Ikinasal sila nung 1989 at naghiwalay nung 2011.
"When things started to get bad, I found myself wanting to call him and ask him for his advice, because in other moments, that's what I would do.
"I will call him pag nasa taping kami, if I have questions. Pag may nakipag-break sa akin, anything. And he was really a safe space for me to feel better and to feel things would be OK."
"I just want to be positive and remove the anger in my heart. And I just want a happy life with all of you!!!"
"Very him. It's really very him," sabi pa ni Rikki Mae tungkol sa mensahe ng ama.

00:00Hi guys, this is very different from when I spoke for Mamita, because when it was Mamita, it was, of course we were sad, but it was, we felt that she was free, you know, we felt that she lived such a long life, she was an icon, a legend, so of course our whole family was sad, but it's different.
00:30I'm thinking about what to say about my dad, kasi it's, it's really, ano, gone too soon talaga, sorry father, sabi ni father kanina, 60's kinda long, no path for me, hindi, gabi, kasi, it's, anyway, there's a reason naman for everything, but, wentang guys, hindi ako sanay sa mikrofon, okay, so, good evening,
00:57I know that I'm not the Ricky na gusto niyong makita today, but don't worry, I will do my best not to have the mic, like the Ricky that, you know, yeah, so for those who don't know me, my name is Ricky May,
01:12um, the other daughter of Ricky, um, quick backstory lang, the reason that, that is my name is because when I was born, my parents wanted to give me a unisex name, so, Tony, Alex,
01:27so, si Papa, you know, being his very proud self, pati na lang Ricky, pati na lang Ricky, and then, ito si Mamita, sabi niya,
01:42nagin natin ang May, para girly, I'm sorry, Mamita, hindi ito wala pang May, wala na, but that's, that's, that's the story of it, that's why it's Ricky May, it's actually, it's actually because of our little angels, Ricky and Lita,
02:02so, okay, I'll just share some quick, um, quick stories, uh, I have about growing up, so, growing up, um, parang, feeling ko parang mga asawa, honestly, sorry, Mom,
02:17feeling ko talaga parang mga asawa ni Lita, kasi pag nasa taping siya, pag nasa abroad, eh, hindi ako makatulog kung wala siya, actually, hindi pa tawag yun, beeper, the age is showing, beeper,
02:31minibip ko siya, Dad, where are you, when are you coming home, um, and actually, mayroon akong, um, hindi ako natutulog hanggang dumating siya, so, minsan, 1am,
02:44mabihin tayo ko, 2am, waiting pa, and there was this, um, ayan, so, for our friends who know Ricky, active na siya, active naman siya, di ba, so, may mga ano siya,
02:55seasons of activity, like, running, badminton, so, dati, um, dinadali niya ako sa Amoranto, dun siya dumatakbo,
03:05siguro, ayroon sa mga 3 or 4, ito yung kwento ni Papa, 3 or 4, so, I was with my yaya, watching Papa, just go around Amoranto jogging, so,
03:15so, yung kwento niya, pag umiikot daw siya, ako, Papa, Papa, it's me, and then siya, hanggang may tumabi sa kanyang random runner,
03:52tapos, nakaturo na daw ako, and then, 4 years old, diba, so, parang, Papa, she's ugly,
03:59Sara, I'll tell mama!
04:03So, ganun yung, ganun yung ano ko kaedahan niya, parang little Miss, ano, little Miss, ano ba, diba, parang asawa, asawa nga.
04:17Anyway, so, nung lumaki na ako, we would, um, and I'm sure some of his friends know this, like, Eta Bevel, kasi nag-around ako sa tanahin,
04:25As I was growing up, medyo nag-buttheads na kami, because we're very similar.
04:32Matigas yung hulo namin, and we always have to...
04:40So we really buttheads a lot. Diba?
04:43So, I would like to think that my dad taught me patience.
04:47Seriously. Yeah.
04:50I had to write my ano, because there's too many to...
04:56There's really just too many things to say.
05:03Actually, I prepared a little...
05:05Ano, a short presentation.
05:08May insurance na ba tayo?
05:12No, my God.
05:14No, no, no.
05:16Like what Teddy said...
05:19Ate Isa? Kailan tayo niya?
05:21Sabi ni Ate Isa?
05:22Ha! Ha!
05:25So si Papa, he was not...
05:28He was not an expressive man, like what Teddy said.
05:33So yung mga deep I love you's, yung mga wise's,
05:37Yes, we would get it in doses.
05:39But he was a guy that, you know, would not spill all of his feelings and emotions to you.
05:46But I was looking through, you know, our messages.
05:50And, yung mga, it's really just about finding the joy and the love in the mundane things.
06:00So Papa was not a big grand gesture like, you're rigging me, whatever.
06:04But in the mundane things, that's where I felt the love of my dad.
06:10So, I'm just gonna show you some few screenshots.
06:14Okay?
06:16Ayan.
06:17Random lang to guys, mga random ano.
06:19So sabi niya, I want to order from them, my good friend.
06:21I just want to help for Father's Day.
06:23If wala kayong gusto, I can order it and give it to other friends.
06:26So, you know, I mean, it's so mundane, di ba?
06:29Sobrang liit.
06:30Parang it's just, hey, order tayo ng food.
06:32But when you look at it, when you really look at it, he always wants to help.
06:37And if, and if, ano, if he does not find a way to do it with someone, he will,
06:42he will find his own way to help his friends.
06:45Diba?
06:46Ako naman, sige, let's order.
06:47Ayan.
06:48Kaya tamataba tayo, eh.
06:49Kanyan si Papa.
06:50Okay.
06:51So the next one, sabi ko, you want something?
06:53So nagpapagrab ako.
06:54Sabi niya, no na, I'm good with Balots Bobbies.
06:58Sponsored by.
06:59Mamaya, meron niyan.
07:01Turing.
07:02Tapos sabi niya, ask your kuya if he likes something.
07:05Again, I'm just asking, Dad, may gusto ka?
07:08But what does he do?
07:10He brings it towards others.
07:13Diba?
07:14Okay, next one.
07:15Dad, do you still want chichar?
07:17Ha?
07:18Puro food lang tala yung nakumusapan na.
07:20I did not realize this.
07:24Sabi niya, can you send those titos with a dip?
07:28Okay, next one.
07:33Ayan, this was the time that Arah had dengue.
07:35And this was COVID time.
07:37So we were all scared that it was, it was COVID or it was, you know, something,
07:42pranik lahat.
07:43So sabi niya, that's good.
07:45Tell her to rest well, regain her strength, and to boost her immune system.
07:48Tell her to pray, meditate, and relax so she can sleep well.
07:51So actually, it's, it's funny because when my dad was in the ICU na, and he was getting
07:58a bit, you know, anxious because, syempre, it's a scary experience.
08:03This is something that we would actually repeat naman to him.
08:06We would play music, we would tell him to just relax, to, ano, to breathe.
08:10So parang umikot din yung advice niya saan.
08:16Okay?
08:17I just have to include this because he just randomly sent these a taping niya na,
08:22uh,
08:23katina din kanina.
08:24This is from Alternate with, ano, Dicto.
08:27Indirecto.
08:28This is his death scene.
08:30Wala lang, random.
08:31I was like, dad!
08:32Kasi gulot ako, he doesn't send me, parang very graphic.
08:35Don't worry kids, that is not, it's fake.
08:38It is fake.
08:39Okay?
08:40Pero proud siya.
08:41Ito yung mo.
08:42Next.
08:43Ito naman.
08:44So, you know, being the millennial, ako ay, I like to send mga gifs, or ano ba tawag?
08:49G-I-F-S, gifs.
08:51So, I sabi ko, let's rest up.
08:53Tapos sabi niya, good night, love you.
08:55So, yan, nagpapakit lang ako.
08:57So, di ba, he's really not a man of a lot of, he's a man of few words.
09:02But what he says, it has intention, and may, you know, he will make you feel something.
09:08Oh, ito naman.
09:09Ito naman.
09:10Ito naman, very OC si Papa.
09:11So, nakita niya, nag-tiktok kami ni Ara.
09:12He sent me the screenshot.
09:13He circled it.
09:14Sabi niya, clean the area.
09:15You'll show it.
09:16Tok-tok!
09:17Not tiktok!
09:18Ay, sa ikaw yung tok-tok.
09:19Yung tok-tok, yung mga actor.
09:20Huwag kayong tok-tok sa tiktok ah.
09:21Huwag kayong maano.
09:22Tok-tok.
09:23Sabi niya, you know, sabi ko, wow.
09:24He actually learned how to edit the photo, and ano, hindi nga siya makapassword sa Facebook, pero ito ine-effort niya.
09:27Just to tell me it's dirty.
09:28Oo, diba?
09:29Diba?
09:30Diba?
09:31Ito naman.
09:32I don't know, he probably sent this to you.
09:34You know, he likes to forward yung mga nananapot.
09:36So sabi niya, is she your friend?
09:37Pero when you click on that video, maybe some of you know it, when you click on that video, yun yung parang may nananapot.
09:39He learned how to edit the photo, and ano, hindi nga siya makapassword sa Facebook, pero ito ine-effort niya.
09:42Just to tell me it's dirty.
09:43Oo, diba?
09:44Diba?
09:45Ito naman, I don't know, he probably sent this to you.
09:46You know, he likes to forward yung mga nananapot.
09:47So sabi niya, is she your friend?
09:48Pero when you click on that video, maybe some of you know it, when you click on that video, yun yung parang may nananapot.
09:52So sabi niya, is she your friend?
09:53You know, he likes to forward yung mga nananapot.
09:54So sabi niya, is she your friend?
09:55Pero when you click on that video, or maybe some of you know it, when you click on that video, yun yung parang may nananapot na...
10:08Sa sabi ko, dad, mo ka, alam ko na yan, because he already sent it to me before.
10:13Parang, change naman dad! Change your jokes, diba?
10:16Maiba naman tayo.
10:21Ayan, and yes, ayan, so this is a, I asked him if he wanted food, sabi niya, eat well, we had quite an experience this week, rabbi, I know we'll pull this through.
10:33Tapos sabi niya, okay, thanks dad, I'll try, and we just have to keep going day by day, love you.
10:38And then sabi niya, love you.
10:40Diba?
10:40So, it's, um, you know, the selfish part of me looks at it and just pretends that that's what he's telling me now.
10:50Na, just go day by day, and, uh, you know, we will, we will pull through eventually, and we will, uh, pull through together.
11:00There's still another one.
11:03Ayan.
11:04So, uh, I, I have more, but those are the, you know, the ones that was with a smile on my face, just the, again, the mundane things.
11:14And that's, that's how I could feel his love through all of those mundane things.
11:18So, you know, he was not only my biggest bully, or he was also, well, an enfrenemy, but he was also a safe space for me.
11:30So, actually, when, and a lot of his friends know na, he's really been fighting for a long time.
11:38And when things started to get bad, I, I really found myself, uh, I found myself wanting to call him and ask him for his advice.
11:49Because in other moments, that's what I would do.
11:53I will call him if I have questions, if I, if, if, if, if may nakipag-break sa akin, anything, I'll call him.
12:03And he, he was really a safe space for me to, to feel better and to feel that things would, would be okay.
12:12Okay. And, um, in, again, he was in the ICU for a while.
12:20And he, actually, he was not able to talk for a bit because his vocal cords got, um, damaged.
12:27So he had this, for those who visited him, this big, like, whiteboard with the alphabet.
12:33But he would just, you know, press to, to tell us what he wants.
12:37He would, like, spell it out.
12:40So, because of that, mag-text ka na lang din, gusto niya yung whiteboard na yan.
12:44And when he was a bit more, um, aware in the ICU, because there were, there was a time he was sedated.
12:50When he became a bit more, um, yung himself again.
12:53Like, we could talk na.
12:54We could talk, he knew what was happening.
12:57He, we were talking about something, and he got my phone.
13:00And, um, for me, this is what I considered, um, his last words to me.
13:05So, I, he got my phone and my notes out, and then he typed it.
13:11And then, this is, this is what he said, because I was asking him, are you, how are you feeling?
13:16Are you anxious?
13:18I said, well, don't, don't worry, Dad, you're, you're okay, because people are taking care of you here.
13:22You're not alone here.
13:24Parang will play music for you, so don't worry.
13:27But I just said, are you okay?
13:28How are you feeling?
13:29Are you, are you feeling mad?
13:31Happy, sad?
13:32And then he typed in my phone with his one finger.
13:35So, he said, I just want to be positive.
13:41Can you remove the anger in my heart?
13:43And I just want a happy life with all of you.
13:47And then three exclamation points.
13:49Very, very, very.
13:50So, after that, um, he was, he would still be aware, but for me, I consider that his last words to me.
14:01And when, I'm very, very happy to say that my siblings and I were able to bring her dad home because that was what he was asking for.
14:13And when we brought him home, he spent one week at the house before he passed, but he passed at home.
14:22And when we had an idea that maybe it was about time that he would be leaving us, we all went in the room individually and we talked to him.
14:34And the last thing that I told him, I said, thank you for being my papa.
14:49And I will always be your baby girl.
14:53That's the last thing that I told him.
14:58And, you know, I need to take this opportunity to really say thank you because it's not just so many people really helped us and helped your family.
15:11It's really, it's really, you really feel the love of his friends and his family.
15:19So, if you're here to please stand up so that we can all recognize you.
15:24Tito, Tito Lin, and Tito Tirso, thank you so much.
15:32Because they were the ones that were there the first day that dad was at the ICU.
15:37And they visited us and they held our hands and we prayed.
15:42They prayed over papa and they prayed with us in the waiting room because we did not know that it would be such a long fight.
15:50So, thank you.
15:52To the Wednesday Club, Tito Malou, Anna, Alan, Tito Cesar.
15:58And I hope I know everybody's names because minsan iba-iba yung puhupata sa group.
16:05But to the Wednesday Club, thank you, thank you so much.
16:08He loved hanging out with each of you.
16:11He loved eating the twice-cooked adobo.
16:14And every time that he would talk about his friends, kayo palagi yung bukang bibig niya.
16:22So, thank you.
16:23Thank you so much.
16:23And they're here.
16:24So, ay, si Alan, ay, si Anna.
16:26So, thank you so much.
16:28Tito Malou, I'm not sure if you're here, but...
16:33Oh, she's there.
16:35Okay.
16:36So, although she's fierce, you know, she's very fierce, I know how much he loved papa.
16:41And all throughout, she has been really always checking on us, making sure that we're okay, making sure we have food.
16:50Pinapagalitan niya ako minsan na walang pagkain.
16:52But I know that that's part of her love for us.
16:56Tito pong, and...
16:58Tito pong, and...
16:59Tito pong, and...
17:01I just wanted to say thank you so much also for visiting Dad, for all the help and support that you've provided our family.
17:09Also, Senator Bonggo, Senator Alan Cayetano, Senator Grace Paul, Senator Lito Lapid, Miss Emelda Papin, Senator Robin Padilla, and of course, Senator Jinggoy, Wendita Presi, and his family.
17:25Actually, Senator Jinggoy is my Ninong, and...
17:29Ninong, gusto lang, joke lang.
17:34Well, actually, my dad was so proud because he was also the Ninong of Jell, of Jell Estrada.
17:49But, yeah, to the Estrada family, really, thank you so much talaga for all throughout the months that we have been fighting.
17:59Thank you so much po for your guidance and for your help.
18:03To Tito Billy, Rebilia May, Tito Sylvia Sanchez, to all of the legends group, naku, ang dadami ninyo, but they are legends for a reason.
18:15Thank you, thank you so much for visiting Dad a week before we brought him home.
18:21Thank you for loving him.
18:22I know that there were times na hindi na kayo nakikita as much kasi nagiging busy, but just know that he really valued each and every one of your friendships.
18:32So, my dad has a lot of friends, pero yung really close to his heart, or you guys are really one of the ones that are close to his heart.
18:41And of course, to the legends kids, sana matuloy natin ang ginawa ng mga magulang natin,
18:49and I hope that we can continue to celebrate, you know, in other occasions, not just like this.
18:55To the P&E family, sana Ms. Regine, Ms. Winnie, Ms. Helen, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Fobel, and all of you, thank you so much.
19:05So, I'm not sure if you're here, but if you're here, just please stand up, or they can acknowledge you.
19:09But thank you so much, so that it's his GMA family, thank you so much for always letting dad grab the mic and sing a song.
19:21That's the truth.
19:23Of course, Tito Bebeth, and Tito Carlitos, and the Sigudrina family,
19:28Tito Bebeth is one of the only ones na kinakatakutan ang tatay ko.
19:37Yeah, but I know that Papa loved and respected you very, very much.
19:44So, thank you, Tita, and thank you for being there when he took his last breath as well.
19:52To the Gutierrez family,
19:55guys, come on, stand up, please.
19:58That's Janine, Jessica, Max, Diego, and Tita Wonching, and of course, Tita Lol.
20:02So, from Mamita's wake, no, na parang naging party planner,
20:09well, not party planner, event planner kami bigla for our lawless wake na nadala kay Mama Guy,
20:15na nadala kay Papa.
20:17Sana last na to.
20:19Pagyari-retire na kami.
20:20But, you know, seriously, but thank you so much for all the help with the flowers, the food, the iwata.
20:28Lahat, lahat.
20:29It really takes a village to make all of this our celebration for Dad.
20:34So, thank you to the Gutierrez family.
20:36And the little shout-out to Echo.
20:38Come on, Echo. Stand up, Echo.
20:40Come on, Papa.
20:41Just a quick story, guys.
20:45We were, we were, it took us a week to, to get Papa's room ready.
20:51Porque may something, we had to get all the beds.
20:55And thank you so much pala to Miss Lovely Rivera and Hala for, for giving us the hospital bed.
21:00Thank you so much.
21:02Um, but we were, we were done now.
21:05We were ready.
21:06Kaso lang, for those that have been to Dad's house,
21:08Malaki garden yun na may ilaw.
21:10And masakit yung, you know, sumasakit yung mata niya.
21:14Echo went there.
21:16He, he took two hours.
21:18Almost three hours.
21:20Kinabit niya yung kortina ni Papa na 18 feet.
21:2318 feet yun, ha?
21:25Tama, diba? 18 feet.
21:30And that was the last thing that we needed to complete our Dad's room.
21:37So, thank you, Echo.
21:38Sabi nga niya after, ano, what did he say?
21:42Parang, it, it, sabi ko, eh, itik mo na lang yung asawa ko.
21:46Sabi niya.
21:46Yun yung joke niya.
21:48Diba?
21:48Ibigay mo na lang sa asawa ko yung bayan.
21:50Yun yung joke niya.
21:52Yeah, but thank you.
21:56Labi, baba.
22:00Um, sorry guys.
22:02I just need to take this opportunity to thank people because really a lot people really help.
22:06To Bloss.
22:14Parang, she's like, okay?
22:17Well, Bloss is my partner of almost 10 years.
22:20Bloss nga naman!
22:21She's also the one who was singing in the choir a while ago.
22:27With a job, Bloss.
22:28No, but of course, you know, with everything that our family is going through, she has been one of the ones who has shown love to our family.
22:36To me, who has, ano, seen me in the middle of the night in the couch, crying, looking at my dad's pictures.
22:43And then after, when I look at her, she's crying na rin.
22:45So we're crying together.
22:47So, but you know, it's good to grieve with someone or with your loved ones.
22:51At least you can do it together.
22:53So, thank you, Bloss.
22:55To Papa's siblings, Tita Yela, Tita Maymay, Uncle Charlotte, Uncle Big, we are so appreciative that you both flew home from America.
23:06And that you have been in constant communication with us to check on how your kuya is.
23:12And I know that you guys love him so much.
23:15And before he left, we called them, he spoke in their ear, and they were able to say their own goodbyes.
23:22So, Tita Yela and Tita Maymay, please, you can stand up, Uncle Charlotte's also there.
23:27And Uncle Big, please, give a round of applause to three siblings.
23:33Thank you so much.
23:34And I know that Papa loves each and every one of you.
23:41To Malka, Malka, please stand up.
23:46Malka is the girlfriend, the partner of my dad for, I think, four years, about?
23:52Four years.
23:54And really, we would not have done it if she was not there with my dad.
24:02She was the one who has been by his side in the hospital every day.
24:09She has not been, you know, she used to be, we were both from the BPO, but she has stayed by his side.
24:17And she has made him feel loved during the last years of his life.
24:23You know, of course, us as a family, we can do that, but she was able to do that for him as a partner.
24:30And I'm very, very appreciative for you taking care of Papa, and for loving him, and for making him feel loved until the end of his days.
24:42And even when we went home, she was still there.
24:48Hindi ko na ginagalaw yung dynamic nila.
24:50Kasi when we were at the ICU, I said, Dad, do you want us to stay here with you?
24:55Do you want us to sleep here?
24:57We can take turns, we can take shifts.
25:01But Dad, kasi the man that he is, he doesn't want to be a burden to people.
25:09Parang, no, I'm fine, I'm fine.
25:11So, when I saw that their dynamic was working for them, and I would check in on her, if you need anything, please let us know.
25:18I don't want to, you know, we were just trying our best to make everything work.
25:25But, yeah, I really appreciate na there was someone with him, taking care of him, and the taking care is in a bigger way already.
25:35In a way that we, we shouldn't have to, or it's not a way that we want to take care of our partner, but she did that.
25:46So, thank you, Melka, from our family, and thank you that you were able to be with him in the hospital,
25:55and we were able to also fix things for him outside, manage his household, and everything.
26:01And, lastly, to my mom, mama, who is really the light of our family.
26:13Who from, who from my dad being in the ICU, to being in a regular room for five months, and then going home, and going to the ICU again.
26:25And even before that, she has really shown the grace, and the, the, I don't even know the word for it.
26:35But she has really, you know, I might, I used to say that, parang grabe si papa, sobrang lakas niya.
26:41But seeing how my mom handled also managing the siblings, our family, and making sure that she was there for each of us when she knew that we were going through what our family was going through.
26:57So, thank you, mama. I love you so much.
27:01And, I'm not ready to live in a world that my dad's not there, but at least I still have my mom, who I know can provide so much love for not just me, but all my siblings in our family.
27:16So, again, if I forgot anybody, I'm so sorry, but for those that visited, Tito Serafin, Tito Mary Ann, to all of his friends, Tito Agot, Tito Rio, everybody, Tita Lod, Tita Nadia, thank you so much.
27:33If I forgot anyone, please, please, please know that we are so grateful for you, Tita Ana, Vera, thank you so much, and, yeah.
27:49To end the night, I'd like to call on my mom to say a few short words.
27:57Thank you. Thank you, everyone.
