00:00Jake, thanks so much for joining us.
00:01Appreciate your time, man.
00:03How are you feeling now as you get ready for this last week of training?
00:07Run up to this fight here for your second fight in Lights Out.
00:10Thank you guys for having me on again.
00:12Nice to see everybody.
00:13We're feeling good.
00:14Weight's on point.
00:16We've had a great camp.
00:17Brought in some special guys to work with me.
00:20Really emulate the fight.
00:22So we're kind of covering all the bases.
00:25Other than that, my team, too,
00:28we've got a couple guys on the card in the gym,
00:30so we've been doing the camp together.
00:32And you know how that can be.
00:33It's nice to have a couple guys by your side running those sprints,
00:36cutting that weight, all that stuff.
00:40I'm sure, you know, especially when you do those cuts,
00:42people going through that misery together.
00:44It helps you guys go back together and be your best.
00:47Hopefully we get to see that again.
00:48I mean, I don't know how you can really improve upon the first fight you had
00:51with Lights Out.
00:5215-second TKO victory that you had in December.
00:55It was, you know, one of those, you know,
00:57don't blink, are you going to miss it, over Jose Montez.
01:00How did you feel coming in there into that fight?
01:02I'm assuming pretty good.
01:04You just came in there and steamrolled the guy.
01:05What was going through your mind as you're going in there?
01:07And, you know, what do you do after that?
01:09Because, you know, you talk about the adrenaline dump of a fighter.
01:12A lot of times you get that adrenaline going in the beginning,
01:14and then eventually it wears off.
01:16But when you beat a guy in 15 seconds,
01:18do you have to go run laps or something around the arena
01:20to get rid of the rest of that adrenaline?
01:21So there's always room for improvement,
01:27and I was fortunate with the 15-second finish.
01:30I, you know, it's no joke, it's no secret,
01:33but I do come out like a mad dog for the first minute.
01:37You just, you got to make sure that everything you do is perfect
01:41because you only have to make one mistake.
01:43I like to use my offense right off the bat,
01:47just kind of gauge my distance.
01:49And I saw a lot of openings in the prior fight footage and stuff,
01:53so I knew where my angles were and I knew what to do.
01:57And, you know, again,
01:58my coaches really helped me kind of put all that into reality.
02:05Well, now you're coming in here against Marcus Walton in your next fight.
02:09You know, how are you feeling coming into this?
02:10Obviously, you said you feel good.
02:12What have you seen from him as you started the tape?
02:14What are you looking forward to?
02:15Just explode again and, you know, that's your style.
02:18Are you going to do your thing?
02:19It doesn't matter what he does?
02:19Or what have you seen as you watch the footage of him getting ready for the second fight?
02:24So, yeah, I've analyzed that footage.
02:26I, again, see my openings.
02:28I see where I can really capitalize.
02:30Good thing for me is my coach has already done a camp for this guy.
02:33Our former, our teammate, Joey Davis, has fought this guy for his fifth pro fight.
02:39So, we kind of know what to expect.
02:41He's a hard hitter, athletic.
02:44But, you know, we can wear down that gas tank and get those hands down and land some big punches to the head.
02:52But I'm comfortable wherever the fight goes.
02:54And I'm really, really looking to put on a show for the fans.
03:00Expect a lot of violence.
03:00Joey getting the victory over in the round one TKO over there in Bellator.
03:05So, obviously, whatever the fight plan of your coach works the first time, we'll see if you can do it again.
03:09Follow that fight plan to perfection like your teammate did.
03:12You're on a four-flight win streak now.
03:14How was the first experience with Lights Out?
03:16How excited are you to get back in there?
03:18And, you know, if you get this victory, you go to five, you know, your phone number out there for these people to call you,
03:25stop bringing you up to these other organizations.
03:27What's going on?
03:27Why is the Barbavian, you know, not getting the call up here?
03:32I think Sean's got it all figured out.
03:34But I'm really happy at Lights Out.
03:36I think that the promotion has got a lot of potential.
03:39And I'm happy to be part of, like, the early stages.
03:42Everybody I've worked with has made the experience just very smooth for me.
03:49Because, you know, at the end of the day, it's a lot going on.
03:52So, just to get in there, do my weigh-ins, fight, and have them take care of everything else just makes it a smooth time for me.
04:00So, Lights Out, I'm definitely going to continue fighting for them until we get that call.
04:06Well, we're looking forward to this fight coming up next week.
04:08And we're looking forward to what is coming down the line for you.
04:10What's the plan?
04:11You know, it obviously depends on what goes on in the fighting, damage, sustain, you know, injuries that you've got to heal from.
04:16But, you know, are you trying to get back in there quick and early?
04:19If you get a nice victory, you don't have any major injuries and stuff to heal from?
04:23What's your ideal, you know, time frame coming down 2025 here?
04:28Because you had, you know, a couple fights in 23, 1, 2, and 24.
04:32Do you want to pick up the pace a little more as you, you know, can keep getting better in your career here?
04:38Expect to see me as much as possible.
04:40So, I'm going to take every fight I can, you know, I'm just, I'm hungry, I'm young, and I'm ready to go.
04:48So, like I said, I'm just, I'm just here for violence, and I love the competitive edge.
04:55So, I'll see you next time.
