A lonely Saxophone - Mikael Tariverdiev
Music "A lonely Saxophone" (Odinokij saksofon) is written by Mikael Tariverdiev.
Album: Remembering Venice.
"This is how it happened. I was asked to write music for a film. At that time its title was A Promise of Love.
I did not particularly like the material. It surely was not a masterpiece although it had marvelous actors. The heroine happened to travel to Venice. And Venice was splendid! And I always wanted to visit Venice. So I agreed to write the scores.
This is how I found myself there. After all there are various modes of traveling in space. I was roaming around in gondolas, I was sitting in small, cosy coffee-houses, I was watching masks at the fiesta. I saw the cheeky white pigeons in San Marco Basilica place, listened to clock chimes and organ music in the cathedral. And I saw the sunrise.
I have never been to Venice. But I was there.
The film was released under a different title. But for me the music remains a reminiscence of Venice."
