00:00hey ladies I wanted to share my heart with you share a thought that the Lord
00:06put into my heart about two or three weeks ago that I was supposed to be
00:11speaking on this past week at a prayer event in right outside DC in Ashburn
00:17Virginia and unfortunately I became ill there were some other things going on
00:23and I was forced to cancel my flight and everything on my agenda was erased
00:29and my agenda became laying down on the couch and lying still and it's amazing
00:37what happens to us when we are still it's amazing what we hear when we are still
00:45it's amazing how sensitive and vulnerable and we just we hear what God is trying
00:52to speak to us through the word through that still small voice and I am so
00:57thankful for God's grace and mercy and lately that the Psalm 51 10 create in
01:05me a clean heart renew a right spirit in me has become my prayer like daily I'm
01:11praying it a lot lately because I want to be so right in my spirit my heart my
01:17mind my soul I want to be a Christ follower I want to do like we say what
01:23would Jesus do I want to follow Jesus not anyone else yeah I have a lot of
01:30heroes out there my mom for one she is a woman of prayer faith and of the word and
01:36I could talk about her for a long time my father who was passionate about the
01:40things of God who had a worldwide vision he was a restored to the fallen he had
01:45major compassion he built a great church I think about 18 to 20 daughter works in
01:51California he was just an amazing guy but more than anything I want to look at
01:57the life of Christ I want to look at the words of Christ and follow him but I wanted
02:02to share my heart just a little bit we're going on two minutes I don't want to
02:06make this a long clip because I know you can lose people's attention if you go too
02:10long but I want us to go to Matthew 26 where Jesus and his disciples went to the
02:16garden of Gethsemane and to pray and wait and the Lord actually took Peter and
02:24two other of the disciples into another area of the garden and he asked him to
02:30watch and pray and he went to battle the Lord did and he was agonizing in the
02:37spirit because he knew the crucifixion was coming soon he knew Judas was coming to
02:41betray him soon and he was agonizing he didn't want to go through all that hell all
02:46that pain all that suffering he knew what was coming and he had warned his
02:51disciples and told them about it but it's almost like they didn't get it they
02:55were kind of out of touch with what was going on with Christ's reality and so he
03:01would come back and he would say you guys are sleeping you need to be praying I'm
03:05desperate hello but here a little point right here I want to make is there are
03:14times that sometimes you are going to be battling your own battle you're gonna be
03:19fighting in the trenches on your own no one's going to feel that passion no one's
03:24going to feel that burden no one is going to feel those tears like you are
03:28feeling no one's going to feel the anguish of that lost wayward child no one
03:32is going to feel the call that you are feeling and you can't sleep at night or the
03:37situation going on at work or even at church in the ministry wherever you are
03:41sometimes it's just you and your heavenly father and you are bearing your soul you
03:47are pouring your heart out to him and that's what Jesus is doing at the garden
03:51none of them were none of them have the burden that God had he knew what was
03:55coming he felt the heaviness they didn't feel it they were sleeping they were out of
03:59touch with what was going on in the spirit real quickly let's move forward when when
04:07Jesus came back I believe it was the third time he was like all right my time
04:11has come you guys wasted all this time sleeping you didn't help war with me in
04:15the spirit you didn't help hold me up in prayer sometimes we feel like that no one
04:20helped me up I'm all alone it's a part of life sometimes we just fight through the
04:24things even if no one's there for us I'm not I'm not putting this down there's a lot
04:28of people here for us but sometimes we are fighting our own battles and we just have
04:33to plow through as my father used to always say just plow through it but when
04:39the time came Jesus knew the chief priest the Pharisees the religious elite the
04:46servants of the high priest the soldiers they were all coming and leading them was
04:50Judas the guy who betrayed him someone close to his heart and this is where I
04:57want to zone in on when they came Peter became angry and he pulled out his sword
05:04and he sliced that ear of the servant of the high priest and it fell off and Peter
05:11was feeling all about I'm gonna just kill everybody here and what I don't care what
05:16Peter did what did Jesus do Jesus picked up the ear he put it back in place on the
05:25enemy made the enemy whole the people that were coming to destroy him he made
05:30them whole think about that and he told Peter put your sword away if you've lived
05:35by the sword you died by the sword Jesus knew what was going on in the spirit
05:42Peter was naive gullible he was out of touch with what was going on in the spirit
05:47because why he wasn't praying he wasn't about his father's business when Jesus
05:54asked him to watch and pray and I want to just leave that thought with you when
05:58you feel like slicing someone's ear off talking about more verbally when you feel
06:02like just lashing out telling someone like it is you know it's so easy to do
06:07nowadays in this culture there's so much chaos going on there's just dysfunction
06:12going on everywhere so and it seems like a lot of people are just angry no just
06:17anybody everybody's snapping and we get we're overly sensitive one person says this
06:21to me we read into it we get mad I'm gonna I'm gonna respond back on Facebook
06:25you know I'm gonna I'm gonna post something that they'll be watching they'll
06:28know I'm speaking to them you know we're kind of all sitting around wondering who
06:32are they talking to they're talking to someone on their friends list am I the
06:35one you know that's kind of where we are in a culture but I just want to
06:38encourage you women to go to prayer take your issues to God in prayer and pray it
06:46through and let God fight your battles instead of fighting war with war of
06:53words like we do so often retaliate with prayer let prayer become your weapon and
07:02that's all I want to say is we have got to pray more we have got to stop letting
07:08our emotions rule us and control us and we're out of control we're making decisions
07:14out of frustration because our emotions are taking over relax go somewhere where
07:21you can talk to God in your car if it's the only private place and pour your heart
07:26out to God and let him cover your mouth let him give you peace let him give you
07:32wisdom pray for wisdom we need wisdom like we never needed it before and put
07:37down the sword God bless you
