00:00It's scary out there in Mother Nature, all by yourself.
00:25This place is ruggedly beautiful and totally brutal.
00:30This is the most dangerous thing that I've ever done.
00:38This is where it's going to start to really test me.
00:40It's tough.
00:41It's going to get tougher.
00:45I thought being alone would be the easy part.
00:48I've done 14 days since I've eaten.
00:52It's a fucking night there.
00:56Nothing can be free.
00:59I guess I'm going to have to kill again.
01:05If I could get that wallaby, that's the game.
01:07Bring it on Tazzy.
01:16Shit.
01:17I'm mad to come out of here and do this.
01:20That's all numb.
01:22Trostfire.
01:24Feels like I've broken the ankle.
01:28The best I can do now is just keep going.
01:35It's not working out the way I planned it.
01:39I'm slowly starving.
01:41It's relentless.
01:42To try and make some money.
01:43Woo!
01:44Right, where are we going to skin you?
01:46The lake's rising.
01:47It's relentless, man.
01:48This is now my beach.
01:49It's the beginning of the end.
01:51All I want to do is just go home.
01:53I've got nothing left.
01:58The end, I feel, is near.
02:02I bet nobody thought I was going to catch a wallaby.
02:16The forager is back in the game.
02:19Oh, he ate the jerky.
02:22Now the calm knows that's where my food is.
02:27Been a bit of an emotional roller coaster for me today.
02:30I'm alone all the time in my life, you know, by choice.
02:33But it has its sacrifices, and that's relationships.
02:37Shit, I can see a little trout.
02:40Oh, we got it.
02:41Yes.
02:42Finally, it happened.
02:44After a good three weeks, it'll bugger all, really.
02:49I can just keep this up, man.
02:52I feel like we could stay here for a really long time, you know.
02:56It's just a question.
02:57Can we keep it up?
03:14Well, good morning.
03:42Day 31.
03:44And today, it's officially a month.
03:48All right.
03:49Let's be brave.
03:50It's pretty cold, but just thought,
03:53have a quick look at how I'm going in terms of weight loss.
03:56So, let's start with the legs.
04:04Man, I've never seen that before.
04:05That's a fair hole.
04:08It's pretty skinny.
04:09It's pretty skinny.
04:11Stomach.
04:12Skinny.
04:13Front on, it doesn't look too bad, but side on was a bit concerning when I, yeah, touched
04:22my ribs there.
04:23I've never seen them sticking out quite so much.
04:27Yeah.
04:28So, certainly, certainly losing weight pretty quick.
04:39I reckon I'm probably the lightest I've ever been.
04:41That's what happens.
04:42That's what happens.
04:43There's highs and lows.
04:45No point stressing about that.
04:47Yeah.
04:48All I can do is all I can do.
04:50And survival, 90% mental.
04:57Deuteronomy 31, verse 6.
04:59Be strong and courageous.
05:02Not be afraid or scared.
05:06Your God himself goes with you.
05:11Not a bad-looking day.
05:13Is it blowing?
05:16I'll do some worming, but maybe that'll help me warm up.
05:20My feet are still not warm, even with four socks on.
05:25That's what's getting to me at the moment.
05:28Of course, when your metabolism's slowing right down, you're not generating much body heat,
05:36either.
05:39Oh, yes, oh, yes, oh, yes.
05:45Ah!
05:46Oh, that's what makes a worm hunter's heart sore.
05:53Oh, yeah.
05:56That's what I'm talking about.
05:59Oh, two big ones.
06:02You beauty.
06:06Oh, OK.
06:08Whoa.
06:09That was the closest I've come to passing out.
06:20Didn't stand up that quick.
06:23That's a reminder
06:26to take it slow.
06:27I didn't just get light-headed.
06:28I did get a little bit of tunnel vision for a couple of seconds there.
06:46That was the closest I've ever got to fainting in my life.
06:48I guess that's a sign of low blood pressure.
06:59Like your heartbeat, you know, your body has these systems in place.
07:03And little warning signs to take it easy, so I shower.
07:06On a mission today, it's very windy out, but there's no rain, so I'm gonna go collect the
07:28trail cams that I have over near the wallaby trap.
07:31Hopefully, I'll be bringing back a wallaby.
07:36One month out here, living alone in the Tasmanian wilderness.
07:45I fished so much yesterday and no luck, then I'm back to no food again.
07:51I am concerned that my days are numbered.
07:55If I could get that wallaby, for me, potentially, that's the game.
08:00So I am hopeful, but I'm also getting to the point that I'm like,
08:03this is my last shot, because I can't afford to be burning the calories like I was.
08:12Trekking over here just saps me. It takes it out of me.
08:15All right, so trap is as left it.
08:25So we'll have a look and see if there's been anybody sniffing around.
08:28No, no, actually, it's over.
08:37Okay, so obviously I've scared the wallaby off enough.
08:39He hasn't come back, which sucks.
08:44I worked so hard on that wallaby trap.
08:46I just don't think it's going to work.
08:55That's frustrating.
08:57I feel like I was so close.
09:10I'm glad I got home when I did, because it has not stopped raining since.
09:21But feeling a little bit housebound.
09:25It's hard, because obviously the food is the motivation.
09:29When you try and try and try and you still don't get...
09:31I can't help but lose that motivation.
09:38I have very little patience right now.
09:42I can just tell my mood is shifting.
09:46That walk took it out of me.
09:50Sitting around doing nothing just isn't good for my head space.
09:53You know, when I'm busy, that's me at my happiest.
10:15Right, well, my hand lines are good to go for whenever the wind decides to bugger off.
10:23I'm not good at relaxing. I'm not good at sitting still.
10:31Now what?
10:53It always takes this gargantuan time to get ready every morning.
11:11And I was like, wow, I've been doing this for a month.
11:15My expectations are so different to what I had when I came out here.
11:23I was coming on alone. I'd make my traps and by week two have everything sorted.
11:28I'd be trapping, hunting, shelter me up, I'd be dry, I'd be cosy.
11:33No, none of that. None of that happened.
11:36I've been coming on close to 30 days of being in mud. Continuously.
11:44Just show you what I'm living with.
11:47Mud's there.
11:51I've got water flowing through the floor.
11:56Look at that.
11:57I've only got one dry corner. Just down there.
12:15Almost every day I've been here, we've had weather.
12:19As much as I'm loving the time, it's really oppressive.
12:34Flipping point.
12:39I can't get warm, can't get dry and I can't keep dry.
12:43And my fingers are just frozen. I don't know if you can see that.
12:49I'm noticing that I'm getting irritated.
12:54That's the first sign that I'm struggling.
12:59Cold.
13:02Cracks down there.
13:08So cold.
13:14I just want to fire.
13:20Getting in a negative mindset and having a real impact on my mental health.
13:24That is my biggest fear.
13:28Because I actually think more so than food, my attitude's going to keep me here.
13:32If you're a bad headspace,
13:34I don't know if you're a bad headspace, that's when somebody's going to tap.
13:46Boom!
13:48We're just so close.
13:49There's nothing dry.
13:55I've been fucking wet.
13:57Everything.
13:59Nothing dries here.
14:01Nothing dries.
14:03How did you not keep going?
14:11Fuck!
14:12I've never lived in a place like this before.
14:28I've never lived in a place like this before.
14:37So...
14:39Cruisy day.
14:45Mmm!
14:46I'll show you the soup this wobbly stock from the bulls so good that's the man fern heart
14:57that's pretty good that's soft like potato and this one is my favorite it's the young
15:05shoots of the back wing fern and it seriously is like green beans seriously all I do is talk
15:13about food it's one of the best things about being out here you get so hungry and your body is craving
15:26nutrition and your taste buds become desensitized no sensitized and then you find food and it's like
15:40the best thing in the world it's the tastiest thing you've ever eaten because you haven't eaten
15:48in so long
15:51and after this pot of soup is done we're moving on to the jerky
16:01the jerky is so good it's got a good smoky flavor this is a lot of meat it's going to take me a while
16:11to get through this I feel like I'm in a good place strategically with food I did not enjoy
16:18killing the wallaby I don't really want to do it again so if I have like three strips of wallaby jerky
16:27a day that would last me a day that would last me a month my morale is usually generally good but
16:34then when I've got food in me a positivity out my arse I'm sickeningly optimistic yeah I think I think
16:48we're gonna be good I feel very comfortable alone out here I grew up in a really dodgy area in Glasgow
16:58it's a kind of place where people would break into your house and steal stuff while you're still in it
17:04so for our safety we moved to the highlands of Scotland I just spent a lot of time in nature just
17:17playing out alone I actually fantasize what if I didn't have to go home what if I could just stay out
17:27here really really bad news I've been in and out of the shelter all day and I just went in just now
17:42and my bag of jerky was all over the floor with huge holes I didn't think the call would come at this
18:00time of the day middle of the day with me going in and out of my shelter and I've lost a lot lost a lot of jerky
18:10I see you be shite look at him
18:28where you at where you at oh my god
18:37oh my god
18:39Oh my god
18:41it's so grazing oh my god
18:44it's shushed
18:45oh
18:47Oh
18:48where you at
18:49get
18:51get
18:52get
18:53I've
18:56lost half my jerky
18:58and a Coal
19:00was in my bed.
19:04I've lost a lot.
19:06I've lost a lot of jerky.
19:08If you give us back the jerky, we'll pretend it never happened.
19:14Oh, my God.
19:21I'm going to sleep with this tonight.
19:24I'm going to curl up with it in my sleeping bag,
19:26cradling it, hugging it.
19:30First part of my childhood, rough area in Glasgow.
19:35That's exactly what they do.
19:37You're sitting right here and just walk straight in
19:39and start stealing stuff.
19:48He was on my bed.
19:54Middle of the day.
19:55This was supposed to last me a month.
20:00It's not.
20:02I guess I'm going to have to kill again anyway.
20:05Just another one wallaby.
20:08This place wants me to get over my reluctance to kill things.
20:15This place wants to turn me into a killer.
20:19I wonder how many have kept they up.
20:32I wonder how many have kept they up or whether all 10 are still here.
20:49I don't think so.
20:55Statistically, it's just, I don't think so.
20:57I reckon, what are we a month and a bit, we'd be probably lost at least four, would be my guess.
21:11And if we have, I hope they got what they wanted out of here.
21:24My mood is down one notch today.
21:26Because I'm just, it's just niggling away at me, that I need to catch a fish.
21:43We've only got, what, two feeds left tonight and tomorrow night.
21:48And then we're going hungry.
21:50Real hungry.
21:50So that's going to be an interesting concept.
22:05I can't say I've had any really bad lows.
22:09Coming out of here, you know, I've done most of all this.
22:12But I haven't starved before.
22:14But now I'm in a position, because I haven't caught any off in a few days, because I haven't had bait.
22:25So I'll have another dig around, see what the day brings.
22:37I'm ducking, I'm weaving already, and I'm still inside a camp.
22:44But when you're in this situation, like I am now, there's this constant sort of anxiety, thinking about, you know, are we going to get another one?
22:56Are we going to get another one after that, you know?
23:04With the lake rising like it is, this may be the last time I can even get to the worm patch.
23:09And we're going to go to make a start.
23:15Back at here somewhere.
23:18And doing this is a big risk, because this probably burns up enough calories of nearly two meals, you know?
23:28You know, I'm still carrying a lot of weight, but I know it's not all about weight.
23:33Blood pressure drops off, you're up, you're gone.
23:35It's hard work doing that.
23:41It doesn't look at where it is.
23:44This is all I can do, is just turn over what I've turned over.
23:48Just see if I can find a little piece somewhere I haven't done.
23:57Just hope one sticks his head up.
23:59You fucking beauty.
24:12Check this shit out.
24:17That's made the trip worthwhile.
24:18Look at him.
24:20Get in there.
24:25Perseverance pays off.
24:27Just keep at it.
24:29Right.
24:30We'll go through the rest of this shit here then.
24:33What are they doing up in that stone?
24:35Maybe it drains better or something.
24:37Oh, no, there's another one.
24:41Fucking mother just hit the jackpot.
24:44My God.
24:46Woo-hoo!
24:48Well, jackpot to me.
24:49You will never again ever see a man so happy about two big fat worms.
24:56I've done a month, like, I've done a month, and that's sort of one tick in the box.
25:06Hope.
25:08It's an amazing thing.
25:11Now the aim is to do another month.
25:19I'm going to guard these fucking worms of my life.
25:21Because they could be the answer to getting me well on my way to the next 30 days.
25:38Fuck yeah.
25:51It's raining again.
26:12This morning is actually my hardest morning.
26:17I'm going a bit loopy sitting in there in my head.
26:21This is when you think about, like, tapping out.
26:28Like, I could just tap.
26:31And then a boat would turn up.
26:33Go home.
26:37So, I'm going to go for a walk.
26:41Not sitting in this cabin.
26:43So much of my strategy out here is looking after my attitude.
26:46And I'm starting to really believe that the key way for me to look after my attitude is to do things that I need to do mentally.
26:57Like, go out and see the natural world.
27:01Explore my land.
27:03Try and discover something new each day.
27:05I've always gone to the natural world to find comfort.
27:11I'm here on Livingston Island, in Antarctica, and the elephant seals population is just starting to come back.
27:23I'm an environmental scientist, but really, I'm a naturalist, and I focus on environmental education.
27:30I've got a heap of turtles, and we've been rehabilitating them, and today they're getting released.
27:34My work really is my passion, and it's getting people into nature.
27:40Should we roll over a log?
27:41And our kids are really a part of that.
27:43See what's underneath, hey?
27:44My hope is that they have a good comprehension of what it is to be human, where food comes from, and life and death.
27:51And I think in our Western world, we're completely and utterly sheltered from that.
27:55Oh!
27:57Look what you got, Hux?
27:58Huh?
27:58What are those?
28:00Isopods.
28:01Isopods.
28:01Very good.
28:02Are they tasty?
28:03Yeah, you can touch them.
28:05I fundamentally believe if I can get people to see nature in a different way, I believe that they'll do a better job of taking care of it.
28:13Yeah, should we put it back where it lives?
28:15Yeah.
28:15What do we say to the isopods?
28:17Bye.
28:18Bye.
28:18Bye.
28:24Ah, yes.
28:26This is great.
28:27Look at this.
28:28Some sort of species of coprophytic fungi.
28:31Sitting on some wombat prer.
28:34And the beautiful thing about that is it's digesting it and it's releasing it back into the soil.
28:40This is one of the best things I've seen all day.
28:44Just do my best to do the things that I love.
28:47And this is something I love.
28:50This isn't feeding me, but it's feeding my heart.
28:53I'm so glad I came for a walk.
29:02That's a massive boost of my morale.
29:09Nature's where I'm healing my hurts.
29:11My thought processes are really clear and I'm feeling healthy, like mentally.
29:22And now I've got this focus on what I really need, which is food.
29:26Right now it's food.
29:32There's more I want to do here.
29:34I'm not done.
29:35There's more I want to do here.
30:05Oh, a good old spear.
30:18This is like my FBOS card out there.
30:22So my only wallet.
30:24This is how I get food.
30:27Sometimes it doesn't even work.
30:30It declines.
30:31Can't read the card.
30:33Here we go. Right now I'm relying pretty much solely on my spear to get food so that I can stay here.
30:46The net too.
30:49I see some baby trout or some whitebait.
30:54Ready to roll.
30:56I haven't had a feed in days really. Not a decent one.
31:13Feeling a bit like a possum these days.
31:18Sort of very inactive during the day and when the sun goes down I get all excited.
31:34Ready to go and do some stuff. Try to get some food.
31:39Alright. I'm just going to get on this log now and see if we can spot a trout.
32:09Oh man. It's so disappointing to see them and then just screw it up.
32:25I know that. So my primitive IFBOS card did not work tonight. It declined.
32:46We've only been here a month.
32:48We just keep worrying about how long I can stay here.
32:53Keep feeling my stomach.
32:56How much fat is left.
33:01What is that noise?
33:08Something up in the tree up here.
33:18Did you see that?
33:33God, they're so close.
33:43We're getting close.
33:45We're getting so close.
33:49Like a bit of food would go a long way.
33:54Or should I jump?
33:58Alone Australia powered by Kia.
34:01It's the ultimate human endurance challenge.
34:04The battle is on to survive alone in the rugged Tasmanian wilderness.
34:08With the winner taking home a prize with $250,000.
34:18Well, freakin' heck we were close then.
34:22About another metre closer and I could have grabbed that thing.
34:26Probably could have just dropped a net on top of it.
34:32I grabbed that thing.
34:33Probably could have just dropped a net on top of it.
34:37Just gonna get out of here now, I don't wanna spook him.
34:45They really seem to be having trouble picking me up.
34:48Maybe it was the dripping off the trees
34:50that was keeping it sort of hunched over.
34:54So I feel like it was pissing down.
34:57And they had a net.
35:02A little bit more in our favor.
35:04And I think we could get him.
35:21Man, I just kept thinking about...
35:26those patty melons.
35:28Every day we're out here, that day gets a little bit closer.
35:33That day we're gonna catch a wallaby or a patty melon.
35:37And now that I know I can get that close,
35:40I'm gonna be pretty determined to really, you know, get one.
35:45Got a bit of a fire in my belly all of a sudden to get...
35:51get food, you know, I feel like I'm on the cusp.
35:56Yeah, I'm just motivated, I think.
35:59Make some stuff happen, you know.
36:03We've gotta make some shit happen.
36:05We're making a net.
36:09That's the plan.
36:11All right, time to start.
36:16Use this hand line first.
36:21So we're getting fricking close, man.
36:26Which is exciting.
36:28It's gonna be virtually invisible, even to me.
36:32Okay, I think a spying net is probably my best option.
36:38Because it means I can get fish.
36:40But also, I could potentially go out hunting at night
36:44for wallabies and patty melons.
36:46And potentially, I could get one of them with the net.
36:51One of these nights, I'm gonna go out
36:53and we're gonna manage to get one.
36:56It's starting to feel like it could happen, you know.
36:59We're in this one for the long haul, man.
37:03You've just gotta be patient.
37:06I just keep chipping away.
37:18I feel like I have one natural talent,
37:21which is the ability to do something that's not enjoyable.
37:29I can just do it.
37:31And I can do it for a long time.
37:34It's my one talent in life is just to keep going.
37:43This net could change the game, I reckon.
37:47I want to share something with you.
37:49I decided to bring a photograph that makes me happy,
37:50makes me smile, and I'm happy.
37:51I'm happy.
37:52I'm happy.
37:53I'm happy.
37:54I'm happy.
37:55I'm happy.
37:56I'm happy.
37:57I'm happy.
37:58I'm happy.
37:59If you are, when you are 그때 joined by 13,
38:00you want to be added.
38:01You want to be absent?
38:06OK.
38:08I wanna share something with you.
38:09I decided to bring a photograph that makes me happy,
38:13makes me smile, and makes me laugh.
38:16That's a photograph of my sister.
38:20my sister. It makes me so happy and she's gonna kill me for it. It just reminds me of the funny
38:34times that we have together because we have such a good time and we just laugh together non-stop.
38:41Ah, so good. I want to go see her now. I want to go spend time with her. My life is better
38:56for having her, innit?
38:59Oh, it's so good. I needed that laugh.
39:19No food, no sun. This overwhelming urge to be with my family and friends.
39:25It's a feeling I really didn't think I was gonna have.
39:41I'm such a busy person in my normal life and I really have neglected the human contact part
39:51of my life because I've been so busy working. You know, not seeing my friends and not seeing
39:58my family as much as I would like to. And just not, not fulfilling that little void in my life
40:06that I didn't really know that I had until I came out here.
40:15This place just makes you think, should I be with my family instead of being out here?
40:20It's time for me to stop being this person who is independent and doesn't need help and doesn't need
40:37people. Because I do need people. I just didn't realise that I needed people.
40:51I'm just so used to being this strong, independent woman. And I got stuck in it, I think.
41:10You know, I didn't come out here to have an epiphany. I didn't come out here to reflect on my life,
41:15to make a change. I didn't feel like I needed to. But I've got it anyway.
41:25And I feel like rather than me sitting here on my own,
41:28I should be reconnecting with the people in my life.
41:35Oh, dearie me.
41:36But I've got to push through.
41:46And that's probably a good three, four days of firewood.
42:06Pretty cold.
42:11Everything just feels like hard work at the minute.
42:14If I work myself into the ground, which is pretty easy to do, I don't have heaps of reserves.
42:19It's going to take a lot to, um, build back up.
42:23I can't believe that. Good-looking bay. Still has not been touched.
42:42Looks like it's a beautiful spot. It's the time of day that
42:47caught every fish on and have had every bite on.
42:57But you can do everything right and not have success.
43:05Well, on one level, that's pretty disheartening.
43:09I've lost more than, definitely more than 20, maybe 25 kilos in the last month and a bit.
43:28So I don't know if that is kind of classifying as starving.
43:36I don't know if that is kind of thing.
43:37Maybe it is.
43:38Maybe it is.
43:40Ah!
43:42Ah!

44:31Well, that's plenty sore.
44:35But my right knee or the bottom of the quaddi
44:40and just tip of the right knee just took all the impact on them.
44:47Oh.
44:50Can't take anti-inflammatories.
44:54Don't have any ice.
44:57Mmm.
44:58Hopefully, that's not a deal-breaker.
45:03There's something in my time here.
45:04There's something in my time here.
45:09There's something in my time here.
45:14Alone Australia, powered by Kia.
45:29It's the ultimate human endurance challenge.
45:32The battle is on to survive alone in the rugged Tasmanian wilderness
45:36with the winner taking home a prize with $250,000.
45:41MUSIC CONTINUES
45:46MUSIC CONTINUES
45:50Day 35.
45:54Day 35.
46:24Hello? Hello, it's Karla. I am officially tapping out.
46:54I'm so ready to go. I can't wait to see my family. I can't wait to see my friends.
47:01And I can't wait to eat. I'm so hungry. And I can't wait to get back to my life.
47:12I keep saying that I want to find this inner warrior that pushes through when things get hard.
47:18That I need to learn to sit in the suck. I need to learn to deal with things when they're not enjoyable anymore.
47:28But you know what? I don't. I don't want to sit in the suck.
47:37I want to go and tell my family that I love them.
47:42Oh my lord. Hi.
47:52This place brings out emotions that you don't even know you have.
47:57Once the lack of food sort of kicked in. And I was lacking energy. Lacking motivation.
48:08And decided not to feel like myself.
48:13And I didn't like that.
48:21I've been doing my own thing solo for so long.
48:25I thought that was going to be my strength out here.
48:28But I'm so happy that I've come to the realisation that I actually do need humans.
48:40I need to find the balance. I need to back off work a bit more.
48:43And spend that time with the amazing people I'm lucky enough to have in my life.
48:49I don't want to be alone anymore.
48:54Here or in my real life.
48:59Or in my real life.
49:29I'm glad my knee is feeling better this morning.
49:38It's still feeling sore from where I tripped and fell last night.
49:42But it's not going to be a deal breaker at all. Not even close.
49:48I don't want to be the one who calls it.
49:53Completely trust the docs.
49:56That's their call to know when I'm physically done.
50:01But, you know, mentally and wellbeing, like emotionally.
50:06That's kind of on me.
50:08Because I know there's more I need to do.
50:11Today I reckon I'm going to have a crack at making some friction fire with a bow drill.
50:22I don't need it for fire.
50:26But this is a hobby of mine.
50:28If I get one out here, this will bring me joy.
50:33Bow string.
50:38Apparently the British soldiers in their little survival kit, they have a tea bag.
50:44It's of zero survival purpose.
50:48But the mental boost it will give you in a survival situation to have a hot cup of tea.
50:54That's why it's there.
50:57Well, that is cool.
51:00That is a very, very good looking fire bone.
51:07The good thing to do is you want as little friction as possible at the top of this.
51:11So, oil on the pores of your nose are good.
51:17From your hair.
51:20Okay.
51:21Time to send it.
51:23This is so exciting.
51:24All right.
51:25God.
51:26Please help this to work.
51:28See how I go.
51:29All right.
51:30And I'm not doing heaps of downwards pressure at the moment.
51:43The goal is just rounding off the top of that spindle.
51:48It's all I'm trying to do, just smooth it off.
51:55Starting to see some smoke.
51:57It's good.
51:58It's going to be great to see some black dust.
52:03It's just a little bit too tight and persevering.
52:24This whole experience is kind of one big lesson in learning delayed gratification.
52:31You want to sleep well at night, you need to spend hours making a good shelter.
52:39You want to eat, you've got to experiment.
52:43Trial and error.
52:44A bit more pressure, a bit more speed.
52:47Effort it takes.
52:49The cost is higher, but the reward is great.
52:53Now it looks like we're getting success.
52:56There's a tiny little ember forming.
52:58So I've got an ember.
53:01I've got an ember.
53:04But the biggest exercise in delayed gratification is how long can you stay out here before reuniting
53:15with the people you love the most.
53:19Tuck it in.
53:22That joy that has been delayed will be all the sweeter.
53:31Especially knowing that I've given it up my all out here.
53:41And there we have it.
53:45Tasmanian friction fire.
53:49Bow drill, Lutra Wiener style.
53:52Yelp, yelty!
53:54Woohoo!
53:55It took some doing.
53:58It made me work.
54:08How good is that?
54:10How good is that?
54:12So good.
54:13So good.
54:15A bit of a growing sense of confidence there.
54:20That I can do this.
54:23I can do this.
54:29I'm a dad.
54:30I'm a husband.
54:31A Christian.
54:32And a family man.
54:33I'm a boy from the bush and I'm connected to the land.
54:37When hunger gnaws at me like a knife in my gut.
54:40Will I throw in the towel and say I've had enough?
54:44No.
54:46Because I'm big and I'm strong and I'm mentally tough.
54:49And I know in my heart that I've got enough.
54:55To win this thing.
54:56You've got to believe me.
55:02Let's see what you tell us.
55:04Oh wow!
55:05A spotting qual!
55:06Oh!
55:09Had my first little vibe of loneliness.
55:14I'm going home.
55:17You know my body's just getting to the end of its limit.
55:20Nothing can defeat me.
55:22Because God is with me.
55:24It's the beginnings of acute doubt in the left ankle.
55:27I'll tell you what, it's scary.
55:29Turns a man into a mouse.
55:31I'm sorry if I'm going to have to medically evacuate you.
55:50And it's scary that I'm trying to keep up.
55:52In this moment, there's going to be a special way for you.
55:53I got annoyed and a reassured love for you.
55:54And it's scary.
55:55Welcome back.
55:56I was so sorry for that.
55:58I'm trying to get tired and calm.
56:00I was going to the next day.
56:03Hey, guys.
56:04Hey, guys.
56:06Hey, guys.
56:07Hey.
56:09Hey, guys.
56:10Hey, guys.
56:11Hey, guys.
56:12Hey, guys.
56:13Hey, guys.
56:14Hey, guys.
56:15Hey.
56:16Hey, guys.
56:17Hey, guys.
56:18Hey, guys.
56:19Hey, guys.
