00:00What does it say?
00:07Jesus changed water into wine and drove merchants and money changers from the temple.
00:13What does it mean?
00:14This chapter records contrasting responses to signs that Jesus was the long-awaited Messiah.
00:21The miracle in Galilee resulted from obedience to Jesus as an honored guest.
00:26Whatever he says to you, do it.
00:28In Jerusalem, greed and corruption blinded the eyes of Jewish leaders.
00:34They should have recognized Jesus as the Messiah they had studied in the scriptures
00:38when he said he would restore the destroyed temple in three days.
00:43Instead, the religious elite challenged his authority
00:46because they failed to understand he was talking about his body, not the temple in which they met.
00:53How should I respond?
00:54Who is Jesus to you?
00:56Someone you honor or an authority you challenge.
01:00Honoring him is as simple as doing what he says is right and avoiding what he says is wrong.
01:06Obedience increases your awareness of attitudes that creep in and lead to sinful habit.
01:12What do you need Jesus to remove from your life today?
01:15Just as he cleansed the corruption from the temple,
01:19Jesus can clean anything out of your life that doesn't reflect his righteousness.
01:24All you have to do is ask.
01:26As you read God's word, ask what he wants you to do today.
01:30Then honor him by obeying what he shows you.
