00:00The latest set of evidentiary material held by the ICC prosecutorial panel was laid out to the defense or legal team of ex-President Rodrigo Duterte today.

00:09This disclosure of evidence assures the defense will have ample time to prep for its counter and not taken by surprise by any new or unfamiliar evidence or witness from the prosecution once litigation kicks off.

00:24The International Criminal Court's prosecution disclosed a new set of evidence on the crimes against humanity case against former President Rodrigo Duterte.

00:37In a document signed by ICC prosecutor Karim Khan, it states that 139 items of evidence were disclosed to the defense team of Duterte.

00:46It is classified as confidential due to protocol, but the ICC said this comprises the documentary material cited in the arrest warrant of Duterte.

00:57These involved the drug war killings during his time as mayor of Davao City and murder and barangay clearance operations in his presidency.

01:05Last March, the ICC prosecution also disclosed 181 items of evidence.

01:11ICC Assistant to Council Attorney Cristina Conti believes the submission of the new pieces of evidence will strengthen the case against Duterte.

01:53in ruling the defense challenge on ICC's jurisdiction.

01:57ICC pretrial chamber clarified that in accordance with the rules of procedure and evidence,

02:03only the judges themselves can request the ICC presidency, an excuse in exercise of function.

02:10Attorney Conti said, Duterte camp's appeal has no basis.

02:14For attorney Nericol Menares, who serves as legal counsel for drug war victims,

02:19Duterte is just looking for a way to evade trial.

02:22At the moment na si President Duterte ay matalo sa isyo ng jurisdiction at magkaroon ng trial,

02:31sigurado yan, wala siyang ebidensya ang maisasubmit and President Duterte will be the first Asian to be convicted in the ICC.
