00:00About Tyler, he productive player for a long time.
00:03On top of that, he's a fantastic person, understands his role on the football team,
00:09understands the value he brings as a leader.
00:11Those are traits that we're looking at, as many of them as we can.
00:16He's still got some production left in him, I think, and still wants to play ball.
00:20And so has the desire to try to play at high level.
00:22So excited to have him, haven't got a chance to be out there with him yet,
00:26obviously, but I think he's going to bring a veteran leadership to us and
00:31veteran play style, which will complement our group well at this point.
00:35And we're all together, we'll have a good mix of veterans and
00:37young players to develop, that we'd like them enough to draft them.
00:42And now the next phase begins, and that's the acclimation and
00:46beginning points of learning a new offense and a new system.
00:49And where we can use them best and how they fit within that group.
00:53I think they're going to bring plenty of competition.
00:55The group's going to be competitive.
00:57I think we've got a lot of guys that have skills that we can use.
01:01But both of those young players, like all the young players we have,
01:05they've got a lot of work ahead of them.
01:06There's a lot of things that got to get done between now and September.
01:09And then even past that, it doesn't ever stop.
01:11But those guys definitely have to earn their way through it.
01:14They're going to have to learn what to do and how to do it.
01:17And then when opportunities come to perform, they're going to have to perform.
01:20And I'm looking forward to getting them here and get to know them and
01:22meet with them and see where they're at.
01:24But as far as those things are going, we'll see.
01:26Well, they'll have plenty of opportunities.
01:29How those reps get shaken out will sort of be determined by how they perform when
01:32given opportunities.
01:35That part of it's been thought out.
01:36It's we have a plan in place and what that looks like is going to.
01:41We have some young players in the secondary that we're looking for
01:45for some jumps, corner position in particular.
01:48If you can throw the nickel in there as well, all of that together to see how that
01:52shakes out.
01:53We've got some young linebackers that we need to step up.
01:56Obviously, we added Cody to that group.
01:58But there's some young players that we need to see them improve and play better.
02:04And then obviously, anytime you can add more depth at either front, offensive line,
02:08defensive line, I mean, those are always things we're going to be looking for.
02:11That's never going to change.
02:13You never really ever feel like you've arrived at those spots, because ultimately
02:16you still have the injuries are out there somewhere.
02:19It's just inevitable with the way the game is that you're going to have to have guys
02:22step up.
02:23So those spots, I think, are ones that we're kind of always looking at and
02:26looking for some young players to step up.
02:29And the receiver position is going to be really competitive, I think, from top to bottom
02:32with the veterans you brought in, with the young players that are coming in as well.
02:36So there's going to be some spots where young players are going to compete.
02:40There's going to be some spots where we're going to keep looking through all the process
02:44where those spots can be.
02:46And some of it's dependent on what's available, and some of it's going to be dependent on
02:49how guys play over the course of the spring and in the training camp.
02:52I think we're improved.
02:53I think any time you add the caliber of player of Kevin Zeitler and the way he's played,
02:59as long as he's played at that level, has been really impressive.
03:03And then you add Dan, who's played for four years as a left tackle.
03:06And now you've got a second-year player in JC that I think has a ton of talent.
03:10And I think Pete's gotten better every year.
03:13You get Lloyd back when he's healthy.
03:16On paper, it looks like we're much improved.
03:19But again, we've got to go do it.
03:23We'll see what it ultimately looks like.
03:24But I think we feel like we've improved the spot, and
03:27we should be in a better place than we were a year ago.
03:31But it's got to be obviously a lot better than it was a year ago.
