The cruise line has gamified something cruisers often talk about.
Transcript
00:00Cruisers, I am Dan Klein, executive editor of the most read cruise website in the world.
00:04Come cruise with me, comecruisewith.com.
00:07Next to me is Dennis Post, co-owner of Postcard Travel Planning, our travel agent partner.
00:11And we are in Aruba.
00:13And we actually, we just got an email from Royal Caribbean that reminded us of something.
00:17Dennis, how do you keep track of which cruise ships you've been on?
00:20Do you have a list? Do you have a souvenir from every cruise ship?
00:23How do you keep track?
00:24We have some of those.
00:26Actually, this new app that they have is going to track the cruises for you.
00:31There are also a secondary apps you can get to do that.
00:34So Royal Caribbean and Celebrity have added to their app.
00:37It's not a new app. It's a new feature for their app.
00:39Where every ship you've been on, you get a badge.
00:42So it shows, and it's kind of like a collect them all.
00:45It becomes a little bit of a Royal Caribbean Celebrity Pokemon.
00:48And we're not going to tell people, don't book a cruise just to get a virtual badge.
00:53Don't be like, I really wanted to go to the Bahamas, but now I'm going to the Panama Canal, and it's three times the money.
00:58But it is really neat to go in and see.
01:01I've been on every Oasis-class ship.
01:03When we go on Star of the Season a few weeks, we'll have both been on every, but both, Icon-class ships.
01:09So it's a neat little thing.
01:11And again, it's small, but it kind of just enhances the whole idea of visiting the whole fleet, doing the whole thing.
01:18It makes you feel a little bit more part of the family.
01:19I am Dan Clyde. He is Dennis Post. Come cruise with us soon.
