"Suicide Girls Must Die" Calendar Shoot! (Video)
The premiere of the Suicide Girls' "campy" horror "ok to laugh" film which premiered at the 300 seat Downtown Independent, 251 Main St. Los Angeles, was an excellent way to spend the late hours of Friday night, and the wee hours of Saturday morning.
The rooftop terrace party complete with full bar was laid back while Suicide Girls founder Missy Suicide (video) circulated shaking a lot hands, chatting with guests and friends, amongst the crowd of about 275. Both floors of the Independent were hopping with moviegoers hanging out joining each other for a drink and to take in the new SG release.
Suicide Girls slideshow imagery was projected (think large) onto the backside of the Independent's facade as well as a three screen wall mounted setup in the lobby. Lot's of leopard print, high heels, silk flowers, straight cut bangs and retrobilly garb was happening. Very cool crowd.
The film boasts no professional actors, not looking for Oscar's here, and a light attitude towards film making in general, and it works. The SG film makers managed to put the pieces together to bring a lot of scary fun to the screen while remaining true to Suicide Girl-dom and including "beautiful naked girls with tattoos!" in the film's calendar shoot scenes. Saucy!
Sawa Suicide, (video) Director of the film, took twelve of the girls across the country on a "calendar shoot," so they were led to believe, where one by one the girls began to disappear into the backwoods of Maine. A mysterious "mountain man" appears as a possible villain at one point as the mystery winds it's way around a remote lakeside cabin (fitted with hidden cameras) with the just right touch of foreboding effects and slick camera angles creating added tension throughout the flick.
It's fun, it's throw back spooky, silly at times, hilarious mostly, and it stars the one and only... Suicide Girls! See it!
