00:00With relegation confirmed now for Cardiff City to League One, attention has to now turn to how the Bluebirds get back out of England's third tier as quickly as possible.
00:15Of course, Umariza was sacked only a couple of weeks ago, placing Aaron Ramsey in interim charge, although that does not feel like a long-term solution for the Bluebirds in League One at present.
00:26Certainly, the futures of many of the players in the current playing squad are now in doubt, as relegations always throw up things in the air at this stage of a season.
00:37So, let's go now to Charles Hague-Jones, who can give his thoughts on the matter and how Cardiff will look to bounce back as quickly as possible.
00:47So, Charles, what needs to be done at Cardiff City going forward? Of course, Vincent Tarn still in charge there as the owner.
00:54What can he do? Certainly, he's not always been the most popular person at the club in terms of the way he's run the club and certainly this won't do his popularity much help either.
01:05So, what can they do to bounce back from his perspective and then a bit lower down in terms of the managerial role as well and, of course, then the players on the pitch too.
01:15Because, of course, going into League One, it won't be easy for Cardiff given the way that they've gone down.
01:21So, disappointingly, a whole club reset probably needed for them.
01:25But, what can be done in the immediate term and then also what can be done in the mid to long term as they go into next season and look to get back on their feet
01:35and hopefully secure in relatively immediate return to the Championship.
01:40Yeah, so, Cardiff City relegated to League One, obviously not the outcome that any Bluebird fan would have wanted at the start of the season.
01:52I mean, when they started making some clever signings in the summer, you thought maybe they could have even pushed for the playoff places again.
01:59I mean, the last few seasons has been a continued issue.
02:04You feel it's just been a downward spiral though.
02:08I mean, it really started off very early on in the summer, actually, when fans didn't even know who the manager was going to be.
02:14Obviously, Errol Bullock's time and then Omarisa as well.
02:18And they were unsure, you know, letters to the, open letters from supporter groups to the club, sort of saying that the identity, the communication is so poor at the moment.
02:30You know, a few things that stand out for me is a lack of goals.
02:33I mean, they haven't had anywhere near enough goal scorers throughout the side.
02:39They just haven't really, you know, they've really struggled in terms of finding the back of the net throughout the entire season.
02:43You know, no reliable, regular goal scorers to turn games in their favour.
02:47And I think in the Championship, the higher you go up, the English divisions, it's so important.
02:53Obviously, they are gold dust at times, these strikers who get you 20 plus goals a season.
02:58But, you know, to not have anyone really near that, obviously, you know, Robinson was on a decent vein of form at one point.
03:06But, you know, he has struggled to score consistently across the entire campaign.
03:10But, yeah, it's going to be a really, really tough season next season for Cardiff City.
03:17I mean, planning has to start now.
03:19You know, they've confirmed their place.
03:22They need to get a few things certain.
03:24Firstly, who's going to be the one to take them forward?
03:27We saw, you know, Chris Davis at Birmingham City.
03:29Never had a managerial role until this season.
03:32He's, you know, taken Birmingham City up with almost a points record in League One.
03:37Yes, obviously, the spending has come into that and helped that.
03:41But, you know, who's going to be that one who's really going to go?
03:44Is it going to be Aaron Ramsey?
03:45Is he going to, you know, believe in a project in terms of getting Cardiff City straight back to the Championship?
03:52You know, that would be great for fans to see.
03:54I think there'd be a load of cohesion between the squad and the supporters and the manager as well.
04:00The fan base will be so happy if it is Aaron Ramsey to take the club forward.
04:05But I feel that would be a great step for him to maybe start on the managerial ladder.
04:09He'd come in and did a very, very tough situation at Cardiff.
04:13You know, there's pretty much no chance that he was going to keep them up in these last few games really coming in.
04:21It was a very, very big ask.
04:22So I think it's fair to maybe offer it to Aaron Ramsey.
04:25Do they look like the likes of Wolves?
04:28Birmingham City dropped down, had a refresh and come straight back at the first time of asking.
04:33And that's going to be the plan for Cardiff City.
04:35I don't want to say they're long, but maybe it's needed in terms of where they are and their future as a club.
