00:52the hard-hitting and undefeated raymond danger
00:59murataya
01:02i don't know for you in charge now to give instructions thomas taylor
01:10folks can i have you right here gentlemen right here all right guys everything from the bottom of the
01:21black up is going to be good everything from the bottom of the letters here up is going to be good
01:25you've got my instructions in the back gentlemen protect yourselves at all times listen my commands
01:29touch them up back to your corner gentlemen for zaurab delayev last time he was in a world title fight
01:35it was against devon haini he's the last man to be stopped by devon haini that was in 2019
01:41but it was a fractured orbitable and that dream became a nightmare for raymond murataya
01:47side the international boxing hall of famer timothy bradley mark pregal roving reporter for the
01:54evening tonight you see murataya trying to get off to a quick start going to the body just trying to
01:59use some angles right here you see murataya that foot movement that you saw was just angles didn't
02:06do anything off those angles however at the life strong physically strong you can tell look how big
02:12his back is he likes to come forward comes behind a tight tight guard likes to stab down low and sneak
02:21over the top of right hands look up to i'm abdulayev is heavy on the jab lands eight of 30.9 per round
02:29which is 2.4 more than murataya and tevin's 10.7 more thrown than his opponent so that's his weapon of
02:37choice if he can stay constant with it at the lie if he can stay constant with it it's going to disrupt
02:41the rhythm and counter punchers that's what they hate they hate guys that are accurate with their jab
02:47so we'll see how effective after the live jab is going to be this first round
02:54i'm going to take my time feel him out and then start trying to wear him down
02:58and the live had an extensive amateur pedigree as well you know although his style is pretty simple
03:08it's extremely effective you know he starts to slow and slowly apply more and more pressure
03:13as the rounds continue and he seems to get stronger as the rounds go something rare tim
03:21up to life up to live has two 12 round stoppages and that goes to show you that this man prepares
03:28he's got the wind and the power to carry late which is so difficult to do in this sport
03:36yes you see him feigning body feints foot feints
03:42good counter from for a tie-off with the after live jab
03:45a bit of a tech chess match right now technical battle by both men
03:54need the guy looking to make a mistake both guy feigning trying to get the other one to commit
04:07he's trying to counter the strength of the other here the first two and a half minutes of this fight
04:11well right now after live is east that stab jab is working for him downstairs
04:17how do you beat a jab you go over the top over the top the right hand
04:20that's how you beat it or you step out of range make it fall short and lift them up with the uppercut
04:29first round of 12 for the lightweight championship here is top-ranked boxing
04:40good run to study him all right that was a good run to study him how are you feeling good how do you
04:46feel him thank you all right then keep that smart keep that smart keep that smart keep that paints
04:50he's trying to paint that jab to the body because he wants to get you with that hook upstairs right
04:54so just keep this time right boom boom right here right smart keep that keep throwing around him
04:59right all day get some water how do you feel good then when you're set then that's when you go all
05:16right with the power all right okay don't throw
05:20all right let's go
05:31his fight is for the interim ibf lightweight time we talked about none of the champions calling out the
05:37name of raymond murataya this is a man that as an amateur had three wins over ryan garcia
05:42and in his fontana backyard where his father set up a ring they hosted the likes of ryan garcia
05:48mark castro carlos balderas the olympian so he came up fighting in the backyard against elite
05:55fighters and this is what you get from those backyard brawls that beautiful left uppercut from murataya
06:01who starts to open up here in round two you got a training facility at your house a boxing with the
06:05ring in the back i mean come on now that's next level people from in his neighborhood another
06:12neighborhood would come to sparring and you know you see that technique again or a technique in the
06:17skill yeah he's looking for he told him he was looking for the left hook have the life that's the
06:23reason why he was admitting with that stab jab he's looking to sneak him over the top that was a nice
06:28little shot down there to the to the flank of murataya by the live it was off of two jabs yeah he's
06:36starting to get a little bit more busy with his jab but what i did like about what murataya was doing was
06:41he threw a combination occupied him upstairs and then he slipped the under uppercut right underneath
06:45that guard oh nice right hand nice setup
06:53they call him danger for a reason anytime you are in that ring with raymond murataya
06:59they say he's a killer in the gym and he's proven to be that inside the ring under the big lights so
07:05earlier in the show you said if murataya how do you know he's on he's on his reactions how quick
07:13he's reacting the punching power the speed the accuracy he's on tonight nice faint right there
07:23subtle faints keep him guessing oh nice left hook there yes from murataya he's quick to strike on the counter
07:29and then you see the movement afterwards he makes after life pick up his feet but you see how after
07:35life is trying to get after him right away to try to get some good back a little angle changes right
07:40there make you make the opposition pick up his feet while he's picking up his feet you can counter him
07:46as he's readjusting that's what you're seeing from murataya subtle movements left and right
07:52after life is coming straight down the middle
07:58gonna stab jab from after life trying to go to his bread and butter
08:03he gonna need he gonna need to do more than this just stab jab
08:09in this commercial break we're gonna show some of the best punches as it ended a little early in the two box
08:14all right all right yeah after you throw he's trying to have a look all right so just keep your hand up
08:26or go under and when you step back step back with your hand up okay let both hands up don't stand up
08:31up like this all right go like this all right no cover with your fight ticket so bring it along
08:37and come through we've got drink specials five for djs and a crowd that's just as lit as the main event
08:44don't tap out early the party continues at whiskey girl and double deuce exclusively left to the body
08:50right now left to the body just make sure it's at the right time not from far okay
08:54check it out smart all right
09:07in the corner of zahra abdulayev they're saying he's looking to counter don't give him the space
09:12to counter because tim when you let murataya it's a nice combination right here touch the top
09:18split the guards you know that high guard can get you in so much trouble
09:23and again nice blinding lead jab followed by that right hand splitting that guard once again
09:31for a tie in the southpaw stance i'm telling you he's going in this
09:35not going to worry and dre can fight from that south fast southpaw stance as well
09:41more attire right now going in his bag deep in his bag pulling out all the tricks
09:47nice body shot and then up top from murataya switching the cadence up and now he's back to his orthodox
09:53stance i would love to see murataya get a little bit more on his jab he needs to get a little bit
09:57more active with that lead hand and i would love to see have the lions just get a little bit more
10:04busy with his works throw some more offense out there maybe a one two one two three
10:11thing is every time he's let the hands go murataya's had an answer see when you have a guy that's in
10:17there that's smart right because i think that's murataya is more skillful and i think from the
10:23looks of things he's a lot more smarter you know you can't give him time to think you got to get on
10:28top of him you know you got to put some pressure on him you got to force him to make mistakes
10:33i know it's still early right now however those first couple of rounds it didn't murataya's favorite
10:40just the speed the power and the accuracy he's winning these early rounds
10:46neither guy very active murataya throws 47 punches around after live 46 that's well below the 57
10:53punches thrown average for the 135 pound weight class so
11:00after live especially is going to have to go out of his comfort zone because the jab's not working
11:03tonight tim no the jab is not working he's making uh murataya's making it but with that right hand
11:13but when you're down two rounds it's like it's time to hey change the strategy nice work from after
11:18live right there great counter sharp sharp counters
11:26best punch of the fight so far for
11:28four immediate face rushing
11:34nice uppercut right there just split the guard again with the uppercut
11:41listen for that bell gentlemen three rounds up the left needs to get going
11:44here against or a tie and he does just at the bell
11:47keep doing that all right yeah you're winning every round keep doing that keep it keep that
11:59keep that rhythm going right side to side little steps take your punches right boom boom boom and
12:04dig in with a hard body shot all right that body shot don't don't look for it when you're far until
12:11you're touching touch them then dig into the body all right
12:15take a look at that screen above you stand up qr code and tell us how they run a little more okay
12:25a lot a lot of things a lot of things
12:32just be careful touching touching boom and then watch that move your head all right
12:42all right let's go
12:51ready for round four of the scheduled 12 round fight for the interim ibf lightweight world title so far
12:58a great start for raymond murataya but zaur abdulayev showed signs of life tim there at the end of round
13:05four yes he did
13:08finally let some offense go that right hand
13:11has been working
13:13we're at the live but check out this this move right here dangerous move not gonna lie you're not
13:19supposed to drop your hands from your face but it nice little perry counter right there right hand
13:24from murataya see that's not that's i'm just letting y'all know that's not textbook he he got
13:30away with it however if i'm at the live i see that now i'm gonna fake like i'm gonna go downstairs
13:35to the jab and i'm gonna come up with the left hook because he's gonna bring that hand down to block
13:39that's a nice stab jab from abdulayev now but it was pretty if he can get that jab going it could change
13:47the fight absolutely and then murataya will have to make the adjustments a nice body shot murataya
13:52hitting hard yeah you can hear them shots he's hitting hard off the elbows off the arms
13:59and abdulayev he's being selective with his punches because he's not trying to open himself
14:03up to be knocked out
14:07see the quick hands of murataya and now the lion has to think before he closes that gap and there's a
14:12nice right and murataya now is putting two together three shots together not just singles counter
14:21which can be which can be dangerous for abdulayev
14:29nice shot to the body again it's a setup shot for abdulayev
14:42that same right hand that landed at the end of the last round you saw right there
14:47murataya avoiding it just stepping a little bit out of range
14:54a stiff job to the head from abdulayev takes a body shot from murataya with the left hook downstairs
15:00like the variation from murataya it's kind of confusing abdulayev going to the head with two shots
15:05and then whipping that left hook to the outside to the rib cage i think that's been the biggest
15:11difference in the fight the cadence of abdulayev is the same from round one to now and murataya
15:18yes being able to mix it up yeah he hasn't it's been the same thing from abdulayev he hasn't done anything
15:23different that's the problem and when you have someone as smart as murataya it's easy to figure out and
15:31that's why you're starting to see him start to rev up the offense moving forward
15:38slight feints from murataya here in round number four there's that one two from murataya misses on that one
15:48punch volume and accuracy the difference so far in favor of the california
15:52you got to be a little bit louder a little bit louder 10 seconds how you feeling good condition
16:01wise how about his power no all right still keep finding smart that was the fourth round we got
16:08many rounds but keep picking them far little by little you're breaking them down step in a little
16:11bit closer with a double jab so you could reach in with the right of the right you threw it beautiful
16:15but you were this much far so step in a little bit closer with the jab all right
16:22you're good he's got to close the gap listen all he he has is the counter right hand that's all he's
16:30looking for understand
16:31he's looking for a little bit more
16:44let's take a look at our punch of the night brought to you by miller light it was in our first undercard
16:49fight and it was celestia there's not this behind that jab putting punches together against azat hovenisian
16:56the former world title challenger on his way to a 10-round unanimous decision victory all right mark
17:03krigel we are into round five through four completed here what does your unofficial scorecard look like
17:0940 36 raymond murataya four rounds to nothing first round was debatable the next three we're not going
17:17into the fight he told me he can't match my speed i'd rely if can and there's nothing that i've seen so
17:23far that was disproved that one note of caution though abdullayev does have a habit of uh really
17:30stating some wonderful rallies yes he closes very strong and he's got two 12 round knockouts so you
17:36can never count out zaur abdullayev but look murataya right now is connecting his power shots at a 42
17:43percent cliff compared to 28 for abdullayev and that's dangerous territory tim i'm just waiting on
17:49as the live open up a little bit more if he opens up a little bit more than that it's going to be
17:53allowed for a tie to be able to land more counter shots on against him however murataya's right hand
17:59double right from abdullayev and he's opening up here hey buzzed him he did momentarily buzzed him with
18:07that right hand he's been looking for that right hand all night you're seeing what happened is what's going
18:11on is murataya sitting on that rear leg you know and when you're sitting on that rear leg there's no
18:19movement you can do other than drop down and he's not dropping down further enough to get get away from
18:23that right hand he's right in the line the line of fire for the right hand of abdullayev nice counter
18:30right there by murataya who has been dropped twice against umberto galindo in march of 2023 that was in the
18:36first round and also in round two against cesar valenzuela and so early on he's had trouble he
18:42seems to have gotten past the danger zone but abdullayev just showed that when he lets his hands go
18:49he will be a dangerous fighter it was just a mistake from from murataya that's what it was
18:54a mistake again you jab it from mid-range it gets going to get countered and he timed it perfectly and
19:00at the same time you're going to see every now and then let me see if murataya gets to it i'll try to
19:04i'll try to see if he gets goes into that little posture where he's leaning on his back foot
19:09and he has nowhere to go but down
19:24tag got a little bit too comfortable and after live reminding him hey i'm a world-class fighter too
19:34good jab again you see subtle movement again back on that back foot by murataya there it is again
19:52that lead hand is down as well that right hand can sneak him right over the top
19:56listen put it down guys
20:17don't get lazy trying to be do something different
20:20and don't fucking stay on the woods get away
20:22all right
20:31you connect back to defense
20:37remember you have here here change it up okay
20:41yeah three or four punches together all right how do you feel condition wise all right then let's go
20:49all right uh fifth coming up fifth or sixth six coming up okay let's go we're gonna go half ways
20:56round six of the scheduled 12 round world championship fight bernardo osuna alongside the hall of famer timothy bradley
21:13both fighters making adjustments to check out the philly shell got that lead hand in the sling right
21:18there didn't get that shoulder up quick enough boom gets hit with the right hand
21:21and gets hit with it again beautiful shot right there from avid live way to recognize the guard
21:29change for murataya and taking advantage of it
21:33see about the lives can get those hands going behind that jab that he's able to land right there
21:37and sets up the right to the body yeah muratai answers yeah that's the the same guard that floyd
21:45mayweather made famous you know where he rolls that shoulder inside and he lifts it up to be able
21:53to block right hands and deflect right hands that time murataya using it you can use it well tell you
22:01that much look i noticed all that glitter on his legs on muratai's legs and all over his body but look
22:09at his trunks worry about it you know that glitter getting in the eyes yeah you know what
22:19i'm saying gloves yeah exactly if he if he rubs the gloves on the on his trunks look at you sim
22:26that's why you're the best in the business i appreciate those small nuances that can affect
22:31the fight yeah absolutely right now the nuances of abdulilah getting a little bit more busy behind
22:37that jab and you can see him get a little bit more busy and you start to see him get a little
22:40bit more comfortable now with the speed and the power of murataya and he's starting to get
22:47confidence starting to gain more confidence this body shot from murataya that's one thing we haven't
22:51seen much of in this fight only 13 body shots from murataya compared to 24 for abdulilah
23:01for your roots young man yeah so you got what happened after live is doing is
23:06every now and then he's punching with murataya or he's punching directly afterwards now if i'm more
23:11attire what i'm doing is i'm gonna have something in my back pocket i'm gonna punch i know he's gonna
23:15punch then i'm gonna make a miss and then counter him again so i'm gonna counter the counter
23:19and have the life that's being two steps ahead of your opposition
23:30that's the gap from the last two missing that's it you see that exactly caught him when he's out of
23:35position through a combination didn't have the life comes right back you got to make that second that
23:41counter you got to make that miss and you got a counter make a missing fills the fill the holes
23:46the life doing well to go to the body with that jab
23:59and then you step step in with a double jab
24:16honey or give me an uppercut those uppercuts are hurting him his nose is bleeding already you
24:21know that means they're hurting him right so jab jab and then you step step in with a double jab
24:26right hand and then give me that left to the body or an up or a left uppercut okay when you're on the
24:31outside look for those hooks up behind the gloves yeah that and then the uppercuts after that okay
24:35you're good and your body's right there but dude when you're close not four when you're close don't
24:47you gotta give me defense right away you throw the one two you gotta give me defense again okay
24:55you go for the body net all go for the body net all deep breath through the first half of the fight we
25:02see that murataya landing at a exact same percentage as abdulayev but he's landed 19 more punches abdulayev
25:10with the lead in body punches what i did notice is in up to round four abdulayev was landing actually
25:16murataya was landing at 42 percent clip with his power punches now he's at 34 compared to 32 for
25:23abdulayev is landing more body shots so look this is the first 12 round fight of murataya
25:31and he can pay some good dividends on the back stretch as you know body shots start to wear your
25:37square your opposition down starts to siphon their gas tank take their legs away from them
25:42and punching power so we'll see and we've talked about that late power of abdulayev with those
25:47two 12th round knockouts unknown territory for raymond murataya nicknamed danger but if it gets to that
25:56spot he may be the one in danger against abdulayev after life after after life is like a fighter that
26:04hey he's gonna wear you down you know as long as he's in the fight he's gonna wear you down you
26:09know he can be behind in the fight he's never going to be discouraged he's going to be always on you
26:14putting that pressure on you coming behind that jab like he's doing and again he's looking for you to
26:19weaken that's why he's uses that stab jab so that way later in the fight he can take advantage of
26:25mark kriegel what are they saying in abdulayev's corner edgar he also says listen i need him to start
26:33going to the body so we can wear him down we can take him to deep waters that's our shot
26:38that's exactly what tim has been analyzing that's somewhere that raymond murataya has never been
26:45you know that he feels ready and conditioned for 12 rounds but you don't know until you've been there
26:50yeah absolutely right i mean you go 12 rounds probably two or three times before you actually
26:55come out here and do it but you still you being a fighter and never doing it for the first time
26:59you're still kind of skeptical about it and you want to make sure you manage the rounds well and manage
27:05your energy but so far he's letting abdulayev back in the fight exactly and that's my point the last
27:11two rounds have been abdulayev rounds and abdulayev is the type of fighter that gets a as the fight
27:16goes on he goes starts going downhill and he starts gaining more and more confidence and he's going
27:21to put more and more pressure and start letting his hands go you do not want to let him get the
27:25one momentum going no you don't that's where he's at his best absolutely
27:29you know this is just not a physical game this is just not a physical sport just just physically
27:40it's a mental as well you know it's your will it gets my will that's what it is now if i can kill
27:48your will to fight i have the advantage right but it's also a chess match in there it is it's
27:56skill i'm going to adjust what are you going to counter to my adjustment and how am i going to
28:00react to the adjustment that you're going to make to my counter absolutely solid shots from maritaya
28:07falling for abdulayev here in round number seven right hand from abdulayev may be enough to win the round
28:26so
28:30so
28:38so
28:40so
28:46so
28:50This is a game of adjustments.
29:19And Tim, both Murataya and Abdullayev adjusted to each other's counters there in round 7.
29:25Another excellent counter punch by Murataya with the right hand.
29:32Again, just dipping underneath, squatting.
29:34Boom, coming with a counter.
29:36But again, where's the second punch at?
29:38You know, I'm seeing the single counters.
29:39Where's the second punch?
29:41And then Abdullayev right there making Murataya pay for, again, having that lead hand out at mid-range.
29:46Boom, exposing that left side.
29:49And boom, hitting him with that right hand.
29:52Murataya threw nine punches more than Abdullayev, who landed two more punches than Murataya in round number 7.
29:59In terms of jabs, Timmy, that was going to be a key for Abdullayev in this fight.
30:08And you see that he throws almost 31 in previous fights.
30:13Tonight he's under 20.
30:14And for Murataya, he's above his jab average of 23.2 by 2 per round.
30:20So, you beat a jabber with the jab, and you take away that best weapon.
30:25You can beat the jab.
30:26You can beat a jabber with the jab.
30:28Also, you can throw that right hand and make him stop throwing.
30:34Not only to the hand, but you can also throw the right hand down to the body.
30:38And as you saw right there, Murataya sneaking that right hand downstairs.
30:46Murataya needs to be creative again like he was earlier in this fight.
30:49Because Abdullayev is predictable, but effective.
30:57Exactly.
30:58He's efficient with his work again, and he's patient.
31:01And he's been in fights where he's been down, and he knows he's down.
31:05But he's just waiting on you to, again, lose focus, get tired, and then he starts to pour it on.
31:14Straight right from Murataya that Abdullayev eats and says, I'll have another.
31:19You also got to make, you know, take into account those guys from Dagestan.
31:29Yeah.
31:29They're built different.
31:30They are.
31:30They are.
31:31I'm not going to lie.
31:32They surely are.
31:33When I fought Ruzal Povatnikov, my gosh.
31:35I was like, man, what did you eat, man?
31:37Did he just eat the fish raw out of the sea over there?
31:40Like, he was strong.
31:42Strongest fighter I've ever been to ring with.
31:43Stronger than Manny Pacquiao.
31:45Absolutely.
31:45Punch harder than Manny Pacquiao.
31:47Yes.
31:47Different places in the former USSR.
31:51Siberia.
31:53Pakistan.
31:54But all have that different type of hunger.
31:58Genetic, man.
32:03Good uppercuts under Murataya there.
32:07Pop shot from the outside.
32:08Pop shot from the outside.
32:09Single shots.
32:13Nice uppercut there from Murataya at the end of round eight.
32:17Pop shot from Murataya at the end of round eight.
32:47Watch W Air.
33:00Concept hippociao.
33:01Fuck.
33:05BeLucy.
33:07I was going to lie.
33:09I was going to lie to you.
33:13Now, the student allez me Mercedes.
33:14Ready for round nine of Raymond Murataya, Zahra Abdullayev for the interim IBF lightweight title.
33:28Mark Kriegel, what does your unofficial scorecard look like through eight?
33:3278, 74, six rounds to two.
33:35I do think, you know, these are where Abdullayev distinguishes himself.
33:39These late grinding rounds.
33:41He gets into that 12.
33:42But he's got to start going to the body, like Yasuo said.
33:46And when you look at Raymond Murataya, his money shot this fight, Tim, has been the uppercut.
33:52Uppercut coming around that guard with the left hook, right hand, and then sneaking that uppercut, splitting the guard of Abdullayev.
34:00Again, the creativity.
34:02That's important in this fight.
34:03Creativity.
34:04Because, again, I like Abdullayev, high amateur pedigree.
34:08You know, he's been at the top of the amateur circuit.
34:11He's seen different styles.
34:12He's a smart fighter.
34:15You got to be creative with your offense when you're facing a guy like that.
34:19And this is where now Murataya starts to think about being in unknown territory.
34:24The latest knockout he's ever had in his pro career was a ninth-round stoppage against Humberto Galindo, March of 2023.
34:31He's got an eighth-round stoppage as well in his career against undefeated Diego Torres that same year.
34:39So this is now where he starts to think, okay, what do I have in 10, 11, and 12?
34:44Yeah.
34:46Or he's not thinking.
34:48He's just sitting there fighting.
34:50That's the best case scenario.
34:51That's what you're supposed to do.
34:52You shouldn't be sitting there thinking about, I'm going to be able to go 12 rounds.
34:56No, you're just in there fighting.
34:58Do your job round by round, second by second, minute by minute, which seems to be his mindset.
35:06It better—I mean, look, it better be—I would love to see a little bit more offense coming from Murataya, to be honest with you.
35:12A little bit more combinations again, and being ready and set for a return fire and set him up with something.
35:21Know that.
35:23We know that Abdoulayeva is trying to set Murataya up for the 1-2.
35:27The right hand.
35:28He wants the right hand.
35:29He's sitting down hard on that right hand.
35:31But it comes behind the jab always.
35:34He hasn't thrown a lead right.
35:35And you see him starting to move his hand.
35:37You see the movement twitching his hand.
35:39Abdoulayeva, that right hand.
35:41That's what he wants.
35:41Nice uppercut against him.
35:42He knows uppercuts, yeah.
35:44Absolutely.
35:44Open him up and come around the guard.
35:46See, if Murataya going to get this knockout tonight, he's going to have to go downstairs.
35:52He's going to have to get to the liver, the outside.
35:55Because Abdoulayeva has taken the best shot already, the right hand.
35:59He's taken his best shot.
36:01Only 24 body shots landed so far for Raymond Murataya out of 96.
36:06You see a little bit more combination punching from the California-based fighter.
36:11Nothing spectacular here in round number nine so far.
36:18This bout is scheduled for 12.
36:20Mmm.
36:27Mmm.
36:28Mmm.
36:28Mmm.
37:59You see the power punches landed by round.
38:01The most landed were in round eight in favor of Murataya with eight compared to four for his opponent.
38:08And he's doubled up at 53 to 25.
38:11But this is where Abdullab believes he can start getting to Murataya.
38:16And he ain't got to throw punches.
38:19Yes.
38:19That's what he got to do.
38:20He got to let his hands go.
38:21Look, you came up short in your first attempt for a world championship.
38:25You've earned your way back to this championship.
38:28It's like, come on.
38:29I mean, look.
38:31You've got two rounds to go, son.
38:33Two rounds to go.
38:35Step on the gas.
38:35Let your hands go.
38:39It's like you've got to get out of your comfort zone, man.
38:41You've got to settle out and you've got to go for it.
38:43If he lets his hands go, I promise you he's going to have success.
38:46Promise you.
38:55If you're one of the other titleists, are you looking at Murataya as a potential unification fight differently if he wins tonight based on his performance?
39:07Absolutely not.
39:08I'm salivating.
39:10I'm salivating.
39:11Well, that's what I'm saying because before he was danger and no one was calling out his name.
39:15You think after tonight, maybe people start calling out his name?
39:19Oh, absolutely.
39:19They don't want that smoke because this is a guy that's, again, he's a smart fighter.
39:23However, he's directly in front of you.
39:25You know, pretty simple with his offense, basic with his offense.
39:29Yeah, everybody watching, especially in the 140 pound, 135 pound division saying, oh, he ain't so bad.
39:35He couldn't get rid of this guy.
39:37Devin Haney got rid of this guy.
39:39Broke his orbital bone.
39:40All right.
39:41In that two box, you see Charlie Suarez, the undefeated 36-year-old Filipino, number one contender,
39:48who will be challenging Emmanuel Navarrete, who had weight issues, making 130 pounds.
39:54And this young man has Olympic pedigree.
39:57He's a guy with good feet, quick, explosive hands.
40:01And that is an intriguing matchup for tonight's main event.
40:04Listen, put a bell, guys.
40:25Ready for the action, go.
40:32Ready for the action, go.
40:32Hi, my God.
40:41Good and gentlemen.
40:51Thanks.
41:53Here, let's see what the championship rounds look like.
41:5611 and 12.
41:57Will Zahur Abdullayev give it one last run against Raymond Murataya?
42:04Murphy Thomas Taylor not liking Murataya jousting with that jab.
42:07And that's a nice straight right from Abdullayev and a combination.
42:10You know what I don't like from Abdullayev?
42:13He has no kind of arc.
42:14Oh, right uppercut from Murataya.
42:16No arc, no whatsoever.
42:18He's a one-two puncher.
42:19I mean, I'm waiting.
42:20Can he throw a left hook or a right hook or something?
42:23I mean, something other than a straight one-two.
42:27And yet it was enough to catch Murataya's attention, who came back with a quick combination in that right uppercut, which has been his best punch tonight.
42:34Look, Abdullayev described Murataya this way.
42:42He said, I have observed Murataya in the way he fights.
42:46And he doesn't do anything bad, but he doesn't do anything great.
42:50Okay.
42:54What do you do great?
42:56Because you're getting beat right now.
42:57He threw a left hook.
42:59Abdullayev did.
43:01Was that in the left hook?
43:02Yeah.
43:03Hit the gloves partially.
43:05Hey, look, look.
43:05He threw it.
43:07Hey, you got Murataya now.
43:10He's starting to see everything come.
43:12Everything is starting to come slow to him now.
43:14He's ahead of everything.
43:16He's used to what's coming at him.
43:17He's sitting in the pocket.
43:19Look at him waiting.
43:20Subtle movement left and right.
43:21You look at him on the mid.
43:22Let's see.
43:23Oh, now finding a hook.
43:25About time.
43:28Look at that.
43:31Being smooth.
43:32Nice little body shot.
43:34Good left hook from Abdullayev right there.
43:36Change.
43:37Finally changed it up a bit, right?
43:45But I'm just watching the comfort level of Murataya.
43:47He's doing a hard time right now, being at mid-range.
43:49He's comfortable.
43:52Doesn't seem to be phased at all.
43:57Yeah, he doesn't have that third weapon that Tim Bradley had inside the ring.
44:01It's a little one-two.
44:02And it allows you to throw that uppercut.
44:05Some nice uppercut.
44:06Oh, nice double jab from Murataya.
44:13Upjams.
44:14Upjams.
44:14Upjams.
44:15Upjams.
44:15Upjams.
44:15Upjams.
44:15Upjams.
44:16Upjams.
44:16Upjams.
44:16Upjams.
44:17Upjams.
44:17Upjams.
44:18Upjams.
44:18Upjams.
44:19Upjams.
44:19Easy work.
44:20That's Murataya saying, that's your strength.
44:21Well, I'm going to beat you at your strength.
44:23Nice body work and an uppercut from Murataya starting to open up here in round 11.
44:29And trying to believe he has what it takes to be a champion.
44:36Blood streaming from the nose of Zaur Abdullaya.
44:38Okay.
44:39Let's listen to Robert Garcia.
44:41Fuck it up.
44:42Don't make mistakes, all right?
44:43The way you did this round was beautiful.
44:45You're fucking breaking them apart, all right?
44:47Smart.
44:48Okay?
44:49Stay smart.
44:50Good.
44:51What round?
44:52Last round.
44:53Last round.
44:54Last round.
44:55Okay.
44:56It's a great round from Raymond Murataya there.
45:01He's spamming the uppercuts on the inside.
45:03Absolutely.
45:04Against that high guard.
45:05Oh.
45:06Beautiful shot right there.
45:07You see the legs buckle a little bit from Abdullaya.
45:15Good body shot right there and rolled underneath.
45:17That's textbook.
45:20From Murataya.
45:21And two jab, upjabs, splitting the guard.
45:25Coming from a different, a different level.
45:28With a different angle.
45:30Nice upjabs, split that guard, huh?
45:32Mark Criegel, your unofficial scorecard before the 12th and final round.
45:38One-on-one.
45:39One-on-one.
45:40Abdullaya Dizanaka.
45:41Edgar Yasa says, my guy's making a miss.
45:43He ain't making a bang.
45:44And Murataya coming out strong here in round number 12.
45:50Now, Abdullaya has only landed double-digit connects in round 6 and 7.
45:54And that was 10 and 11 punches landed.
45:57But he does have two career 12-round knockouts.
46:01So, he's still dangerous.
46:03And he believes he can get it right now.
46:07Absolutely.
46:08But, it'd be crazy because Murataya cannot allow that to happen.
46:14I mean, he's winning this fight.
46:16Handily.
46:17And he really, to be honest with you, all he has to do is get through this round.
46:21He's got the fight in the bag.
46:24And if I was in this corner, I'd just say, hey, man, take chances when you need to.
46:28Just box.
46:29Play defense.
46:30Use your jab.
46:31Win the round.
46:32However, don't expose yourself.
46:35Be smart with your defense.
46:36We've got a championship that we just won.
46:39Nice lead right there from Murataya.
46:42Abdullaya still working behind the jab.
46:47Nice body shot.
46:59Again.
47:00In the right.
47:01And then the roll under.
47:02Yep.
47:03After a lot of defense.
47:08Good defense.
47:10I don't know that one.
47:15We're tying the southpaw stance here.
47:17The last minute and 20 seconds.
47:19He's been so effective this round from the orthodox stance.
47:21Yeah, he's in total control, though.
47:23His eyes.
47:24His eyes tells the story from me.
47:26You see his movement.
47:27He's smooth with it.
47:28Making him miss all these punches.
47:30Got his timing down.
47:34It's almost like he knows what he's going to do before he even does it.
47:37Got a little swagger to him here in round 12.
47:39Oh, yeah.
47:40So no questioning his physical condition for this fight.
47:44Nice right there from Murataya.
47:45Not at all.
47:46Not at all.
47:47Good left hand.
47:52He boxing smart this round.
47:54That's exactly what more time he needs right here.
47:57That's a nice right hand from Murataya.
47:58Abdullaya taking more chances.
48:00Now wherever he's opened himself up now.
48:03But he's been able to connect with the right here in the final seconds of this 12th round.
48:07Half a minute left to determine who will be the new interim IBF lightweight world champion.
48:12So far, it looks like Murataya's on his way.
48:15But Abdullaya has 20 seconds to change that with a beautiful right-left combination from Murataya.
48:20Too little.
48:21Too late.
48:22Too late.
48:23From Zawur Abdullaya here as this.
48:24Flat for the tiny 10 seconds.
48:25A new champion will be crowned.
48:26Is it a man they call danger?
48:27Or is it Zawur Abdullaya?
48:28It comes down to how the judges saw this fight.
48:53But they like the effective aggressiveness of Raymond Murataya who landed on 26% of his
48:59total punches compared to 19% for Abdullaya.
49:02There's a lot of experience in Dennis O'Connell, David Southerman.
49:06And look at Steve Weisfeld.
49:07Almost 3,000 fights.
49:09So we're talking about 4,500 fights between them.
49:13And, you know, some solid judges.
49:16And let's take a look at some of the best action from this world title fight, Timmy.
49:22It was Murataya's night tonight.
49:24You know, I told you, out the gate, he looked sharp.
49:27Landing his combinations.
49:29Good counter-punching.
49:31You know, he went downstairs, upstairs.
49:33I mean, he did a little bit of everything.
49:35Abdullaya was strong in spots.
49:38Used his jab well.
49:39Especially down to the body.
49:41He had a couple of occasional right-hands over the top.
49:45Catching Murataya while he was sleeping.
49:48While he was sleeping.
49:49However, I mean, I thought it was an easy fight.
49:51I mean, an easy fight to judge.
49:53You know, I feel there's no doubt in my mind that Murataya won this fight tonight.
49:57Congratulations to him and his team.
49:59I know the scorecards haven't been read yet.
50:02However, I thought it was a pretty easy fight for a guy like Murataya.
50:07He was extremely skillful, talented, and tonight, like you said, it's his night.
50:12Sometimes the numbers tell a story.
50:14140 landed compared to 87 for Abdullaya.
50:17The comparison, also the body shots is where Abdullaya really shined.
50:21And we expected it to beat the Japs for Abdullaya.
50:24But you also have to look at the faces.
50:26And they tell the story of the fight.
50:29And you can see the demeanor.
50:31They do tell a story.
50:32They do tell a story.
50:33However, just to let you know, fights are not judged on damage.
50:37They're not judged on the way a fighter's face looks.
50:39They're judged on the effect of punches being laid.
50:42Alright, before we get the official scorecard, let's go to Mark Kriegel for his unofficial scorecard.
50:49118, 110.
50:52Murataya was not just the quicker fighter, but the guy with more imagination.
50:56Let's send it up to the classy Jimmy Lennon Jr. for the official decision from the judges.
51:02Ladies and gentlemen, after 12 rounds of action, we have a unanimous decision.
51:06Here the score totals.
51:08Judge at ringside Steve Weisfeld scores about 118 to 110.
51:14Judges Dennis O'Connell and David Sutherland both scored about 119 to 109.
51:21All three in favor of the winner by way of unanimous decision.
51:26And he is now the interim IBF lightweight world champion, Raymond Danger Murataya.
51:40Southern California has a new champion.
51:42He's the interim.
