since the
01:20horrific 2611 Mumbai attacks in 2008. Having been a victim of cross-border
01:27terrorism for decades, India fully understands the long-lasting impact such
01:33acts have on victims, their families and society. As the UN Security Council in its
01:40statement has said, perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of
01:47reprehensible acts of terrorism must be held accountable and brought to
01:52justice. Acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable regardless of their
01:59motivation wherever, whenever and by whomever committed. We reiterate that terrorism in
02:06all its forms must be condemned unequivocally. The establishment of the
02:13victims of terrorism association is a significant step in this regard. It will
02:19create a structured safe space for victims to be heard and supported. India
02:25believes that initiatives like VOTAN are essential to strengthening the global
02:30response to terrorism, ensuring that victims remain at the center of our
02:35collective efforts. Thank you.
02:37Thank you, madam. It is unfortunate that one particular delegation has chosen to
02:43misuse and undermine this forum to indulge in propaganda and make baseless
02:48allegations against India. The whole world has heard Pakistan's Defense Minister
02:54Khwaja Asif admitting and confessing Pakistan's history of supporting, training and
03:01funding terrorist organizations in a recent television interview. This open
03:06confession surprises no one and exposes Pakistan as a rogue state fueling global
03:13terrorism and destabilizing the region. The world can no longer turn a blind eye. I have
03:20nothing further to add. Thank you.
