00:00you wanted a photocopy of stage one is it what you wanted did it happen how you wanted
00:10yeah this was the plan from this morning to put a to put a good pace on the long climb to
00:17control it for ourselves and and give me a breath there so i didn't have to go over the limit and
00:24yeah everyone from the team just did super amazing on the climb and also before
00:28uh and then from the climb born it was controlling as far as we could and then we hope for some drag
00:36race and it was exactly as we wanted and then chicone and and magic they're doing an amazing lead
00:42out so wow to have two stage victories already and and now back in the pink that's exactly what
00:49we wanted today is it even more amazing from chicone a climber to be with you in the final
00:55kilometer yeah i wouldn't say so but it shows something about his character and the person
01:00he is that he has ambition somewhere else but still he's here committed to the team and and helping me
01:06in a lead out like this uh this shows what we can do on little trek and we're supporting each other
01:12everywhere even if it's not in our positions of the race so i can't wait for to come to the mountains
01:19and give back to chicco were you surprised to see primos roglic next to you within one kilometer to go
01:24did you think he wanted to keep the malia rosa no of course i'm not surprised with this guy he's uh
01:30he also wants to be up there to avoid any accidents or anything so and for sure if he could keep the
01:37jersey he would like to but uh yeah it didn't surprise me to see him there at all thank you very much thank you
01:43matt the speaker on the finish told is the shape of his life can you say something about that
01:52i don't know i think you guys you say this every time we perform in a certain in a long period and then
01:59it's always talking about the shape of my life but i'm i'm in a really good shape and i
02:03many we managed to carry it on from the classics until now so yeah i can't complain
02:10it's a similar question because you have been very consistent in the classic period and now it's
02:22your best start ever in a grand tour so this is also my question i mean if we are seeing about your
02:30sensation if you are seeing the best much better than ever i don't know if you are this feeling
02:36now but i i i want to say also we have to take into account that you know these stages fits me
02:41really really well and they're like suited for me and then of course it's it's not easier but it's
02:46easier to show what i'm good at if we started with one flat sprint and then today i would maybe
02:54finish fifth on the first sprint and then only it's not only but then one victory today and then we
03:01might not talk about the same you know but now the first three days here in albania just suits me
03:06really really good and then you know we trained really hard to be in like top shape to be able to
03:13do this now so it would have looked completely different if if the first day was a proper sprint
03:18day and so on so you know we also have to take stuff like this in in account before we yeah chris
03:26what jack he's really growing into a powerhouse right magic is absolutely amazing man this kid he
03:36has such a big future ahead of him uh and and he shows again today what he's able to do but you know
03:44we also have to watch out we're not putting a lock on this guy because he can win also a lot of bike
03:49races but after this man he i will i tell you guys i will do everything i can to make to make it
03:55possible for him to have a stage win in this race as well because he deserves it so much he was there
04:00in all the classics for me and now again here he's he's a machine and i'm so proud of being able to
04:07have this guy riding with me because he makes a big difference press room sala stampa
04:16hi matt congrats uh on uh this day i spoke with maximum four uh about the the sunday stage and he said i
04:23i think it's too hard for matt what about you were you doubtful about about your capacity to to win
04:29this stage uh yeah i was in doubt also you know when you look at the the the stage before we were
04:41like okay this is it's gonna be on the limit for sure and and also if other teams really wanted to
04:46race on this climb i would have been out of the back door and you also see it when uae they wanted
04:52to have the front for the downhill they speed off 500 meters to the top and then i start straight away
04:57to go backwards so if teams would have raised early on on the climb i will i would have been dropped
05:04hopefully i would have been able to come back on the downhill but they would have dropped me on the
05:08climb so uh this climb was definitely on the limit but uh today wasn't wasn't over and everything
05:16there were less than four weeks between roubaix and giro what did you do after a bed did you
05:20ethic arrest the compression or just talking to any to get in shape here because you are even better
05:25than roubaix it seems uh i won't say i was i'm better than in roubaix but uh i took a week off
05:33seven days i didn't touch the bike at all and then i just started to ride a bit of endurance for a
05:38while and then the last week i had two blocks like two three day blocks so three days one day rest and three
05:44days with you know some my coach coaches calling it a spicy intervals so uh he made it painful for six
05:53days total and then we uh we believe there was enough to be in in a top shape here judo that's
06:02also the team little track i mean i'm seeing the results maybe the part in the first part of this
06:09year i mean after uae maybe the best team i mean and uh in this year the team has grown a lot
06:16that you are a witness of this uh which are the main factors for this growth from your point of view
06:25one thing is we have our team manager full back on on the team you know we didn't see him for a few
06:30years because of sickness so now we have one guy back in control and this we feel on the team we feel it
06:36you know with the pressure and how he deals with everyone in uh you know staff and so on we have
06:41more people on the team uh we are more on training camps uh every you know small details with nutrition
06:49bikes aerodynamics clothing everything is more suited to each rider um and then just the fact that we have
06:57more people to look for the riders so you know maybe a coach before had 10 riders and now we have
07:04six or seven riders with one coach it gives everyone less stress and more commitment to each rider and i
07:11think that makes a a big difference for us right now
