The second season of "Poetry Sans Frontiers" continues to convey the spirit of poetry through the form of documentary "video prose poetry", so that people from different countries, different nationalities and different languages can feel that no matter how the world changes, we can all stand together in the name of poetry.
"Poetry Sans Frontiers" is a cross-cultural exchange program launched by CGTN that breaks the language boundaries through the narration and poetry recitation of different countries and characters, employs poetry to tell the story of beautiful love, genuine friendship, fearless courage, love for life, praise for nature and a longing for peace.

14:43 >> I had sent a message to my parents in the US before going,
14:48 like an email.
14:49 My parents' response was just be safe and be careful.
14:52 When my mother-in-law had heard the news,
14:55 she was just reminding me that I have a family and a daughter.
14:59 And is this really what I need to be doing?
15:01 But they were worried, but weren't really able to stop me.
15:05 They were in Chendu at the time.
15:06 [MUSIC]
15:26 >> For myself, I think it really felt really serious what they finally got on
15:29 that motorcycle, to be honest.
15:30 It was kind of on the back of a motorcycle zipping through town.
15:35 No helmet on the back, and my hands already occupied with the object too.
15:39 But I didn't know when I first came, am I going straight up the mountain?
15:45 And then it turns out, hey, I just didn't know what to expect.
15:48 Definitely a little scary.
15:50 I knew it.
15:51 I always try to prepare for, is there for the right reasons though?
15:54 It wasn't as far as the day itself.
15:56 I mean, there was a lot of waiting around.
15:58 I'm ready to do more, ready to do more, but.
16:00 [MUSIC]
16:09 >> My wife has seen me operating power tools before.
16:15 She was certainly worried.
16:17 I mean, I'd gotten more calls from her that day than usual,
16:20 and it's like sometimes I could answer and sometimes I couldn't.
16:23 >> The three of us were kind of working together to get the first few together
16:25 outside where it was brutally hot, and then we did the final safety check.
16:29 But we were making sure they were gassed and oiled properly once they were assembled.
16:33 Then they were all taken to a different staging area and tested once again,
16:37 and then the chainsaw groups were formed to head up the mountain.
16:40 [FOREIGN]
16:51 >> You know, the people around me are, you know, my people basically.
16:54 I mean, it's not, oh, it's us and them.
16:56 It's, you know.
16:57 >> It was kind of nice, so when we got to the top there and we're waiting in line to head in,
17:02 there was a lady who just appeared, and she's like, oh, [FOREIGN]
17:07 [MUSIC]
17:18 >> People donating time and materials and meals and motorcycles and everything else.
17:24 You know, I had different people donating money and just people trying to help their community.
17:30 Even worse things to come, you know, the community will probably come together.
17:35 That I like to see.
17:37 It's just people who, you know, have never, you know, necessarily helped in a situation like that
17:43 or, you know, to see them get organized.
17:45 There was no fighting or bickering.
17:46 It was all just let me help.
17:47 Where can I help?
17:49 >> A friend is somebody that you can count on, you know, an extended family member in a way.
17:55 That's in times of crisis, you kind of see who's around you.
17:58 [MUSIC]
18:01 [FOREIGN]
18:21 [MUSIC]
18:28 >> A friend by Jillian Jones.
18:31 A person who will listen and not condemn.
18:34 Someone on whom you can depend.
18:37 They will not flee when bad times are here.
18:40 Instead, they will be there to lend an ear.
18:43 They will think of ways to make you smile so you can be happy for a while.
18:49 Do not forget your friends at all, for they pick you up when you fall.
18:53 Do not expect to just take and hold.
18:56 Give friendship back.
18:58 It is pure gold.
