Finch Farm, Liverpool, UK
Transcript
00:00We've asked about building on what you've been able to do so far this season as well.
00:04In terms of that and looking ahead, I'm probably going to have to keep asking you now as well,
00:09what about decisions taken on those players who are out of contract, those loan players as well?
00:14Where are you at as regards to that?
00:15Well, we're still looking, but we're also pretty strong at what we're going to do
00:21and we have an idea of what we're going to do.
00:23We're still waiting on our new CEO joining shortly
00:26and we're still in discussions doing several things,
00:30but we can tell all the Evertonians that we are underway behind the scenes.
00:36But we'll keep things correct and quiet
00:39and hopefully do things the right way if we can do that.
00:43One player that has been highlighted is Dominic Calvert-Lewin
00:45and that potentially he's decided that he would like to stay on Merseyside.
00:49Has he given any indication to you that that's what he's feeling at the moment?
00:53Well, I think the way the team's playing and the goals we're scoring, the chances we're making
00:57will give Dom a lot more hope that he wants to try and work his way back to the top again.
01:03And by doing that, he needs to score goals of assists
01:05and I think that the team might be able to give him something like that.
01:08So, he's part of that group of players who are coming out of contract
01:12who we'll discuss with and see how things go in the coming weeks.
01:16Is there any extra detail you can give?
01:18Because we know there's been a contract offer on the table.
01:20Has there been a renewal of that?
01:22Has there been anything different as regards to coaching?
01:24Well, I can say there's not been a contract offer on the table since I've been here, Vinny.
01:27I think the contract offer was here under a different regime.
01:31So, we want everybody to have to fight for what they're doing.
01:34They have to show what they're worth.
01:37So, there's a lot of that way.
01:38We're taking a little bit of time to look at it.
01:40We've not had loads of times in January, but we've had some time.
01:44Unfortunately, Dom's been injured for a big part of it.
01:46But Dom's history has been very good.
01:49So, obviously, we'll be taking all that into consideration.
01:52Any chance of him figuring this weekend?
01:54Yeah, I'm hoping to have Dom around.
01:56He's trained this week.
01:58In truth, it would probably be too quick to put him back in.
02:01Even minutes is a little bit worrying.
02:05But I think I want to get him back involved.
02:07We've only got three or four weeks to go.
02:09I've tried to do it with a lot of the players who came back from injury,
02:12got them back in quite quickly.
02:13Even if I sat them on the bench, they might get a bit of time.
02:17They might not.
02:17I'm not sure.
