00:00That's US President Donald Trump celebrating 100 days in the White House office.
00:10But is there a reason to celebrate?
00:12We look at the promises he made versus the promises he kept.
00:15During his 721-day campaign, Trump consistently promised to end the war in Ukraine.
00:20At times, he even went as far as to add
00:22I could fix this war in Ukraine in 24 hours.
00:25100 days into Trump's second term, the conflict grinds on.
00:29No specific number of days, but quickly, we want to get it done.
00:34Since Hamas terrorist attacked Israel on October 7, 2023,
00:37Trump maintained that the attack would not have taken place had he been president at the time.
00:41Before taking office, Trump brokered a Middle East ceasefire.
00:44But it collapsed by March 18 when Israel resumed full-scale combat against Hamas.
00:48Carrying out mass deportations was a cornerstone of Trump's 2024 campaign.
00:52We will send elite squads of ICE, Border Patrol and Federal law enforcement officers
00:58to hunt down, arrest and deport every last illegal alien gang member until there is not a single one left.
01:05The administration quickly launched deportation operations,
01:07but Trump's numbers have been lower than those of Joe Biden and Barack Obama,
01:11at the same point in their presidencies.
01:13In 2023, Trump put out a video proposing to end birthright citizenship and ban what he called birth tourism.
01:19Even mothers travel to America to make their children instant American citizens.
01:24Trump's order ending birthright citizenship faces Supreme Court challenges with arguments set for May 15.
01:30Trump thinks tariff is a beautiful word.
01:32He said so repeatedly during the campaign.
01:34There has been more than a little disturbance.
01:36His first hundred days have been the worst for the stock market since Richard Nixon's presidency.
01:40Trump announced a government efficiency commission, inspired by Elon Musk,
01:44to audit federal operations and propose drastic reforms.
01:47The commission became a reality with the Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE.
01:51The savings, however, have been far short of the $2 trillion initially promised.
01:55Returning education to the states and giving more control to parents was a policy that Trump often repeated.
02:01Trump has slashed the education department, but it requires an act of Congress to eliminate the department.
02:06A recent poll shows Trump's approval rating at 41%, the lowest ever for an elected president,
02:11even lower than his first term in 2017.
02:13Will he be able to fulfill these promises?
02:15I'd like to be Pope. That would be my number one choice.
