Dinosaurs actually lived during 165 million of years. Scientists say that they are the most successful vertebrate animal to have colonized earth. We can separate dinosaurs in two branches.
Usually we'll divided them between herbivores and carnivores. But scientists categorize them in two other group. Saurischian or "lizard-hipped", contains the carnivorous and the herbivorous. Ornithischian or "bird-hipped", contains the plant-eating dinosaurs. Most of the dinosaurs were plant-eaters.
The dinosaurs had different brains. The plant-eating dinos had smaller brain, which made them less intelligent. The meat-eating dinos, didn't especially have a bigger brain, but had more grey matter. But the brightest dinos had the intellect of an ostrich.
Everybody believes dinosaurs all went extinct at the same time... it isn't true. Once the meteorite fell in the Yucatan Peninsula, 65 million years ago, the process of extinction took hundreds, even thousands of years. The temperature dropped, the lack of sun and the lack of vegetation affected the food chain slowly.
