00:00Here he is talking about them rallying, getting it done in overtime.
00:04Very proud.
00:05Yeah, you know, and it's been, this team has fought all year.
00:09You know, it's been a pretty good road team.
00:12We've had to endure some things with guys being out.
00:15And I think over time that helps you.
00:19You build up, you know, your mental toughness
00:21and understanding how important that is.
00:25And like I said, it's one game.
00:27There's a lot of, you know, emotional highs and lows in a playoff.
00:31But no matter what happens, you have to keep moving forward.
00:36Yeah, I have no idea what that meant.
00:39All I know is...
00:39Keep moving forward.
00:41Yeah, listen, I actually, look, I think the key,
00:44last year when they lost to the Pacers, right,
00:47I think that they had guys just break down.
00:50They had injuries and literally it cost them.
00:54They couldn't, they flat out couldn't play.
00:56And, you know, going into this series,
01:00you had Brunson with the, you know, bad right foot, ankle,
01:03whatever you want to call it.
01:04And then basically everybody else was relatively good to go.
01:09They need to stay healthy in this series against Boston.
01:14They can't afford to have any of these really five starters go down.
01:19And then you saw what happened last night when they got in foul trouble.
01:22I think that every game in this series, you're going to have foul trouble
01:26because I think the refs are calling it just kind of out of control.
01:31Like there were guys with three fouls last night.
01:34By the end of the first quarter, they just called everything.
01:37I tweeted out that Boston got a call every time they went down the floor.
01:41And they got more calls than the Knicks.
01:45Don't be fooled by the free throws and the foul amounts because at least 10 of those
01:50were on Robinson, right?
01:52Like they just kept tackling Mitchell Robinson.
01:55So I thought that somebody's got way more calls in that game last night.
01:59And they still lost.
02:01You know why?
02:02Because they shot like Shaq.
02:04That's why they lost.
02:06They blew it.
02:07And the Knicks took advantage of their broke-ass Jays,
02:11got the rebounds that they needed because they lost a lot of rebounds to Boston.
02:15I mean, how many second and third, fourth chances did they get, Mike,
02:20on rebounds where they scored off of misses?
02:24Think about it.
02:25If the Knicks get half of those rebounds, the Knicks win by 15.
02:30I mean, honestly, because they never hit a shot,
02:32but they kept getting three rebounds every time they missed.
02:36Every time, just getting smashed on the glass the entire night.
02:41But the Knicks were able to still find a way.
02:45A lot of that was Brunson.
02:46He had 29 points.
02:47OG had 29 points hard at 14 and 11.
02:50Brunson, third player in NBA playoff history with 75-plus points.
02:54In the fourth quarter of his first seven games in the playoffs,
02:57only Steph Curry and Kobe Bryant have accumulated that many.
03:02Think about that for a minute.
03:04You know what?
03:04He just won the clutch player of the year in the NBA because he shows up
03:10and goes off in money time.
03:13You can call it clutch, whatever.
03:14Money time.
03:16Fourth quarter is money time.
03:17That's win game mode.
03:20That's what it's all about.
03:23Here's Brunson, as always, very excited after a big win.
03:27We totally try to just keep believing and just keep fighting,
03:32sticking together, and keep chipping away.
03:34Now, when is it going to be a 20-point shot where you can just come back?
03:40We try to keep chipping away, possession by possession,
03:41and then just find a way to keep getting stops
03:45and making plays on an offensive one as well.
03:48He said at one point, I heard him in the presser say,
03:51there's no 20-point shot.
03:54Yep.
03:54So, you just got to keep making buckets.
03:57And they did it.
03:58And I got to tell you, it really was, I think,
04:05my favorite Nick win in 30 years.
04:08I've seen him win absolutely nothing, right?
04:14Like, I've been here 30 years.
04:16I have never seen him win anything that mattered.
04:19I mean, I've seen him beat the Celtics before
04:20when the Celtics didn't matter,
04:22when Melo was on that team, remember?
04:25And all I know is that this was the best win I've ever seen
04:29in my life as a Nick fan.
04:32Honestly, like, I was not a Nick fan in 70.
04:36You understand?
04:36I wasn't living in New York City in 1970.
04:41But what's weird is, when I was a kid,
04:44I was a huge, I loved the Yankees, right?
04:46I liked, I told you, I loved Mickey Rivers
04:49and Reggie Jackson and all of them.
04:53Nettles and, you know, Goose Gossage,
04:55everything about him I liked.
04:57George Steinbrenner, I was a fan of his
04:58when I was a little boy.
04:59I used to love watching the owner of the Yankees
05:02cussing out Billy Martin.
05:05And I thought, I was like, look at this guy.
05:07I was like seven.
05:09I'm like, look at this guy, giving this guy the business.
05:12I want to be around him.
05:14And then, so I always liked New York.
05:18I didn't like the Knicks in 1970.
05:21That's just all there is to it.
05:22I wasn't privy to that team.
05:25But this team I like a lot.
05:27And I've been watching them for a long time.
05:28And they suck.
05:29They never get it done.
05:30So that was the greatest win last night
05:32I think I've ever seen, Mike.
05:34I don't know if you could,
05:35I know you don't like them.
05:36But you got to admit, that was unbelievable.
05:39Let's pray.
05:39We'll see you next time.
