Conor O' Tuama began playing back in Cork, Ireland when he was 14. Like many of his peers, he spent much of his time on the streets, busking, and in local venues honing his talents. He featured in many "Battle of the Bands" contests/showcases, and began writing his own material at the age of 18. While studying at University College Cork (UCC), he travelled extensively around Europe, playing original material, as well as more traditional fare with various Irish and foreign musicians.
After undergoing a few years' education at UCC, he studied Sound Engineering and moved to Dublin, where he was employed as Sound Engineer and Assistant Manager in the local Irish language radio station, Raidio na Life. While working here, he spent many nights insinuating himself into the local music scene, playing many times in the renowned International Bar, and meeting many very accomplished songwriters. He acquired a four-track tape recorder and recorded incessantly; much of the ground work for the new album, "Time 'til I Die" was undergone here.
He moved to Galway a few years back, where he worked as live sound engineer in the larger venues around the city, and then went to university to study Physics & Astronomy, all the time singing, playing and writing. He built his own home studio from scratch, centered around a Linux-based pc, and recorded the new album here.
