If you were competing in a game show for a cash prize that was riddled with zombies, how would you kill them? Thanks to Blue Castle Games, you can research your answer to this in Dead Rising 2. Set five years after the events of the original Dead Rising, the sequal’s world is comfortable enough with zombies to use them for entertainment. Players control Chuck Greene, a former motorcross champion that’s seeking the prize money to pay for his infected daughter’s medication. Thanks to his experience with tools, Chuck isn’t only limited to what he finds strewn around the gameroom’s vast, casino-themed setting; once the corresponding card is found, players can pair two simple items together to make a combo weapon. Of course, Chuck isn’t competing against himself. Survivors and psychopaths are still a huge component of the game, supplying plenty of challenge for those looking for something beyond saving Chuck’s daughter. Thankfully, psychopaths will be the only infuriating opponent this time around; the survivors’ AI has been improved, making them much more likely to heed your commands than they ever were before. Dead Rising 2 was released last year for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
