http://portablefilmfestival.com - 'One Year Down' is a moving piece from Bill Gullo following the day of a man coming to terms with loss. This short is beautifully shot and has a subject matter that fits well into the short film format. Unlike short films that document the journey of an individual where the most interesting things in a person's life can happen over the course of eight minutes, 'One Year Down' covers ground more subtly through encounters at a road crossing, a New York deli and a bath. As the film progresses, the story delicately unfolds from a quirky man in a cape, to a struggling man dealing with family loss and mourning. Director Bill Gullo's blend of the quirky and dramatic, along with his sublime shot selection prove his talent. He is represented by the William Morris Agency and has written the screen adaption of the novel, Busted Flush, for Anonymous Content (Eternal Sunshine and the Spotless Mind, Babel) as well as the screen adaption of his own stage musical You Again. Directed by Bill Gullo. Distributed by Tubemogul.
