Benedikt is a Rock 'n' Roll band with the perfect balance of modern sound mixed with old school vibes of country blues, rockabilly, folk, surf and gypsy swing. Benedikt formed back in 2007, led by guitarist /singer/ songwriter Lyr Benedikt. The group originated from Jerusalem, Israel and quickly began playing gigs in the Tel Aviv indie music scene. The influences of western swing and rhythm & blues are clearly apparent in Lyr's voice and the bands uptempo and raw sound.
The result of touring Israel for the last few years, has given Benedikt the reputation of making every live show a party. The audience has the impulse to move, shake it, and swing to the music. You won't find politics here, but you will find a taste of the reckless urban Israeli milieu and a "lonesome road-less-traveled" philosophy.
