00:00It was the home team in the Stars getting the job done.
00:04What impressed you most about Dallas' performance in the dominant Game 5 win
00:08to be one victory away from an opening round playoff series victory?
00:14Well, I mean, you could say it's the eye test or the surface level analysis right here,
00:19but I think for Dallas it's as simple as they came up with some pep in their step
00:24and they came out to an early lead and they didn't hold back as the game went on.
00:29Like they did most of the damage in the first two periods of that game.
00:33But so much of this series, the Avs had been leading for the entirety of games
00:37or out shooting them for large stretches.
00:40Like I think back to Game 3 when Dallas won in Colorado,
00:45the Avs were out playing the Stars for the early portion of that game.
00:49Dallas hung around.
00:51Dallas has just been hanging around, taking punches.
00:53They're missing a couple of guys in this series, Jason Robertson and Miro Haskinen,
00:57probably two of their best three or four players on the roster.
01:01So major props to what Dallas is doing, weathering the storm.
01:05They could still get one or two of those guys back later in the series.
01:09The focus shifts now to the Avs trying to take care of business in Game 6.
01:13But my goodness, for a team that has struggled sub-500 over the past couple of postseasons
01:19on home ice, Dallas finally stepped up to the plate and delivered in a big way last night.
01:25And it was good to see for everybody that looked at them as a top contender early in the season
01:31and also at the trade deadline after they acquired Mikko Rantanen.
