00:00AFD!
00:10In the camera.
00:12Herr Becker, hebe sie mal kurz.
00:14Jeder weiß welche Kamera.
00:16Genau, in die Kamera schauen wir jetzt mal.
00:25...den richtigen Minister!
00:27Diese Schwerpunktsetzung
00:30... unsere Demokratie zu schützen
00:33und dabei arbeitet es eigenständig.
00:42The AFD is to be categorized as a confirmed right-wing extremist party,
00:47as it has been proven that the AFD pursues efforts
00:50against the free democratic basic order.
00:53The AFD represents an ethnic concept
00:56that discriminates against entire population groups.
00:59Citizens with a history of migration
01:02are treated as second-class Germans.
01:04This clearly contradicts the guarantee of human dignity
01:09in Article I of the Constitution.
01:11Their nationalist attitude is reflected in racist statements,
01:15especially against immigrants and Muslims.
01:17The AFD is as the sicherst rechtsextremistische Partei
01:20The Domestic Intelligence Agency has a clear legal mandate
01:26to take action against extremism and protect our democracy,
01:30and in doing so, it works independently.
01:34The previous assessment of the AFD as a suspected right-wing extremist organization
01:44has been confirmed by the courts.
01:46The new assessment will certainly also be reviewed by the courts.
01:49In a constitutional state, independent courts decide in the end.
01:55In other words, the new assessment by the Domestic Intelligence Agency
02:00shows that we are a democracy with defenses
02:03and have legal instruments to protect our democracy against extremist threats.
02:08This includes observation and evaluation by the Domestic Intelligence Agency,
02:14as is the case here.
02:16We should always separate these legal instruments
02:19from the necessary political debate.
02:22You know that I have also said it time and again.
02:26A party ban procedure has very high constitutional hurdles for good reasons.
02:31That should not be ruled out, but we should continue to handle it very carefully.
02:36In any case, there is no automatism.
