LAYLA ANNA-LEE with CAPTAIN DANGEROUS

Captain Dangerous were formed by former flat mates Adam Clarkson and Miles Clark whilst at University in Lincoln and later joined by (former childhood bully of Adam) Mark Houlgate and most recently Ben Farnsworth. Since forming over three years ago, Captain Dangerous have been cutting their teeth playing alongside acts including The Magic Numbers, The Rumble Strips, Dirty Pretty Things, Lightspeed Champion and The Holloways, as well as making festival and TV appearances across Europe.

The band have played well in excess of 250 gigs across the UK and have headlined some of the most important live music venues in the country including Rock City, Rescue Rooms (both Nottingham), The Louisiana (Bristol), 53 Degrees (Preston), 93 Feet East (London), Barfly (Birmingham), Rhythm Factory, Nambucca, and The Dublin Castle (all London) to name but a few.

In 2008 the band (sponsored by BMI Baby) embarked on a festival tour of the Czech Republic, including playing in a decommissioned Cold War-era nuclear fall out shelter 33 metres under the streets of central Prague. The band have also performed on the Levi's Ones to Watch Tour, the Jack Daniels JD set, and were chosen in a public vote from over 100 bands to be the opening act for the weekend long music festival to celebrate the newly reopened Market Square in Nottingham.

Captain Dangerous have already been championed by many, including BBC Radio DJs Dean Jackson and Mark Riley, as well as XFMs John Kennedy. Summer 2009 will see the release of debut album The House That Jack Hayter Built (the launch of which saw a sell out crowd at Nottinghams Rock City on Dec 12th 2008, something almost unheard of from an unsigned band).

Captain Dangerous will no doubt delight their 40,000 plus Myspace following when the first single The Terrorist, taken from the forthcoming album, is released on 25th May through Danqua Records. The band are currently promoting the single with a unique Take Away Tour' of the UK.
