00:00Let's move on to the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday and Wednesday.
00:06And during that visit, the two nations inked quite a number of agreements.
00:10They aim to boost cooperation in sectors like energy, tech, investment and defence.
00:17Just tell us a bit more about that.
00:18So India is the second largest trading partner to Saudi Arabia, as it stands.
00:25And Saudi Arabia is the fifth largest trading partner.
00:27Now, a lot of this is focused on energy historically, but the latest trade investments, partnerships that were inked, seek to expand that scope somewhat.
00:40So 50 billion is expected to go towards energy development.
00:44And this would be in the way of refineries to enable India to have its own capabilities and reduce reliance on third party imports.
00:5315 billion is earmarked for defence collaborations.
00:59Some portion of this will be for cultural initiatives, even some investment in the Bollywood film industry.
01:05Up to 20 billion is expected to go into manufacturing and infrastructure.
01:09So it's quite a it's you could say it's a broadening exercise.
01:14The trade relationship is being broadened to exchange capabilities in both sides, to develop competencies within each respective region and to deepen that tie that is already that already sees the two nations as some of the most significant partners to each other.
