Happy Chinese New Year of the Sheep! I am joined by my special guest Mrs. Lam, who shows us her delicious Chinese mung bean dumpling soup recipe to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Sheep.

Ingredients:

Dumpling skin
1) White Sticky Rice powder (2 cups)
2) Tapioca Starch (1 teaspoon)
3) Hot water (3/4 cup)
4) Sugar (1/2 teaspoon dissolved in water)

Dumpling filling:
1) Mung beans (1/2 cup)
2) Vegetable oil (3 teaspoons)
3) Coconut milk (2 tablespoons)
4) Water (1 inch above the mung beans)
5) Vegetable oil (3 teaspoons)
6) Sugar (1 teaspoon)
7) Salt (1/4 teaspoon)

Broth:
1) Water (3 cups)
2) Palm Sugar (3 pieces) (substitute: Brown Sugar ½ cup)
3) Ginger (3-4 inches)
