Transkrip
00:00It's going to be very tough indeed.
00:02The riders have been out for the sighting lap
00:03and they get themselves ready
00:05for moto
00:07number two. The Red Bull KTM's
00:10Andrew Adamo and
00:12Sasha Koonan side by side.
00:15Fly racing
00:1615 second board goes up.
00:18The track drying out but it is still gnarly
00:20and treacherous. Once again the start
00:22will be vitally important
00:24as we wait for the five second
00:26board.
00:26All eyes on the starting gate
00:30and away we go.
00:32Adamo with a good run down. The inside
00:34had an opportunity to look across there
00:36and looks like he's going to grab
00:38the whole shot once again. Very close
00:40because Simon Langenfelder ran the outside.
00:42Oh he goes down. Oh
00:44no. Simon Langenfelder exactly
00:46what he didn't want there. Going for the lead
00:48the front wheel washing out
00:50on him and Langenfelder
00:52who can ill afford to drop championship points
00:54is right at the back of the field
00:56is that McLaren down the inside.
00:59No it's
00:59the 99 of Guylain Farez
01:01the second of the Triumph round is having a brilliant start
01:04here and he is right there
01:06with the Red Bull factory KTMs.
01:10Well we'll pause for a moment to see
01:12who it is that's taking the lead now because
01:14it's neck and neck between the two Red Bull KTMs
01:16at the front and this time
01:18it is Sasha Koonan who goes to the front.
01:19So an incident filled
01:2140 seconds at the start of this moto.
01:23Oh it's a Husqvarna I think went down in about fifth position.
01:29Now that would be either kind of all for Liam Evertz.
01:32Oh it's Evertz.
01:33Nightmare day for Liam Evertz.
01:36Yet again going down
01:37at the start of the moto.
01:39So I think he's got some sort of trouble there
01:42trying to get the bike going again.
01:43He hit the handlebars in frustration
01:45and another rider going off the course
01:48rejoins.
01:49Now
01:50that's
01:51that's Faruqi Ozaki that went off the track.
01:54He was in seventh position
01:55and I think that will be okay
01:59if a rider goes off the track
02:00they should
02:01ride at a reduced speed
02:02rejoin the circuit at the
02:05safest convenience
02:06but not gain an advantage
02:08and well he's behind
02:09Benestad now
02:10so he's lost some position
02:11so I don't think
02:12he will hit any trouble.
02:14There's Oriel Olivier
02:14the SS24 Gabry Rider
02:17and there's Evertz
02:17still trying to get the bike going
02:19and it's obscured by the sponsor
02:21banners there
02:21so I can't see what the problem is
02:22with Evertz
02:23but he looks
02:25oh look at that
02:26the bike is stuck in the mud
02:28let's have a look at that again
02:29we saw it at the back of the screen
02:31Evertz going off the side of the circuit
02:32oh he tangled
02:35he tangled with Zanke
02:37so Evertz caught up in that
02:40and the bike is stuck in the mud
02:41now you'll see that the track itself
02:43the racing line
02:44is quite dry
02:45the organisers have been hard at work
02:47all afternoon
02:48preparing the track as much as they can
02:49there was a delay at the start
02:51of the first motor
02:51whilst they scraped the topsoil away
02:53remember a lot of that
02:55is deposited on the side of the circuit
02:57away from the actual racing track
03:00as it were
03:00but if they come to grief
03:03and go off the side of the track
03:04they may well hit that sloppy mud
03:06and it is like quicksand
03:08they just can't get the bike going again
03:09so Liam Evertz has got some real work
03:11to try and get back into this moto
03:12meanwhile Sasha Kernan leads the way
03:16much like he did in moto number one
03:18he finished only 19th at the end
03:20after a trip into the fencing
03:22but he's okay
03:23and Sasha Kernan
03:26yet again showing he's got the raw pace
03:30there's the way to yellow
03:32that will be for Liam Evertz
03:33I think they're still trying to get that bike
03:34out to the slot
03:35off the side of the track
03:36the thing with the mudder race
03:41you see the world's best riders
03:43almost looking like Clubman Juniors
03:46when they get stuck in the mud
03:47just shows how tough the conditions are
03:49right there
03:50and I would say even with the track
03:53triangle at this if this was a Clubman race
03:55I think the riders would even struggle
03:57to complete a lap here
03:59it just goes to show the skill
04:00and the speed of these Grand Prix riders
04:03and they're starting to settle
04:05into quite a nice rhythm here
04:06but what a brilliant start here
04:07for the number 99 in third place
04:10Leon Fares
04:11Valzani in Spain
04:16and he was racing last year
04:20when I privately entered KTM 26
04:22in the MX2 rankings
04:23looking very good at the moment
04:306.2 seconds of drift on the leader
04:32as Adamo
04:34this is way down
04:36into the right-hander
04:37Sasha Kernan controlling the race
04:39quite nicely at this stage
04:40as far as in third
04:44so DeWolf clear in fourth
04:46and another great start here
04:49to Mathis Valar
04:50French rider
04:51on the factory KTM
04:54there he is
04:56the number 317
04:59he's currently in sixth place
05:01Valar
05:02last year's EMX 250 champion
05:05there he is the 317
05:08he was a lot of people's tip
05:09at the start of the season
05:10as a championship contender
05:12but injury really has dented his progress
05:14it's put him out of the title race
05:17for definite
05:18but he is really coming back
05:19with a bang here in Portugal
05:21he was
05:21sixth in moto number one
05:24and that was a bit unfortunate for him
05:27as well he dropped the bike in the late stages
05:29in some of the soft mud
05:30and he was in fourth place
05:33so Valar
05:34did be disappointed with that
05:35but certainly can take
05:37heart from this progress
05:38so far in moto
05:39number two
05:39running well in fifth place
05:40not too far behind the red plate
05:42hole in Kai DeWolf
05:42so if he can just live
05:45with the series leader
05:46show he's got the pace
05:48to match the front runners
05:48he'll be very pleased
05:49going into Spain next week
05:51Valar was also the FIM Junior
05:58world most cross champion
06:00on the 737 Gas Gas back in 2023
06:03runner up in the EMX 125 championship
06:06so he is very much
06:08one of the young guns
06:09coming through the system
06:10still only 17 years of age
06:18as he makes his way down
06:20let's have a look at the virtual podium
06:22focus on Valar
06:23he's not too far behind
06:25getting on the podium at this stage
06:27it's all down to Simon Langenfelder
06:29who's looking to try
06:30and fight his way
06:31back through the field here
06:32because he went down
06:33in the opening stages
06:34so Langenfelder
06:35still on the podium
06:36but if he gets trouble
06:38then Valar could even
06:39get onto the podium here
06:42which would be a great result
06:42for him when he consider
06:43what a difficult season
06:44he's had so far
06:45the 2025 season
06:48that promised so much for him
06:49Langenfelder incidentally
06:50is now up to 9th place
06:52got past Benestan
06:52he's just behind
06:53Carlos Rizlas
06:56on the Monster Energy
06:57factory Yamaha
06:57at this stage
06:58as we watch the riders
07:02make their way
07:02around the Agata circuit
07:03really has dried out
07:07since Moto 1
07:07but that's not to say
07:09it's any easier
07:09of those huge
07:10gnarly ruts
07:11plenty of sloppy
07:14wet soil
07:15dotted around the track
07:16on certain offline sections
07:17as well
07:17ready to catch out
07:18the riders
07:18we saw at the start
07:19of this moto
07:20Liam Ebbets
07:20well and truly
07:22stuck in the mud
07:23as oh
07:23down goes the number 22
07:25that's a bit further down
07:26that's David Vasaras
07:27trying to get back
07:31on the machine
07:31get back underway
07:33I think the rain
07:33is starting to fall
07:34there was the risk
07:35of some rain
07:35we thought it had passed
07:36so this could
07:37make things very tricky
07:40indeed
07:40for the remainder
07:41of the race
07:42so Vasaras on the JM Honda
07:44gets back underway
07:45but as I'm sure you can see
07:46the umbrellas are out
07:47in the crowd
07:48and the torrential rain
07:50has returned a lot stronger
07:51than forecast here
07:52there was a possibility
07:53of rain
07:53I don't think it was going
07:55to fall as heavy
07:56as this though
07:56there is a torrential
07:58rain shower out there
07:59so this track
08:01that was starting to dry
08:02out will get a bit slippery
08:03and Tricky once again
08:05lap by lap
08:06and these half and half
08:09wet and dry conditions
08:09are very tough
08:11indeed for the riders
08:12the track is constantly
08:13changing
08:13so Kernan still leading
08:18by 3.6 seconds
08:19Adamo comfortable
08:20in second
08:21three and a half seconds
08:22down of course
08:22but he'll be happy
08:23with that so far
08:24Guilherme Fares
08:25on the triumph
08:26in third
08:26so the young Spaniard
08:29leading the way
08:30replacing Mikel O'Hara
08:32who aged out
08:33to the MX2
08:34got the 23 year old
08:35age category
08:36in MX2
08:36so Hara
08:38is going to be racing
08:39in the US Nationals
08:41later in the season
08:42for triumph
08:42ahead of becoming
08:43their MXGP rider
08:45when they make
08:45their Grand Prix debut
08:46in 2026
08:49so Guilherme Fares
08:50who essentially
08:53is the number two rider
08:54in the team
08:54is running very strongly
08:56so far
08:56showing he's got
08:57the pace to run
08:57near the front
08:58that rain shower
09:01seems to have
09:02evaded for now
09:03let's hope
09:03that's the case
09:04as the track
09:05is starting to come
09:05towards the riders
09:06quite well
09:07but as you can see
09:07look how much
09:08the riders are
09:08having to work here
09:09every time
09:10they go over the jumps
09:11they're being spat
09:12sideways over the jump
09:13the bikes
09:13struggling to stay
09:15under control
09:16so the riders
09:16really having to
09:17work hard
09:18in these gnarly
09:19tough conditions
09:20look at the
09:20deep rut
09:21on the inside
09:22line there
09:23as Rieslis
09:24forces the Yamaha
09:26through there
09:27there's Langenfeld
09:28on the outside
09:29oh
09:29gets a bit cross
09:30rotting
09:30coming out of the
09:30corner
09:31but stays on the
09:31bike
09:32keeps the momentum
09:32going
09:33looking for the
09:35smoother lines
09:36as he makes
09:36his way through
09:37he can see
09:37switching away
09:38from those gnarly
09:39inside line
09:39ruts
09:40the wider
09:40outside line
09:41a lot longer
09:43but potentially
09:43better traction
09:44out to the
09:45corner
09:45oh
09:46almost got
09:47cross rutted
09:47there
09:47keeping the
09:48pressure
09:48on Rieslis
09:49down the hill
09:51he goes
09:51and still
09:52keeping that
09:53pressure on
09:54and watch
09:58Langenfelder
09:59out of the
09:59corner
09:59squares the
10:00turn off
10:00lovely move
10:01there from
10:01the German
10:02as he goes
10:03round the
10:03outside
10:04and into
10:048th position
10:05so Simon
10:05Langenfelder
10:06with the rain
10:07continuing to
10:08fall
10:08again
10:09look at the
10:09crowd
10:09all the
10:10umbrellas
10:10are back
10:10up
10:11that rain
10:11shower
10:12has come
10:12back once
10:13again
10:13it's been
10:14coming and
10:14going over
10:15the last few
10:15minutes
10:15we can see
10:17it's starting
10:17to make the
10:18track a bit
10:18more wet
10:19that racing
10:19line
10:20a few more
10:20puddles
10:21starting to
10:21develop out
10:22there
10:22oh Langenfelder
10:24hit a rut
10:24on the
10:24inside line
10:25that's the
10:25risk now
10:26the racing
10:26line
10:27the dry
10:29the dry line
10:29gets more
10:30and more
10:30rutted
10:30and as
10:32that rut
10:32gets dug
10:33out
10:33even
10:33more
10:33there
10:34is
10:34the
10:34risk
10:34the riders
10:35struggle
10:35for momentum
10:36bikes
10:37grounding out
10:37in the rut
10:38that would be
10:38above the
10:38axles
10:39if you went
10:41and stood in that
10:41rut after the
10:42moto
10:42some of these
10:43ones on the
10:43inside line
10:44you'd be at least
10:44knee high
10:45in the soil
10:46just goes to
10:48show how deep
10:49they are
10:49here's the battle
10:50further on
10:50with Fares
10:51putting the
10:52red plate
10:53holder
10:53Kaido
10:53off
10:53under a bit
10:54of pressure
10:54here
10:54it seems
10:55squaring the
10:55turnoff
10:56much like
10:56Langenfelder
10:56did
10:56looking for
10:57the smoother
10:58line
10:58and Fares
10:59pressuring
11:00DeWolf
11:00Langenfelder
11:04still trying to
11:04fight his way
11:05back through
11:05the field
11:05it's very
11:06close
11:06in the MX2
11:07title race
11:08Kaido
11:09off
11:10narrowly
11:11holding on
11:11to the red
11:11plate
11:12coming into
11:12this round
11:12from Langenfelder
11:13and he's
11:1420 points
11:15ahead of
11:15Adamo
11:16the first
11:17moto
11:17got underway
11:18earlier
11:18so Andrew
11:20Adamo
11:20would be
11:20pleased
11:21with that
11:21second
11:21place
11:21for now
11:22you do
11:24wonder if
11:24team orders
11:25may be
11:26coming to
11:26play
11:26whether
11:26they'd
11:27like
11:27Adamo
11:27to get
11:28past
11:28Koonan
11:28later
11:28on
11:29but
11:29I
11:30think
11:30at
11:30this
11:30stage
11:30they'll
11:31be
11:31more

12:27we'll have a look at those times as the moto goes on if it gets more wet weather the condition will slow down they're still maintaining a good pace out there as you approach the half distance of this race
12:39we've just got just over 17 and a half minutes plus the two laps remaining so plenty of time to go in this second mx2 moto
12:49as we watch
12:51as we watch Natisvalan coming under some pressure now from Faruqi Ozanki one of the two young guns in the hrc hopper stable
12:56one of the two young guns in the hrc hopper stable
13:01and further back there Karsvalk doing battle here with Simon Langenfelder Langenfelder now up to eighth position and he knows of course he can ill afford to lose points I don't know if he knows that Everett is out but that won't really concern him too much at this stage he'll be more concerned with the
13:19trying to get back up there with Kai de Waal
13:20they're running so closely in the mx2 title race he needs to get back what points he can here but Karsvalk
13:27looking very good here on the 172 making his way through the waves Langenfelder keeping the pressure on
13:34while holding the inside line
13:45Karsvalk having a strong season so far
13:48and Langenfelder managing to get down the outside
13:56very good in the Dutch masters and of course the British motocross champions as well the young dutchman
14:00and uh still there in eighth position despite Langenfelder getting through so Langenfelder up to seventh
14:06he's catching up with
14:08Zanke at the moment so Faruqi Obenk Zanke just behind Natisvalan
14:12who in turn is putting the pressure on William Fares for fourth place
14:18Langenfelder closing up on these riders all the time you can see the riders still trying to find those
14:22trial lines out to the corners getting the best traction they can
14:25those tricky ruts going very heavy very tough for the riders
14:34when you see these machines close up check out the mud on the bikes it's all over the plastics all
14:38over the metal and all of that mud carries weight which makes the bikes harder to ride
14:43thanks a hand to go that's Valerio Lata there's that slob that we were talking about on the side of the circuit when you go offline
14:50it's all congealed and it's just like it's almost like wet cement really
14:54you can see Lata even struggling to pick his boots out of the mud
15:00and he's had a very impressive turn of form recently the young Italian but Portugal really has been a
15:06a date of a get for him put a solid ninth in moto number one struggle in the mud as Valan goes to the pass on Fares
15:16squares the turn off tries to get the traction up the hill but will lose out on the wider line
15:21trying to keep that momentum going of course he can't be too aggressive out of the corner
15:24he doesn't want to risk getting cross rutted but he's maintaining some good pace out there
15:31I think Valan up the hill he goes the number four one seven still keeping the pressure
15:36on Fares
15:41and when we watch him going through the waves you can see how much that factory Kawasaki
15:46moving about in the slippery mud Valan just losing a little bit of ground as he goes through the huge
15:52rut on the inside line meanwhile back at the front Andrea Adamo is just slowly starting to put the pressure
16:00on his teammate Sasha Kernan here they go through the left-hander Adamo looking for lines
16:10and Adamo really
16:14pressurizing young Belgian squares the turnoff down the inside goes for the block pass and a brilliant move
16:19there Andrea Adamo back to the front looking to take a double motor victory getting to the lead Kernan down to second place
16:28but they are still well clear of Kaido Wolff here so Adamo in first finding some good lines there
16:37catching up on Brasaras who's carrying a lap down in 20th position that was dropping the bike earlier on
16:43Kaido Wolff still in third but nearly 15 seconds oh and there's another rider in trouble that's one of the
16:47Honda's that's Zanke Ferruccio Zanke off into the outside of the circuit into the swap and you can
16:54really see how much it affects the riders when they go into that soft stuff really struggling to get
16:58going again let's have a look back at what happened for the fight for the lead Adamo with a well-worked
17:03move here that's about two or three corners in the making goes to the outside now immediately switches
17:08squares the turnoff so turns in early to go down the inside and quite fairly block passing his teammate
17:15coming out of the corner so there was no risk of any collision there but blocking his teammate to
17:19prevent the repass out of the corner and that was really a well-worked textbook move from Andrea Adamo
17:25now making his way through the waves they really had to work hard to make that section rideable
17:32scraping the worst of the water and the mud off that part of the track earlier on this afternoon
17:39so this i believe is what happened to Zanke oh a bit cross-rutted went straight off the side of the
17:44circuit into the mud and did well to keep it going there
17:52rejoin the track safely and it's almost getting like an enturo in places when you think of some of those
17:59tough conditions they have to deal with in the extreme mud
18:04runs going deeper and deeper on those racing lines but the two red bull ktms running very well first
18:11and second place so far the wall still in third part is fourth that is far in fifth like it fell
18:17up to sixth position now and he's not too far behind the frenchman so there he is he's had a brilliant
18:24right so far he was battling for the lead the front wheel washing out and down he went on the first
18:28that but he really has got his head down and got to work in the second moto catching up on Matisse
18:34Valar the fight for fifth position here Valan holds the inside line
18:40still keeping the pressure off Guileam Fares on the triumph he's having a brilliant right in fourth
18:44position the third place kind of all pretty much on his own at the moment and unless anything drastic
18:51happens that is where he will stay in terms of the pace the top two now well clear
18:56Adamo incidentally setting the fastest lap of the race 210.437 on the previous lap so despite the rain
19:03the pace is still very much there on this circuit as we focus on this fight for fourth position so
19:09Guileam Fares still in fourth as the rain yet again starts to tumble Valar still in fifth place
19:15Langenfeld keeping the pressure on but once again the torrential rain really coming back with a
19:22vengeance it's been coming and going throughout the second moto now you remember of course on the
19:28racing line there's a little bit of hardback starting to show on the racing line and those hardback lines
19:33will get very slippery indeed so it means that lap by lap and almost corner by corner the track will be changing
19:40the riders absolutely roosted in mud further down the field so Valar doing a great job to hold on to that
19:49fifth position he absolutely blitzed the international meeting at Hawkstone Park in Shropshire at the start
19:57of the season the traditional pre-season opener MX2 winner and certainly a lot of people especially
20:02those who were there that day handed down as a potential dark horse for the MX2 title race this
20:06year injury has played a part in holding him back but certainly looking very strong here
20:14as Langenfelder again has to ditch the goggles much like he did in moto number one
20:18and that's going to make life very difficult for him of course he's got the option of the
20:22goggle lane but that's by no means mandatory
20:26it was previously a mandatory rule they had to pit for goggles but that's been dropped
20:30so it's down to Langenfelder if he chooses to get new goggles he's going to ride it out I think
20:39so Guilherme Farras the young Spaniard looking very strong in this fourth place for
20:43moment Valar not really able to close up at this stage he's keeping the pressure on him
20:47so two of the very recent EMX 250 graduates here going head to head in MX2
20:53as far as the number 99 looking strong at the stage as he makes his way through the left hander oh
21:01got a little bit uh stuck in there up there struggling for traction
21:06oh but look at this goggles being presented here now that's going to be for Langenfelder so i think he's
21:11going to go into the goggle lane regulations are it's not a mandatory stop anymore but i think
21:20he may well pit into the goggle lane so keep an eye on that in a moment so Langenfelder struggling to
21:25catch up with Valar perhaps with the rain coming down going to want to pick for some fresh goggles which
21:31may help him later on in the motor meanwhile watching Matthew Valar closing up on Guilherme Farras for
21:36fourth position trying to get past the Spaniard but the two EMX young guns very new to MX2 these two riders
21:45both showing they have what it takes to battle towards the front of the field
21:49Damo still well clear of Kuhn in the gap two seconds Dwarf in a lonely third place you haven't seen much
21:55of Dwarf in this race because he's been all on his own in third place
21:58there's Langenfelder and still on the track as a glance over to the pits now whether they're going to
22:07tell him to come in
22:11switches his line to the inside line this time it's a shorter line there but a very tricky
22:17rut on the inside line Zaki despite that spill earlier on into the mud he's still in eighth position
22:22finished on ninth two factory Yamahas on the edge of the top 10 finished on ninth
22:27rise of the surrounding at the top 10 Ponton Prudier had that brilliant fourth in the first
22:30Moto not quite a contender in Moto number two but still in 11th place and Cameron McBelan's difficult
22:37weekend continues but he is still in 12th position Julius Michele on the TM also there in 13th
22:46but still this very close back of a fourth place between Guilherme Farras
22:52former EMX 125 rider and managed to place up into sixth best results on the 125 back in the 2020 season
23:08very young rider and still one that's hardly thought of
23:11Sadamo you see him just taking his hands off the bars there going for the roll-off
23:17if you're not familiar with the roll-off system it's almost like the old camera style the camera film
23:22it's a roll of acetate film that goes across the goggles
23:27and it just pull that pull the roller and gets clear vision let's have a look at the start once
23:31again Adamo with an absolutely brilliant jump from the gate
23:35but Langenfeld had the momentum on the outside there we see if you look closer you'll see Adamo almost
23:40had the chance to look across and see just how far he was ahead of everyone
23:43Langenfeld had the momentum on the outside but watch that down he went and he's been playing catch-up
23:51ever since so a small mistake there from Langenfeld but the momentum on that corner the grip just wasn't
23:56there down he went but he's done very well to get back into sixth position
24:01so Andrew Adamo the fox hole shot winner getting to the front and slowly pulling away from Sasha Coonan
24:11Coonan of course a rider who has gained a reputation over the last year or so having blistering pace
24:17very fast off the start but has been a bit aeroprobed we've seen him go down quite a few times
24:24has had a couple of grand prix victories he won last year at Lapier
24:28Kegum circuit and at Majora so he's certainly won on two of the famous old grand prix circuits
24:35and Red Bull KTM I just couldn't believe he's got the pace to be up as a front runner which he's
24:43certainly showing at the moment a small mistake here for Kai Lewulf runs wide off the circuit into
24:47the mud but unfortunately for him not too heavy so he's able to keep momentum keep going he's comfortably
24:53in third place and again you'll see if you uh look at the waistline there on those fox jeans of
25:00Kai Lewulf he's got the blue rag so if he does come off the machine he's able to at least clean his
25:05hands clean the gloves clean the grips he's got good control over the bike especially when the mud's
25:11sticky like this it just sticks to the handlebars sticks to the grips and can make it very difficult
25:17to have control over the bike so that's how they stand at the moment Langenfelder continuing to make
25:21his way through the field Kai Lewulf on for a strong second position but he will lose 10 points to
25:28Adriana Damo in the title race which will make things very close indeed Bruce Lee's head of Langenfelder
25:36for the first time this weekend we properly get to see Kai Lewulf's new line of fox gear it's a bit of a
25:42throwback to the old early 90s the Larry pink and purple and black riding gear ill fox image gear that
25:50used to have David this weekend at Agata but uh the first moto was so wet and gnarly think they're all
25:58different shades of brown from the roost from the track when they all went round so you couldn't really
26:02see the colorways but he's still looking very good in that third place comfortably ahead of Fares in
26:09fourth so he's just going to play it cool here barring disaster he's going to stay in third he's really
26:14relying on this guy Adamo or Koen and hitting trouble the race just started to settle down in
26:20his closing stages Adamo comfortably clear of Koen at the moment but as we've seen so many times today
26:27it is so easy to make a mistake so we can't take anything for granted here Adamo looking comfortable
26:33for the victory so far but that could turn on its head in a split second with the conditions as tough
26:40as they are just watch how much that KTM is dancing about underneath Adamo when he goes out to the
26:47runs suspension working overtime the bike being spat out at odd angles over the jumps because the
26:54runs are so gnarly at the moment so every corner every jump there is the potential for Adamo to
27:01hit trouble but he's certainly coping well so far paddling through the deep rut on the inside
27:05just a few moments ago just took the opportunity to have a brief glance over his shoulder just to
27:11check on the progress of Koen. He will see that he's got a cushion at the front and still there in
27:17second place close enough to keep the pressure on his league on his teammates here if Adamo hits
27:23trouble even if he stays on the machine then Koen could be right in there I have to say this is a
27:28brilliant ride from Sasha Koen at this stage he's a rider who's had some troubles this year he's had a few
27:33crashes much like he did last year but showing that he's got the pace
27:39oh and DeWolf has gone down in third so he's gone back going again now he was comfortably ahead
27:47of foul is it for here we go into and again you see classic mud style fall
27:54it's one of those incidents the conditions are so tough even the world's best look like Clubman juniors out
28:01there but DeWolf straight back on the bike if you look closely I think Adamo even running some of the
28:09the foam on the grips of these bikes now they it is quite sticky rubber on the foam of the grips of
28:15these bikes but some of the riders have got the open cell foam so if they do drop the machine they
28:23they can at least get some grip on the handlebars these wet conditions it's all about survival the
28:28riders doing everything they can to reduce the weight on the bikes to reduce the weight even on
28:32the kit on the helmets as well and to make sure they've got good control of the bike at all times
28:37even if they drop the machine they can clean it up and continue and the trouble is if the grips get
28:43covered in mud you can't hop onto the bike properly and suffice the same condition like this it's very
28:49difficult if you've not got proper control of the bike
28:54interesting to see these mud conditions how the riders and the team prepare
28:59trackside in the garret in the awnings of course it's another race once the race between the motos to
29:07get the bikes prepared and ready for moto number two so both the riders and the team is working overtime today
29:13and sasha koernan his brother looking very good in mxgp at the moment and koernan
29:23bringing it back quite well in the second moto it all went apart for him in moto number one but he's
29:28really uh stringing together a good moto so far staying comfortably ahead of kai de wolf who's made a
29:34mistake of course dropping down and he is well behind in third place but even despite that fall he is
29:40comfortably ahead of gilliam perez and that is fallar simon lehgenfelder opting not to pit for goggles it
29:49looks like so you look closely you'll see the face of the young german still peering out into the air
30:00no protection for his eyes in his face from the roost of the chasing riders which makes things very
30:05difficult if he gets too close to the rider in front can't afford to follow too closely he'll just
30:10get filled in so at the moment it looks like lehgenfelder just shadowing valand at the moment looking
30:17for some good lines trying to power his way through going to the inside line there a lot shorter line
30:22but very wet and not really getting the traction
30:24of course with the rain during the moto as well the lines change lap by lap so the top riders constantly
30:35on the lookout for smooth lines trying to make sure they stay out of trouble some of those wetter lines
30:41on the outside very sticky indeed they hit it wrong they'll just get stuck in the mud
30:46so the riders really having to work hard here looks like lehgenfelder has now got past valand so he's moved
30:54up into fifth position
30:58could all be very important indeed it looks like if you look at lehgenfelder i think he's going for there
31:02he goes he's taken the protective filter off the top of his helmet so the peak now nice and mud free
31:10a lot of those helmet peak protectors made by dt1 one of the air filter companies exactly the same
31:19filters the material as the filters on the machines and what that does it stops the mud from sticking
31:24to the helmet and three laps to go he knows now that it's a good opportunity just to take that mud off
31:30the helmet it always weighs quite a lot so if you can keep that mud away it just keeps the weight of
31:36on top of his helmet imagine walking around with
31:41dumbbells one of those training dumbbells attached to your head how much it will weigh you down that's what the mud does in these
31:46conditions and it just tees the riders yet more so lehgenfelder able to uh at least clear the peak get a bit of weight off him
31:53and now
31:56powering on valand's dropping down to seventh place now so lehgenfelder up to four
32:00crucially for him here he's one position behind kind of wolf now looking at the timing charts here
32:09he's quite a way behind i think he's about 13 seconds on the previous
32:16the previous timing loop so realistically lehgenfelder i don't think it's going to get any closer to kind of
32:22wolf but as we saw so easy to make a mistake if the wolf goes down again it could allow lehgenfelder back
32:28into the reckoning so simon lehgenfelder i'm sure will be pushing as hard as possible meanwhile
32:34and dear adamo looking very good at the moment
32:42the left-hander powering on and the gap still remaining around 4.3 seconds
32:50teammate in second place of course sasha koernitz that's very important for him because
32:54it'll put a little bit of a gap between him and the chasing riders in terms of the mx2 title
32:59base will just snatch some more points on them liam evarts crucially of course is out of the race
33:05you have to feel with another dnf for evarts that his
33:08title chances really are reducing still a long way to go in 2025 of course we can ill afford another dnf
33:16really the moment is turning into a fight between this rider here and andrew adamo simon lehgenfelder and
33:23kinder wolf with the mx2 championship so sasha koernitz
33:28i think he would get past that menestant in the title race he'd move up into the top five
33:33two laps to go here and andrew adamo look at the aerial view here just showing how deep those ruts are
33:43when you get close to the circuit really get an idea of how gnarly the track is so
33:48when we say that adamo's victory is not guaranteed oh right on cue he got cross-rutted let's have a look
33:54when we get back from the replay we saw him got kicked sideways on the tabletop there
33:58here we go look at this loses traction in the rut did he stay on the bike yes he did oh a nervy
34:07moment there for andrew adamo and that just demonstrates perfectly how tough these conditions
34:12are two laps to go he's got a decent gap on cunin in seconds who has held on to the lead
34:20but even for a rider who has been faultless in this race it just goes to show that it is so
34:25easy for a mistake to happen and adamo i don't think it was complacency it was just just how tough
34:32this circuit is these will be nervy moments for the red ball ktm team the rider looking good they're
34:42sitting on a one two in this second moto langenfeld are still charging in fourth and actually langenfeld
34:49really is motoring here i'm just looking at the timing charts here he is reeling in kai de wolf
34:57langenfelder currently the fastest rider on the track
35:01moving on to the last lap now there's langenfelder
35:052.16 last time round fastest rider on the circuit at this stage and he caught up four seconds on
35:11on de wolf last time round there's de wolf there he is langenfelder over the table tom he is charging
35:16he knows he's in front of him simon langenfelder only four points behind kai de wolf coming into these races
35:24after the qualifying motors yesterday they crossed the line for the last lap and langenfelder knows he could
35:31stage a late ambush here and grab crucial points in the mx2 time for race here as we say still a very
35:41long way to go but every point matt oh we just got stuck in the rut a little bit there but still motors
35:48i'm sure that kai de wolf will get the message from the pits here to charge on because langenfelder is
35:53closing oh that was uh 174 i think that was uh benikens possibly got cross rutted almost uh caught
36:04langenfelder but he gets through oh this is a nervy final lap here langenfelder looking across he can
36:09see the wolf's there let's have a look oh that was a close moment there that was the uh nicholas
36:16benikens 19th position got cross rutted broke right across the front of langenfelder i thought
36:22was going to take him out but langenfelder holding his nerve and still pressurizing kai de wolf he's
36:30not giving this one up adamo clear at the front so far there's de wolf i think he has picked up the
36:35pace of it now just looking to try and bring it home for that third place keep those points
36:41off langenfelder who has done brilliantly to fight back into fourth position i have to say after tumbling
36:46on the first lap could still yet get into third as the wolf working hard meanwhile andrew redamo it's
36:55been a brilliant weekend for him what would be he can bring it home now with me his first double moto
37:04of the season he took a moto win at saint jean d'angelaire earlier this season took the grand prix victory in
37:11switzerland by consistency but it's a double moto win and the victory for andrew damo in such brutal
37:18conditions he has been absolutely faultless today a couple of minor mistakes out there but didn't really
37:22affect him too much sasha kunan will bring it home in second position 4.3 seconds down brilliant right for
37:29for him and here comes the battle of the third is de wolf gonna hold on he's working hard here he knows
37:34that langenfelder is behind him through the left hand do they go so kernan second and kai de wolf holds
37:42on brilliant right from langenfelder but he has to settle for fourth position that late charge
37:49so what a ride there and what a ride for him celebratory panic rare for andrew adamo mud mud glorious
38:03mud and andrew adamo absolutely wallowing in it there in that second moto 4.3 seconds the gap
38:10and the checkered flag kai de wolf that lonely third place came under some pressure later on from
38:16langenfelder mattis fallarm great ride for him in fifth place kars falk a great ride for the young
38:20dutchman in sixth position people best on seventh gilion faris great ride for him as well if you keep
38:25going to cross the line any moment now faded a little bit as the race went on but still should get it
38:32into the top ten if you bring it home on the final lap still coming on with some pressure from fruccio
38:37saki there he goes baris over the line in eighth position and zaki despite his off-track excursion
38:47should bring it home at night so yet again we've got sun and rain in equal measures but andrew adamo
38:55absolutely dominating the second moto getting the pass done on kunan earlier on prunias has broken into the top
39:0310 on that final lap so he finishes 10th from wiserless camp mcclellan up to 12 position michael zinger
39:08in 13th from horio and valerio lata had a difficult moto but will bring it back looks like he's going to
39:14finish in 15th place from julius mickela but andrew adamo the second moto winner wow andrew adamo you won
39:21the qualifying race yesterday now you know how a double race win victory today maximum points for you this
39:27weekend that was a big win for you yeah means a lot uh it's crazy wow one one one in these conditions
39:35it's uh unbelievable uh i don't know this weekend i had one gear more of everybody so super super happy
39:42and uh yeah hope to keep the momentum really but to keep this momentum is going to be difficult but
39:48i'll try my best enjoy this moment
39:57so andrew adamo fantastic form today here in portugal indies brutal conditions
40:05pretty much everybody hitting trouble out there at some point this weekend but adamo
40:09kept it clean kept it upright and was able to bring it home once again to take a double moto victory
40:18it's first of all of the season
40:30so andrew damo second motor winner from sasha kirling kindy wolf in third
40:34langenfelder mattis fallan caspo menestand uh paris brilliant right for him as well in eighth position
40:40on the triumph sunkey ninth premier is breaking through to the top ten on the final up from wiseless
40:45is cam mcclellan rickal zinger olivia in 14 flatter vikula in 16 on the tm and the rest of the point
40:53scorers maxime grove the difficult first motor he gets into the points basadas menekens
40:57and magnus smith the final point scorer
41:00no doubting who the overall winner was this weekend andrew damo double motor victory clean sweep 50 points
41:07kindy wolf taking a brace of third positions gets him onto the second step of the podium tied on
