"PLEASE KEEP HANDS OFF THE DOORS". Carl Nagin, Avatar, March 29, 1968.

"Recently their live concerts and particularly the Boston concert have been tired and worn out. They are sick of their own theatrical bits. They are aiming at a kind of ritual rock theatre but don’t seem to know how to do it. Perhaps there is too much to contend with."The Doors were apparently running two hours late for their Boston gig and the management for the theatre were quite panicky at the thought of giving out refunds to a full house crowd. Linda Ronstadt & The Stone Poneys had taken the stage and were somewhat better received than their preceding acts. For most part of the first set, Jim was aloof and played a parody of himself - as well as not taking the performance seriously, he mocked his audience by singing "Light My Fire" in a south Boston accent.

First show at 4:30 pm - Second show at 7:30 pm
Other artists: Linda Ronstadt, Stone Poneys, Oregon Factory, Turtle City
