Toy Soldier is an Irish based Electropop trio with an addictive groove, capturing a summer vibe. Think of a beach party with Passion Pit, Cut Copy and Hot Chip all invited.
In their short lifespan Toy Soldier have toured in Europe and the USA, featured on an 'Ireland's Hottest Acts' CD in Hot Press Magazine and have been lauded by BBC radio DJ Tom Robinson on his show 'BBC Introducing'.
Toy Soldier is Cian Walsh (Vocals, Synths, Guitars), Ciara Budds (Vocals, Synths) and Fergal McCarthy (Drums, Live Programming).
"Fergal and I started jamming right after we finished music college. I studied at the Cork School of Music while Fergal studied at BIMM in Brighton. We performed for about a year as a duo until we found Ciara. From our first jam we knew she was right", explains frontman Cian.
The US tour saw the band perform at the world famous 'House of Blues' venue on Sunset Boulevard in LA as well as feature on popular LA station KCSN fm.
Toy Soldier were included on a number of festival line-ups in 2010 including the Electric Picnic and the Hard Working Class Heroes festival.
2011 is proving to be a whirlwind year for the band. Following the release of their debut single as a three piece 'Sunset Girl' on March 3rd they embark on a string of dates around Ireland. In April the band head back to the USA to promote their new release with a sting of dates including a prestigious show at the Viper Room on Sunset Boulevard.
Keep an eye out for Toy Soldier this summer as they bring their brand of Electropop to the festival circuit.
