ACOLLECTIVE - STOLEN GOODS
PRESENTED BY RONI GOVER
Acollective are one of Israel's leading international bands, a 7 piece machine of rioting madness and drunken joy - mixing up boogied-folk, electronic-jazz and a Middle Eastern-bluesy twang with indie sensibilities. Acollective have earned a reputation for their astounding live performances, a mayhem of whiskey, sweat, and a seemingly infinite arsenal of genres and musical instruments.
To date, Acollective members have released 3 full-length albums under different monikers, each gaining critical acclaim and extensive airplay in local and national radio stations, and were given enthusiastic mentions in the NME, Fly Magazine, Filter, Time Out, Jerusalem Post and Haaretz, among others.
With no label or sponsorship, Acollective have managed to build a growing loyal fan base, following the band from show to show and city to city. For the past year Acollective have been playing a monthly show in Tel Aviv in a 350 capacity venue, which is sold out each and every night, their growing popularity leading them to headline IndieNegev, Israel's largest independent music festival. They have also supported Jose Gonzalez, Okkervil River and Woven Hand in their shows in Israel.
'Onwards', Acollective's latest album was produced by Chris Shaw (Bob Dylan, Super Furry Animals, Guillemots).
"A mix of Beirut and Devotchka - the band add saxophone, harmonica, whistling and glass bottle percussion to an indie rock backline, resulting in a mix of songs that could come from a progressive NPR-affiliate anywhere in the world" Filter Magazine
"Didn't see this one coming... Think Tindersticks with Jonny Greenwood guitars; all warmly layered, nicely textured and tight. Truly eccentricity gone right." NME
Acollective will perform at Zappa Cub on 31/1 with their special piano concert
