00:00Ambassador Whitcoff said last night at the Israeli Independence Day celebration that
00:06very, very shortly there would be announcements on expansion of the Abraham Accords.
00:13The President also today said that there would be a big announcement next week that it was
00:18very positive, that he was just – my word – sort of teasing about it, but –
00:23MS NAUERT- I think it'd be a classic talking about something before it lands
00:29without giving too many details.
00:31That is certainly, of course, my situation here as well.
00:35But when the President says there's going to be a big announcement, I would take him
00:38seriously, and he would, of course, I think put it that way in the fact that it's very
00:42good news for people.
00:43And what about Ambassador Whitcoff saying very, very shortly there would be an expansion
00:50of the Abraham Accords?
00:51MS NAUERT- Well, I will wait for the Secretary when it comes to the details of what's
00:55going to be described and announced in that regard.
00:58Of course, we know of the importance of the Abraham Accords, starting with the success
01:02in the first Trump term and what that meant for the region, something that no one ever
01:07thought would occur.
01:08Once again, Trump has a tendency to accomplish those kinds of things that make a huge difference
01:13for a long time.
01:14So I have nothing to report for you right now, but clearly it appears as though I will later
01:19on in the week.
01:20Nadia.
