A knitting group at a Washington cafe have been decorating Concord to help celebrate VE Day.

00:00okay and philip have you just asked about what are some of the things that you've been doing
00:28to recognize ve day so what we've been doing we have a knitting class every tuesday and they've
00:33been knitting handmade poppies which is behind and they've also done a post box topper with
00:40the little v memorabilia around it and we're also selling poppies for the british royal legions
00:48which is all again handmade by our knitters why do you think it's important that eight years only
00:54remembered days like ve day i think it's important to let the younger generation know the sacrifice
01:00that these people made um for us not only in the forces but the the land girls the miners and people
01:08like that that stayed behind to help as well and there's going to be a big day here tomorrow yeah
01:15what are some of the things taking place tomorrow so we have a little mve day um tomorrow here at
01:20the coffee shop it's an all-day thing we have you can come dressed up in your 1940s um finery we're
01:26going to have 1940s music and we'll try our very very best to have the 1940s food just to make a
01:32little bit more authentic and but it's it's going to be a good laugh yeah
