00:00Hi there, we've started the week with a brief interlude between two spells of dry and sunny
00:08weather. High pressure has been dominating our weather, but low pressure has appeared
00:12from the south during the last couple of days. That's brought some showers and thunderstorms,
00:16those tending to fade after the sun goes down, and then lengthy clear spells overnight, although
00:20the old shower in places couldn't be ruled out. Some low cloud will creep into the north
00:25and the east of Scotland and northeast England as well, and temperatures are all dipping
00:30to the high single figures or low double figures. So, a bright start for most. First thing Tuesday,
00:36certainly more sunshine around across central and southern and western parts of the UK, and
00:41will keep the sunny skies in many places going into the afternoon. Now, the low cloud across
00:45northeastern parts of the UK tends to retreat back to the coast, and the cloud across south
00:51Wales into central southern England will tend to bubble up as temperatures rise into the afternoon.
00:56That could give a few more scattered showers and thunderstorms. Again, these will be hit and miss,
01:02I think fewer of them compared with the last couple of days, but where you do catch a shower,
01:08there's always the risk of some heavier rain in a short space of time, as well as some hail and lightning.
01:14But, no particularly useful widespread rain to talk about, and actually away from this small
01:22part of the UK, south Wales into parts of southern England, it's a dry and sunny day once again. A
01:28little cooler on the North Sea coast, temperatures elsewhere generally a degree or so down. On Mondays,
01:33the warmest spot could be the West Highlands, up to 26 or 27 Celsius. Into Tuesday evening,
01:39the showers rumble on for a couple of hours into south Wales, as well as the Midlands, but eventually
01:45they fade away. And then a dry night for most, although one or two showers could reappear into
01:50parts of Cornel, and some drizzly showers running down the North Sea coast, as well as low cloud
01:56once again creeps inland. But for many, it's a clear night, and perhaps cooler night compared with
02:03recent nights, with temperatures dipping into the mid to high single figures. Nevertheless, we've got
02:08high pressure reasserting itself once again, as the low that brought the thundery showers moves away.
02:14That high building from the north, that means a bit of a east to northeasterly breeze, always cooler
02:19on the North Sea coast. But where we've got sunshine elsewhere, well the highest temperatures will once
02:24again be in the west and the south. Now we start off Wednesday with low cloud across parts of Northern
02:30England and Scotland. That tends to run its way down the North Sea coast, so perhaps entering Norfolk by the
02:37afternoon. Otherwise, it's sunny skies on the whole. One or two showers could again form across parts of
02:43the south west, most especially parts of Cornwall and West Devon. But they are few and far between
02:50compared with recent days. For the vast majority, it's simply a dry and sunny day with high pressure
02:56once again building. And temperatures reaching 20 or 21 Celsius, so a little bit fresher. And on that
03:02North Sea coast with a brisk breeze, it's going to feel considerably cooler. And we keep that high
03:06pressure into Thursday, Friday and indeed the weekend. So that means it's going to stay dry for
03:11the rest of the week and there will be plenty more sunshine to come as well.
