Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) criticizes Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's use of Signal and his response to concerns around it.
Transcript
00:00And on Hegsa specifically, over the course of the last couple of days, have you gotten more comfortable with his use of signal? Do you think he's learned a lesson?
00:11You would hope if he said he learned a lesson. I haven't heard that. All I've heard is him defend it or put blame on other people.
00:19And I command it five times. When you make a mistake, you take responsibility.
00:23As far as I can tell, it's like a week old. And I don't know that, you know, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to persuade him that that's the right thing to do.
00:30But I think it hurt him. I've heard all over our district. I know I'm speaking the truth.
00:35You can't put classified information on an unclassified server about a mission that you're going to do in two hours.
00:40You can't condone that. And it sure looked like he did.
00:43And I think if he would have just looked up to it, he would have kept his credibility in a better spot.
00:47But when people see that, it hurts them.
