00:00Hello, my name is Amber Allett and I'm a journalist specialising in education.
00:05The summer A-level and GCSE exam season can be a very stressful time for young people,
00:10with sixth form options, future A-level subjects and even conditional university offers hanging in
00:15the balance. If the exam stress and anxiety is getting to be a little bit too much, here are
00:21three resources students can use to get a little extra support. The first is the official Ofqual
00:27Guide for Young People Dealing with Exam Pressure, which you can find for free online. As well as
00:32practical revision planning tips, it's full of mental health guidance with realistic steps students
00:37can take to feel a little better about exams, all the way up to controlling physical anxiety
00:42symptoms in an exam situation. Another great resource is the Student Room, a UK-based online
00:49forum where students can chat about GCSEs and A-levels, universities, student finance and more,
00:55with fellow students going through the same things. The site is moderated by a team of staff and helpers
01:01to keep users safe and even has its own dedicated mental health message board. Finally, if things get
01:08particularly tough and you're really struggling, try Childline. It's a free and confidential service
01:13that connects under-19s with trained counsellors and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
01:19You can reach out to them at any time by calling 0800 1111.
