00:00Hello! I'm Mary Ann Pellecita from the Cultural and Public Affairs Division,
00:10Media Production Specialist and In-House Tour Guide.
00:13Originally, it was called the Independence Grandstand.
00:17Itinayo ito para po sa celebration ng Philippine Independence from the Americans noong July 4, 1946.
00:25The first grandstand was designed by Juan Arellano.
00:31And then, later on, it was moved because noon pa man,
00:44And then, they're looking for a new venue kung saan mas maraming ma-accommodate na tao.
00:51That's why ito yung nakita nilang place, yung bagong reclaimed lang na area in front of the Rizal Monument.
00:58And this present Quirino Grandstand was designed naman po by Federico Ilustre.
01:05And the first president na nakapag-held ng inauguration po dito ay si Elpidio Quirino, hence the name Quirino Grandstand po.
01:14Mabuhay, magandang umaga.
02:21So, for the guidelines, number one, we encourage na yung park goers to do the clean-as-you-go policy.
